However, Purchasers should be aware that an accurate Vendor declaration cannot absolutely guarantee that any animal or progeny from any animal is free from BVD or is not a persistently infected ( PI ) animal. Auctioneers cannot accept any responsibility for the accuracy or reliability of any Vendor declarations and no warranties or guarantees whatsoever are given by the Auctioneers. Category/ Standard Risk Level BVD Category 1 BVD Accredited / Individually Tested Negative BVD Category 2 BVD Herd Screened Negative Cattle are not pregnant and are either from an Accredited BVD-Free Herd through a CheCS cattle health scheme or Individually tested BVD virus free From a herd with a negative BVD herd status through a mandatory annual screening or certified virus free and Very low risk Low risk BVD Category 3 BVD Status Unknown All cattle not in either of the categories above (including from not- Risk unknown Please note, pregnant animals are always a greater risk and therefore cannot be assigned as category one, very low risk.
