1 VETERINARY POLYCLINIC, VADODARA INTRODUCTION: The Veterinary polyclinic Vadodara was established in It has emerged as a REFERRAL HOSPITAL in Baroda district for cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, different types of valuable birds, different reptiles like snakes,crocodile and wild animals. The hospital provides treatment and diagnostic services and carries out all kinds of sergeries. OBJECTIVES: 1. To provide treatment diagnostic services to small and large animals, birds, pets, reptiles, and wild animals both as outdoor or indoor patients.
2 2. To perform soft tissue and orthopedic surgery 3. To provide emergency services at the Clinic as well as in the field
3 4. To organize free clinical camps for large & small animals INFRASTRUCTURE AND FACILITIES 1. Infrastructure:
4 2. Facilities: 1 Sonography machine for large and small animals for gynecological problems and other urinary diseases. 3. X-ray machine for diagnosis of fracture and dislocation for small and large animals. 4. Cryo-surgery unit for cancerous tumor 5. Infra-red lamp for physiotherapy and nervine disorder. 6. Heat detector for large animals. 7. Metal detector for foreign bodies in stomach. 8. Fogger machine for fumigation for O.P.D. rooms and operation theater. 9. I.C. unit having oxygen unit for operation and intense treatment for serious cases.
5 10. Full phased operation theatre for small animals with Pulse oxymeter,multipara monitor,ceiling mount O.T light, Autoclave, Dental scaler, Thermocautery for different operations. Ceiling mount OT Light Suction Machine Dental Scaler Multi-parameter Monitor Latest Cautery Machine 11. Cattle shed and canal for sick animals and horses. 12. Indoor patient room for small animals. 13. Ramp facility for up lift of large animals in vehicles. 14. Mobile laboratory van with full phased instruments and medicines. 15. Disposal of bio medical waste system. 16. Post mortem room for large and small animals. 17. Highly technical and administrative staff One Surgeon, One gynaecologist and two Pathologists 18. Goat treatment unit having Delivery room with all facilities.
6 19. Modern Orthopaedic instruments for fracture surgery. SPECIAL AREA OF WORK Veterinary polyclinic,vadodara is a referral hospital of the district. The Polyclinic organises surgical and gynecological camps in different villager of the district and provides expert advice and treatment and carries out operations with modern instruments like sonography,heat ditector, cryo unit and cautery machine. etc. During kite festival every year, the clinic treats injured birds for 2/3 days; more than hundred birds are treated every year. The Clinic celebrates WORLD VETERINARI DAY every year with free of charge anti rabies vaccination; about hundred stray dogs,cats are vaccinated. This hospital also arranges PET EYE AND DENTAL CARE CAMP with the help of veterinary collage Anand every year and more than hundred dogs and cats are checked and treated. The Clinic checks and treats horses and dogs of many government agencies like police department,railways, central jail, central industrial security force, National disaster management force, airport authorities, etc. The clinic treats every year more than 20,000 animals free of charge in hospital and camps.
