If payment is made by cheque or cash deposit, an additional R15.00 over and above the total fee must be paid to cover bank charges. Closing Date for entries 22 May 2018 at 20:00 Due to printing of show documents no late entries please. Entries can be ed, WhatsApped or SMS ed to the Show Secretary. Applicable fees must be transferred electronically (EFT) into the Society s bank account. In each case proof of payment must be presented or accompany the entry form. Proof of payment must be presented when collecting your cage labels at the venue. Please call or WhatsApp / SMS the Show Secretary to confirm entry were received. Do not phone through non-benches as these will be identified on the morning of the show. Benching 15:00 to 18:30 on 25 May 2018 & 7:00 to 8:00 on 26 May. Judging Judging will commence at 9:00 Prize Giving De-benching Show hours After judging at around 15:00 on 26 May 26 May after prize giving. 9:00 till 14:00 on 26 May. Fees MUST be deposited into the GBC bank account. Your ring code must be used as a deposit reference: Name : JR Scarborough Bank : Capitec Type of Account : Savings Account Number : Branch code : Birds sent by Air Birds sent by air must arrive not later than 13h00 on Friday 25 May. The Transit Officer must be advised of the flight number, air waybill number and arrival time. Return fare to be included with entry fee. Please note that there is a R50 fee for collection of birds from the airport. This is to cover fuel and e-toll costs. Any birds arriving in unsatisfactory travel cages which are not according to the specifications will be returned. All overcrowded travel cages will also not be accepted.

Show cages that do not comply to the standard as detailed in Appendix F and G annexed to the Rules framed in terms of the BSSA Constitution (Volume 2), will not be accepted. 2. Wooden Show Cage 2.1. All exhibits benched with unmarked fingerdraw drinkers fitted to the show cages between the 1st and 2nd vertical wires on the left hand side when facing the cage and resting on the 2nd horizontal bar from the bottom of the wire front All exhibits benched with blue unmarked fountain drinkers fitted to the show cages in the 2nd vertical wires from the left perch when facing the cage and resting on the 2nd horizontal bar from the bottom of the wire front. 3. Wire Show Cage 3.1. All exhibits benched with blue unmarked plastic fountain drinker as supplied by the Society to be fitted to the back of the show cage between the 8th and 9th vertical wires counting from the left, resting on the 2nd horizontal bar from the bottom All exhibits benched with white plastic unmarked finger drinker as supplied by the Society to be fitted to the back of the show cage between the 8th and 9th vertical wires counting from the left, resting on the 2nd horizontal bar from the bottom can be used. The back of the show cage is the opposite side to the BSSA logo printed on the left bottom of the tray. 4. ONLY PLAIN CLEAR WATER WITH NO ADDITIVES MUST BE USED IN DRINKERS BEFORE JUDGING. 5. Show cage floors shall be covered with only a combination of three (3) seeds namely Canary seed, White millet seed and Jap millet seed PLUS optionally Oats or Grouts and no sand or sawdust may be used. No coloured water will be allowed in the drinkers. Bio-Security The minimum BSSA Bio-Security precautions as communicated in BSSA minutes of June 2017 will be applied. No responsibility for any ill effects suffered by Exhibitors will be taken. Exhibitors are requested to contact the Show Manager to make arrangements for benching and debenching of birds if concerned. Wire Show Cages don t need to be sprayed before benching. HOWEVER - All staging namely; Show Staging, Designated Area Staging, Judges Stands, Benching Area Stands as well as any Benching and Steward Tables and Chairs in the venue need to be sprayed before birds enter the hall. Judges wipes must be provided and Senior Stewards to ensure Judges make use of the wipes as have been done in the past.

6 REGULATIONS 1. The Show Rules and Show Schedule of the Budgerigar Society of South Africa shall apply. 2. Birds entered in wrong classes are entirely the responsibility of the exhibitor. Entries unaccompanied by the correct entry fee will not be accepted. Entry fees will be forfeited in respect of birds not benched. NO ALTERATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED ON ENTRY FORMS AFTER RECEIPT BY THE SHOW SECRETARY BUT ADDITIONAL ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. 3. The officials will ensure that all exhibits are properly cared for but will not, however, be responsible for any loss of, or damage to the birds or cages that may occur for any reason whatsoever either during the show or in transit to and from the show. Whilst extreme care and attention will be paid to the exhibits whilst at the show, exhibits are entered at owner s risk 4. No person shall be allowed to remove from the staging any exhibit except with the permission and in the presence of the Show Manager. This rule will apply throughout the duration of the show. 5. Photographing of exhibits by spectators is permissible but under no circumstances may the exhibit or the show cage be touched or removed from the staging. The appointed official photographer may move an exhibit to a safe room and transfer the exhibit into a photographic cage but only in consultation with the Show Manager who will delegate a steward to assist 6. Only show officials and members of the BSSA Management Committee will be allowed to move freely in the hall whilst judging is in progress. However, space allowing, spectators will be allowed to move around in the hall to view the birds on the staging but the judging area, in which only show officials and members of the Management Committee will be allowed, will be cordoned off. 7. All types of smoking as well as alcoholic abuse in the show hall are strictly forbidden. Anybody contravening this regulation will be reported to the Show Manager and the BSSA Representative and will be removed from the show venue. DE-BENCHING 8. De-benching sheets should be collected from the Show Secretary directly after the prize giving. 9. At the announcement that de-benching may commence, birds are to be collected and an orderly queue formed by exhibitors with their birds and de-benching sheets at any exit point for booking out. 10. Exhibitors are requested not to remove any exhibit from the staging prior to the official announcement that de-benching may commence.
