Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry on the entry form. Dogs entered in the Amateur-Owner-Handler class will automatically be marked as eligible to compete in the NOHS. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the judge s book, steward s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner. Professional handlers*, household members and current assistants** to professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in any NOHS competition during the entire show. Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes. If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled group. If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for Owner-Handled competition and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner- Handled Best of Breed/Variety. If neither the Best of Breed nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are Owner-Handled competition eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch. If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all Champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex and then choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners. There will be a selection of Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in each Breed/Variety, each Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Breed/Variety winner will then compete in their respective group for First through Fourth Placements. The Miscellaneous Class Competition will be judged same as above followed by a Miscellaneous 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Group Competition. The Foundation Stock Service Class Competition will be judged same as above followed by a FSS 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Group Competition. All First Place Group Winners will be eligible to compete in Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed or Miscellaneous breed. FSS number or FSS registered litter number will be required for FSS entries. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants and household members of a professional handler. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show Competition. Judges Will Not Wait for Any Dog Holding Up a Class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. All Dogs Present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring. No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which this dog show is conducted. As specified in Chapter 12, Section 4 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, information contained on the entry form is required to be published in the club s show catalog. This information is also subject to publication in other media. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the event's Show Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil disturbances, national emergencies, health emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the owner(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to, snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including, but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made. 28 Building Access & Grooming Information Exhibitors may enter Gate #5 at the show site from 12:00 Noon on Thursday and all vehicles and dogs must be removed from the show site at the end of the show on Monday. Vendors may enter Gate #7 at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Exhibitors and Vendors may enter Gate # 5 at 6:00 A.M. Daily. Show Buildings will open at 7:00 A.M. Daily. No bathing of dogs inside of bathroom shower facilities. No space may be saved for others. Exhibitors must establish a grooming area no larger than the immediate needs for the number of dogs being exhibited. Excessive grooming areas may be reduced by the event committee. Stacking of crates may be required. No dogs left unattended on grooming tables. Exhibitors and handlers are responsible to maintain clean conditions in their grooming area. You must clean up after your dogs in outside areas. Clean and courteous behavior will help insure future use of these facilities. No private exercise pens are permitted inside the building, in front of the building or in the grooming areas. No crating in Building except ringside crating is allowed 15 minutes before judging and must be removed 15 minutes after breed judging. Crates have to be in designated area and must be attended at all times except when the exhibitor is in the ring. No grooming is allowed ringside. Crates left at ringside when breed judging is over will be removed by the Event Committee. There will be a tent to the left and at the rear of the Expo Building for overflow of dog crates for Obedience & Rally Exhibitors. Motels have been asked to notify us of any damages. The clubs will convene an Event Committee Hearing to deal with refusal to follow instructions, and we will recommend suspension for anyone found guilty of serious offenses. Event Rules No Practicing Allowed in Any Ring. No firearms are allowed. No strollers allowed in buildings. No Smoking within or around any of the show buildings on this site. All exhibitors are respectfully requested to conduct themselves responsibly on the event grounds and at the motel sites. Crates, tables & exercise pens are permitted only in designated areas. The show giving clubs reserve the right to move equipment in front of entrances, in hallways and in any unauthorized areas. There will be dumpsters and trash cans on the show site. Please help us keep the show site clean. DOGS NOT ENTERED AT THESE EVENTS MAY NOT BE IN THE SHOW BUILDINGS AT ANY TIME. No Fund Raising Activities will be allowed without prior written permission of the Show Chairperson. Food will be served on site. Wi-Fi and ATM available inside Davis Event Center & the Expo Center. Grooming Areas & Stall Rental Enter Gate # 5 for grooming areas. There is Free Grooming on concrete under permanent cover near Davis Arena. However space and electricity are limited. Also located on grassy rectangle between the Davis and Expo Building will be a large tent equipped with electric for grooming. This tent is for all National Specialties & Specialty Clubs. Please be prepared to stack your crates. The Event Committee reserves the right to condense space if it should become necessary. Please leave aisles open. No private x-pens allowed in grooming area. OUTER PAVED STALL RENTAL: The fee to rent a level paved OUTER stall for the four-day show circuit is $ These stalls have electrical access. Dogs may be left in the stalls overnight. You may bring your own locks and floor covering. Note regarding parking: A stall reservation includes the $5.00 parking fee for at the gate per day. If an exhibitor rents an outer stall, they are entitled to ONE RESERVED PARKING space that matches their outer stall. A RESERVED PARKING card will be issued upon payment confirmation, to be displayed in windshield of vehicle. Please don t forget this parking pass. OUTER UNPAVED STALL RENTAL: These stalls have uneven hard clay floors. Grooming may be done under overhang outside of stalls. You are encouraged to bring ground cover and locks for your stalls. These stalls have a reserved parking space in front of the stalls and can be rented for $65.00 for the four day circuit. INNER STALL RENTAL: There will be a limited number of inner stalls with electrical access available if needed with uneven hard clay flooring and dim lighting. Grooming may be done just outside of stalls. You are encouraged to bring your own ground cover and locks for the stalls. These stalls do not include a reserved parking space and will be rented for $50.00 for the four-day circuit. As the Agricultural Center charges the Kennel Club for use of each stall, absolutely no one will be allowed to set up in the stalls or use electrical outlets in the stalls without paying the rental fee. The reserved grooming area will be policed for violations. Stalls will be available on Thursday at 12:00 Noon unless previously arranged for special needs. Stalls are not available for daily rental. 30 RV Parking & Camping Rules RV lot available on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. RVs should enter Gate #7 Only. All tow vehicles and camping equipment must not extend beyond assigned space. No reserving or saving spots for other campers. No tent camping allowed. No ground fires, fire rings, or open flame grills. Please place trash in receptacles or dumpster provided by the Agricultural Center. All exhibitors and guests are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their spaces or will be asked to vacate their space immediately. Clean up after your pets, do not let them run free or disturb other guests. Drunkenness or lewd behavior will not be tolerated. No loud or boisterous activity after 11:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. No firearms, dangerous weapons, or fireworks permitted. No soliciting or commercial sales permitted. Showers available on site. Bring adapters. No electric cords across driveways. Reservations accepted on a first received basis and assignment of these spaces will be left to the discretion of the RV Chairperson.
