2 Brown Egg Layers Rhode Island Red Through the years this breed has maintained its reputation as a dual purpose bird. It is a truly American breed known for its outstanding egg production of large, brown eggs and their ability to withstand our harsh New England winters. Black Giant An excellent dual-purpose chicken and the heaviest of all the breeds we offer. With a straight red comb and tremendous size they are great for exhibition. They are good layers of large brown eggs and one of the best cold tolerant breeds. Buff Rock Buff Rocks are truly a gorgeous color, being pure golden buff from feather base to tip. They are excellent winter layers of large brown eggs; also good setters in late spring. Light Brahma A very old feather footed breed originating from Asia. They are exceptionally quiet, gentle and easy to handle. Their small pea comb, great size and heavy plumage make them almost immune to cold weather. Good producers of large eggs especially in winter. They will also set. Columbian Wyandotte An unusual and attractive variety. They have white bodies with black and silver contrasting neck, tail and wing plumage. A medium size bird that lays medium, brown eggs. Excellent winter egg production.

3 Brown Egg Layers (Continued) White Orpington These are a large, quiet and gentle breed. They are a beautiful pure white color. Their heavy, full plumage make them outstanding winter egg layers of large, brown eggs. They are also excellent setters and mothers. White Egg Layers & Specialty Breeds Pearl White Leghorn This breed was developed from special strains of White Leghorns. They weigh about 4 pounds at maturity and start laying at about 4-1/2 months old. Livability and resistance to disease are very high, and the feed to egg conversion ratio is excellent, holding down the cost of egg production. They are prolific extra-large, white egg layers. Partridge Cochin Bantam Bantams are miniature chickens, usually ¼ the size of standard varieties. Cochins are a feather footed variety. They are very gentle, excellent setters and require little space. They lay small brown eggs. Only available as a straight-run (not sexed). Araucana/Ameraucauna (The Easter Egg Chicken ) A special cross known for their ability to lay colored eggs of shades varying from turquoise to deep olive to shades of brown. Beautifull birds, the adults are of medium size and exhibit a combination of colors and patterns. A unique breed and great fun when the eggs start coming!
