AIR EUROPA PET CLASSIFICATION PETC: AVIH: Dgs Cats Birds (except birds f prey) Fish Aquarium trtises Sme rdents (hamsters, guinea pigs r small rabbits) Amphibians Insects Crustaceans Reptiles (except Aquarium trtises) Rdents (except hamsters, guinea pigs r small rabbits) Ferrets Nt accepted as PETC r AVIH: When animals are nt accmpanied by their wners r authrised representatives f the wners. Cmmercial shipments f pet animals r shipments cnsidered t be cmmercial. Prtected endangered species. Adult carnivres f species nt classified as pets. Labratry animals. Unweaned animals. Pregnant animals. Animals nt accepted as PETC r AVIH may be accepted as carg in certain situatins, in which case the necessary arrangements must be made with Air Eurpa s Carg Department. 1.2 CARRIAGE LIMITATIONS The maximum number f pets dgs, cats, ferrets, pet birds r any ther animal that each passenger may transprt withut it being cnsidered a cmmercial cnsignment is 5. With regard t cmmercial shipments f animals as carg (Air Eurpa Carg Department) the 5 animal limit des nt exist. 1.3 ACCEPTANCE PETC In rder fr PETC t be accepted, the animal must cmply with the fllwing requirements: Pets (dgs and cats) must have all required vaccinatins. It shuld be kept in a cntainer r carrier with maximum dimensins f 55 x 35 x 25 cm. It must nt give ff an ffensive smell r lk unpleasant fr the rest f the passengers. The ttal weight may nt exceed 8 kg (pet + cntainer). The maximum capacity fr pets in the aircraft must be respected, which is dependant n its characteristics. Fr PETC it is always the number f cntainers that cunts and nt the number f animals. Therefre, it is pssible t transprt varius pets in the same cntainer prvided that size and weight requirements are met. 1

2 In a single cntainer up t 3 pets may be transprted, prvided that they are all the same species and that the maximum size and weight limits are nt exceeded. The cntainer must be placed under the seat in frnt. Under n circumstances may the animal be released frm the cntainer in the aircraft passenger cabin. The cntainer must be an apprved mdel; r failing that, it must be pssible t clse it cmpletely withut interfering with the animal s breathing. Carriers and cntainers that d nt ffer ventilatin when clsed will nt be accepted fr carriage AVIH Any animal that des nt meet the cnditins fr carriage as PETC must be transprted as AVIH in the aircraft hld, and must cmply with the fllwing requirements: A passenger may check-in up t 5 animals. Pets (dgs and cats) must have all required vaccinatins. Ptentially dangerus dgs (in accrdance with Ryal Decree 287/2002) must wear a muzzle that is apprpriate t their breed. This is t prevent damage t the structure f the cntainers and injury t individuals with whm the animal is nt familiar and wh have t handle it. The breeds that must wear a muzzle when carried as AVIH (R.D. 287/2002) are: Pit Bull Terrier Staffrdshire Bull Terrier American Staffrdshire Terrier Rttweiler Dg Argentin Fila Brasileir Tsa Inu Akita Inu Thse dgs that meet all r the majrity f the fllwing cnditins must als wear a muzzle: Strng muscles, pwerful and rbust appearance, athletic cnstitutin, agility, strength and endurance. Strng character and fearless. Shrt hair. Chest width between 60 and 80 cm; shulder height between 50 and 70cm, and weight ver 20kg (44lb). Bulky, square, rbust head; with a large, wide skull and prnunced cheek muscles; strng, large jaw; strng, wide, deep muth. Shrt, wide, muscular neck. Brad, thick, deep chest, with arched ribs and a muscular, shrt back. Straight, parallel, strng frelegs and very muscular hindquarters, frming a mderate angle, and relatively large paws. Pets must be transprted in IATA-apprved rigid cntainers with a metal dr, apprpriate fr carriage by air. Wire mesh r welded mesh cntainers are nt acceptable. The passenger shall be respnsible fr feeding the animal if this is necessary. The cntainers must have the apprpriate hlders fr fd and water, allwing the animal t be fed frm utside the cntainer. The cntainer must be apprpriately ventilated thrugh the three sides with greater ventilatin thrugh the upper part. There must be absrbent material n the flr f the cntainer. Straw is nt acceptable as in many cuntries its entry is frbidden. The cntainer must have a green IATA Live Animals label and a black This side up label. It must be pssible t clse the cntainer firmly (withut padlcks). Larger cntainers must have at least tw secure lcks. The dr hinges and security blts must crss the vents in the cntainer abve and belw the dr pening by at least 1.6cm. 2

3 The size f the cntainer must be such that it allws the animal t remain upright withut tuching the tp with any part f its head r ears, turn arund freely and lie dwn naturally at all times. The maximum number f pets per cntainer is 1. Hwever, a maximum f 2 animals will be permitted when they are f cmparable size (up t 14kg each) and are used t chabiting. A maximum f 3 animals frm the same litter, up t six mnths ld, can be shipped int the same cntainer. Fr interline flights (in which mre than ne cmpany participates) an acceptance cnfirmatin will be necessary frm any nging carriers. Flat-nsed dgs such as bxers, bulldgs, Pekingese and thers are affected mre than ther breeds by pr-quality air and, therefre, it is necessary t ensure that the cntainer has separatr bars frm the base t the tp s that the air can circulate prperly. It is essential that the animal des nt suffer frm breathing difficulties. The passenger s name, address and cntact telephne number must be marked clearly and visibly n the animal s cntainer. Sedating animals is nt recmmended as it lwers their bld pressure, and this can be lethal when cmbined with the air pressure at high altitudes. Sedatives r ther medicines may be used if dne s in accrdance with a veterinary prescriptin SERVICE ANIMALS GUIDE ANIMALS Guide animals accmpanying a deaf r blind passenger are excluded frm the PETC and AVIH regulatins. It is necessary t ntify 48 hurs prir t the flight via pnr with a SSR BLND r DEAF, accrding t the passenger s type f disability, and in the free text indicate that a guide animal will be n bard. The animal must be identified as a service animal by its identificatin card, ther written dcumentatin, the presence f harnesses, labels, r credible verbal guarantees frm a persn with reduced mbility using the animal. In the event that it is nt pssible t demnstrate that the animal is a service animal, the regulatins fr AVIH and PETC will be fllwed. A passenger wh is travelling with a service animal will be placed in a specific seat fr such cases. In the event that such seats are nt available (due t there being ther passengers in the same situatin), Air Eurpa is nt bliged t prvide the passenger with an extra seat. There are tw types f guide animals: Thse that have been specially trained and are capable f carrying ut certain tasks r functins t assist the passenger with their disability. Thse that prvide emtinal supprt t a persn whse disability is related with mental health. Service animals will always be accepted in line with the fllwing requirements and regulatins: The guide animals are trained t behave apprpriately. An animal that shws signs f aggressive behaviur has nt been prperly trained and will nt be accepted as a guide animal even if it is assisting a passenger with reduced mbility r is necessary fr the emtinal well-being f a passenger. Every PRM passenger will be permitted t travel with their guide animal in the passenger cabin. Said animals are nt cunted as PETC. The ttal weight f the guide animal prviding emtinal supprt plus its cntainer may nt exceed 8kg. The number f guide animals permitted n bard the aircraft is limited by the number f PRM wh are able t walk and travelling alne. Guide animals that are underging training are nt permitted in the cabin. They will never be charged as excess baggage. 3

4 Guide dgs nt kept in a cntainer may be accepted in the passenger cabin prvided they have the apprpriate harness and d nt take up a seat. Other animals must be kept in their carriers at all times. They must be placed at the passenger s feet and are nt required t wear a muzzle SEARCH AND RESCUE DOGS In the case f trained search and rescue dgs accmpanying rescue teams r security frces n an fficial missin, the fllwing is applicable: The transprt f search and rescue dgs that have the crrespnding Travel Authrisatin is permitted. Such animals are cnsidered members f the Frces and n charge will be made fr their transprt at the Air Eurpa ffices. They can be transprted in the passenger cabin prvided that the animal is accmpanying rescue teams / security frces n an fficial missin. Dgs may be accepted in the passenger cabin if they have the apprpriate harnesses and d nt take up a seat. Untrained dgs are nt permitted in the passenger cabin. There is n weight limit as these animals have maximum acceptance pririty due t their rle RESERVATION PROCESS AND RESPONSIBILITIES POINTS TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WITH THE REQUEST It is always necessary t infrm the client f the requirements and/r current regulatins s that they can act accrdingly and carry the dcumentatin with them that we require and d all that is necessary t cmply with the transprt requirements fr PETC / AVIH. Acceptance will nly be granted when the PETC/AVIH travels accmpanied by the passenger and fllwing prir authrisatin frm the cmpany. The minimum advance ntice fr a request/cnfirmatin via pnr f said carriage is 48 wrking hurs, always with the cdes SSR PETC, SSR AVIH. Any animal reservatin request nt cvered in said prcedure must be sent t Air Eurpa s Carg Department. It is necessary t infrm the client f the apprximate duratin f the flight and any pssible transits, and recmmend they visit their veterinarian in rder t establish guidelines fr drink, fd, and sedatin in accrdance with the flight length. The client must be alerted t the animal health regulatins applicable t nn-cmmercial mvements f pet animals. The client must be advised f the need t check-in the animal sufficiently in advance s that the necessary security cntrls can be carried ut. The client must be infrmed f the requirements that the cntainers used fr transprt must meet, making special mentin f: General requirements fr pet cntainers Specific requirements f the cntainer that are relevant t certain species The number and type f pet animal(s), the weight f the animal plus the cntainer and the measurements f cntainer must be indicated. The 32kg ttal weight limit f animal plus cntainer des nt exist, but it is imprtant t nte that in the case f interline flights said maximum weight limit may nt be exceeded. The maximum permitted size fr the cntainer is 406 linear centimetres (160 in). 4

TRANSPORT TO / WITHIN SPANISH TERRITORY, GENERAL REGULATIONS FOR THE TRANSPORT OF PET ANIMALS GENERAL REGULATIONS Pultry (ducks, chickens, turkeys) are nt cnsidered pet animals and therefre must be transprted as carg. Dgs, cats and ferrets must travel accmpanied by their valid, up-t-date vaccinatin card, r failing that a cmmunity passprt. The animal must travel accmpanied by its wner r the wner s representative. The wner must guarantee via a persnal declaratin that they undertake nt t sell the animal and accept the checks that the Spanish veterinary services deem apprpriate at the address r addresses that the interested parties specify in accrdance with current health regulatins. The health certificate must be drawn up at least in Spanish DOGS, CATS AND FERRETS FROM EU MEMBER STATES Apart frm cmplying with general regulatins, the fllwing requirements als exist: The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectins I, II and III f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been identified at rigin by means f a clearly readable tatt r an electrnic identificatin system (transpnder). The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin IV f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been vaccinated r revaccinated against rabies. Mving the animal during the 21 days after the vaccinatin in the event f it being the first vaccinatin is nt permitted. Animals under three mnths ld that have nt been vaccinated require special authrisatin DOGS, CATS AND FERRETS FROM OTHER EUROPEAN COUNTRIES AND TERRITORIES OR FROM THIRD COUNTRIES INCLUDED IN THE LIST. 8 3.5. PET BIRDS, IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR ORIGIN. Animals must cmply with the established requirements (Cmmissin Decisin 2007/25/EC) as regards certain prtectin measures in relatin t highly pathgenic avian influenza and mvements f pet birds accmpanying their wners int the Cmmunity. In rder t mve such animals, cmpliance with the fllwing requirements is necessary: Have undergne islatin fr 30 days prir t exprt at the place f departure in a third cuntry listed in Cuncil Decisin 79/542/EEC. Underg quarantine fr 30 days after imprt in the Member State f destinatin n premises apprved (in accrdance with Article 6 f Regulatin (EC) 318/2007 f 23 March 2007 which lays dwn animal health cnditins fr the imprt f certain birds int the Cmmunity and the quarantine cnditins theref). Have, within the last six mnths and nt later than 60 days prir t dispatch have been vaccinated, and at least n ne ccasin revaccinated, against avian influenza using an H5 vaccine apprved fr the species cncerned in accrdance with the manufacturer s instructins. Have been islated fr at least 10 days prir t exprt and have undergne a test t detect the H5N1 antigen r genme carried ut n a sample taken nt befre the third day f islatin. Mrever, When the birds cme frm ther Member States, they must be accmpanied by the crrespnding veterinary certificate, signed and sealed by an fficial veterinarian. When the birds cme frm third cuntries, they must be accmpanied by the crrespnding veterinary certificate, signed and sealed by an fficial veterinarian, cmplemented by a declaratin frm the wner r the representative f the wner in accrdance with the mdels established in Decisin 2007/25/EC. Pultry shall NEVER be cnsidered pet animals PET PRIMATES AND OTHER SPECIES, IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN. Animals must be accmpanied by the crrespnding veterinary certificate, drawn up at least in Spanish, and issued in the ten days prir t travelling. 8

9 TRANSPORT FROM SPANISH TERRITORY, GENERAL REGULATIONS FOR THE TRANSPORT OF PET ANIMALS MOVEMENT OF DOGS AND CATS TO EU MEMBER STATES INCLUDED IN THIS POINT. Only dgs and cats are accepted and therefre ferrets and pet birds are nt accepted fr transprt as pet animals. GB UNITED KINGDOM Pets animals are nly accepted as carg, therefre they are nt accepted as PETC r AVIH, and cnsequently the client shuld cntact Air Eurpa s Carg Department. The cuntry s regulatins prhibit the transit r landing f certain animal species thrugh r t the United Kingdm, unless a licence permitting the mvement has been btained. Therefre, Air Eurpa s Carg Department is respnsible fr infrming f the apprval r therwise fr said transprt. IE IRELAND Pet dgs and cats must be accmpanied by their passprt, in which: The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectins I, II and III f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been identified at rigin by means f a clearly readable tatt r an electrnic identificatin system (transpnder). The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin IV f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been vaccinated r revaccinated against rabies. Mving the animal during the 21 days after the vaccinatin in the event f it being the first vaccinatin is nt permitted. The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin V f the passprt, certifying cmpliance with the antirabies serlgical test n a sample taken 21 days after the vaccinatin and three mnths befre travelling, at an authrised labratry. The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin VI f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been subjected t an anti-parasite treatment against ticks between 24 and 48 hurs prir t departure. The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin VII f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been subjected t a treatment against echincccsis between 24 and 48 hurs prir t departure. The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin IX f the passprt, certifying that the animal is in gd health and can travel t its destinatin. SE SWEDEN Pet dgs and cats must be accmpanied by their passprt, in which: The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectins I, II and III f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been identified at rigin by means f a clearly readable tatt r an electrnic identificatin system (transpnder). The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin IV f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been vaccinated r revaccinated against rabies. Mving the animal during the 21 days after the vaccinatin in the event f it being the first vaccinatin is nt permitted. The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin V f the passprt, certifying cmpliance with the antirabies serlgical test n a sample taken 21 days after the vaccinatin and three mnths befre travelling, at an authrised labratry. The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin VII f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been subjected t a treatment against echincccsis between 24 and 48 hurs prir t departure. In the case f dgs, the veterinarian will fill in sectin VIII f the passprt, certifying that the dg has been vaccinated against leptspirsis and distemper. The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin IX f the passprt, certifying that the animal is in gd health and can travel t its destinatin MOVEMENT OF DOGS, CATS AND FERRETS TO EU MEMBER STATES INCLUDED IN THIS POINT. Only dgs, cats and ferrets are accepted, and therefre pet birds are nt accepted fr transprt as pet animals. Animals must be accmpanied by their passprt, in which:

Mving the animal during the 21 days after the vaccinatin in the event f it being the first vaccinatin is nt permitted FI FINLAND In additin t the abve pints (sectins I,II,III and IV f the passprt): The clinical veterinarian will fill in sectin VII f the passprt, certifying that the animal has been subjected t treatment against Equincccus multilcuaris with Praziquantel in the 30 days prir t departure MOVEMENT OF PET ANIMALS TO THIRD COUNTRIES. Fr flights utside the Eurpean Cmmunity the passenger must cmply with the special requirements marked by each cuntry fr the imprt f pet animals. In such cases it is advisable t cnsult the TIM r TIMATIC with each cuntry s cnditins AR ARGENTINA Dmestic dgs and cats travelling as pets, prtected with a Health Certificate fr the relevant animal, issued by the health authrities f the cuntry f rigin are exempt frm the requirements f the regulatins (arg-01) f SENASA (Natinal Agrifd and Health Quality Service). Animals ver three mnths ld must als be accmpanied by an anti-rabies vaccinatin certificate. Pet animals frm Africa and Asia (except Japan) are nt exempt frm regulatin ARG-01 (previus paragraph); they must always request authrisatin frm SENASA. The imprt f pisttacine birds (parrts, cckats, etc.) frm any rigin is strictly frbidden. The requirements t authrise the imprt f cats and dgs are as fllws: They must be accmpanied by an animal health certificate issued by the fficial authrity f the cuntry f rigin, drawn up in r translated int Spanish: 10 Identificatin details f the wner: name and surname, address. Identificatin details f the animal: species, sex, date f birth, cat, size and any identificatin marks. Cuntry f rigin, destinatin and transit, where apprpriate. A recrd f an anti-rabies vaccinatin will be required fr all dgs and cats ver 3 (three) mnths ld, which must have been dne at least 30 (thirty) days befre the entry date f the animal; fr animals vaccinated fr the first time, and with a validity f nt mre than ne year. If the animal is frm a cuntry that has fficially declared the presence in its territry f African Hrse Sickness and/r Rift Valley Fever t the Wrld Organisatin fr Animal Health (OIE), the fllwing certificatin: That at the place f rigin and within a radius f 50 (fifty) kilmetres n cases have been recrded in the last 3 (three) years f the abvementined diseases, r The animal(s) have nt been mved during this perid t regins affected by these diseases. The health certificate must guarantee that the animal identified was examined during the 10 (ten) days prir t travelling and did nt shw any clinical signs f diseases typical f the species. The wner f the animal must pay the duty established by SENASA fr the veterinary inspectin n imprt. Animals that cmply with the previus requirements will nt have t be kept in quarantine n imprt. Dgs, cats and birds that are imprted d nt need t be kept in quarantine, prvided that certain legal requirements are met. The Brazilian health authrities require the fllwing dcuments: Fr dgs and cats: The fllwing certificates issued by an fficial veterinarian (a maximum f 7 days befre entry f the animal int Brazil). Vaccinatin certificates: They have been vaccinated against rabies nt less than 30 days and nt mre than ne year prir t entry f the animal. The animal has its annual vaccinatins up-t-date (DHLPP, brdetella) Health certificate cnfirming that there are n knwn infectius r cntagius diseases in the place f rigin f the animals in the 40 days prir t their imprt. The animal must be fitted with a ISO cmpatible micrchip. If the animal arrives n a Saturday, Sunday r public hliday, special arrangements must be made. Fr birds: Certificate issued by the Animal Health Authrity cnfirming that the animal is free f psittacsis. These dcuments must be authenticated by the Brazilian Embassy.
