27 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS» We have made great progress genetically on Somatic Cell Score It has been and continues to be a good tool.» But, we have a new tool for genetic selection for lower incidences of mastitis and it is working out in the field.» To make the most progress in reducing mastitis it will take a combination of the best management practices along with a focus on the genetic side to give the best results.
