Ideally, IV fluids should be administered as close to body temperature as possible to all patients for better therapeutic results. The JorVet IV fluid warmer is placed over a short 8 segment of a standard IV line, where it will safely warm passing fluids to 100 F. It should be placed within 18 of the patient. Veterinary patients, either small in size or in possible hypovolemic shock, benefit greatly from receiving warm IV fluids (~100 F) versus room temperature (70 F) fluids. However, maintaining a ready supply of warmed fluids has been difficult. The JorVet Bullpen is an IV fluid warming station that maintains unopened IV fluid bags at a ready to use temperature of 100 F.
