4 A Message from the Trial Secretary Welcome back to all our regular competitors and Judges, and a warm welcome to our new Judges and competitors who are trialling in Warrnambool for the first time, I hope you all have a successful and enjoyable weekend of trialling. I also wish to extend the Club s hospitality to our Judges, Stewards and Ring helpers so we look forward to seeing you in the clubrooms throughout the weekend. This is a very special year for our Club as we Celebrate 25 years of hosting trials in Warrnambool, a huge achievement considering our membership has averaged around 45 since it was formed many years ago. In the early days when clubs were required to run trials to remain affiliated with the VCA we initially ran only small Obedience trials so club members had the opportunity to trial on their own ground, these trials grew in popularity, then through the interest in the new sport of Agility by a couple of members the club introduced the Obedience/Agility format for March which we still have today. The interest in Agility/Jumping at the Club is increasing and this year we will see our highest club entry of 12 members competing, and 2 members in Obedience, to buck the trend I am hopeful the future will see Obedience numbers increase as well through new club training methods, and members trying out in Rally O so I hope this will lead to more interest Obedience at the club. Unfortunately this year we are missing a couple of our regular attendees and club supporters and stalwarts in the Agility/Obedience Community being Clive & Pam Makepeace, unfortunately Clive is out of action at the moment but I have it straight from him he will return to Warrnambool in November, so we wish Clive all the best for a quick recovery. For those aware of our situation regarding the rectification of our training ground, unfortunately we still do not have any news to report from our local Council, John & Donna are dealing with this so fingers crossed we have an outcome in the not too distant future. I wish to acknowledge the work of Andrea and Jordan Vallance who co ordinated and secured sponsorship for all of our trials in Our major Sponsors for this year are Sungold Dairy Products, Altegra for our new Gazebos, Cobber Dog food, Ridley Agri Products and Surfside Holiday Park & Shipwreck Bay Caravan Parks. Please see our sponsorship page for a full list of our generous sponsors, we thank you all for supporting the Warrnambool Dog Training School throughout Thanks also goes to all the club members for your hard work requesting and receiving donations from a number of our local suppliers. To our VCA Representative Mrs Pauline Gardner, and First Aid Officer John Fulton, assisted by Cheryl McKean, we thank you for accepting your appointments for the weekend. Once again thank you to K9 Entries and Greg Milner for the use of your programs for this trial and a special thank you to Melisa Champness (in coming Trial Secretary) and Karen Hourticolon for giving your time in the Office over the weekend. Thanks also to Camilla Sleeth for use of your Winged Jumps, Geraldine Kisielnicki for the Hire of your Wing Jumps, Agility Dog Club, K9 Agility & VCA for the Hire of the Timing Gates and to Portland Club & Janine Feil for the loan of your Tunnels and Jess Harmsworth for the Tunnel Bags. Thanks to Viv O Grady who was again the main Coordinator of the Stewards and helpers for the Trial, it has all come together nicely so thanks again Viv for your help with this and thanks to the members who have offered to Steward and assist during the trial weekend. Thanks also to Janine Baldwin and Monica Murphy for purchasing and preparing the Trophies. And last but by no means least thanks to everyone who has prepared and donated food to the Kennel Kitchen for the weekend, it is always a magnificent display of your culinary skills, and to Marg Kenna and her Kennel Kitchen staff for their outstanding work with catering for all the Judges, Stewards, helpers, and competitors during the weekend. The Trial cannot run without all of this individual support, I really appreciate the time and effort you have all contributed to make the weekend a success.

5 A REMINDER TO ALL COMPETITORS The trial is held under the rules and regulations of the Victorian Canine Association Inc., an Electronic version of which may be inspected in our club rooms. Whilst every effort has been made to avoid run clashes, they will happen at times. Handlers handling two or more dogs are reminded of your responsibility to notify the Assembly Steward of your situation in plenty of time before you are due to enter the ring otherwise you will be marked absent after three calls, it is your responsibility to be at the ring when called to assist the Judges and Stewards who will be working hard to keep the rings/classes running smoothly and quickly throughout the weekend. Split walks are shown in the Catalogue for all Masters classes, the Judge and the Trial Secretary reserve the right to vary this if required. All Competitors, thank you in advance for your assistance with the Agility/Jumping equipment changes to keep the rings moving throughout the weekend. Agility/Jumping Rings commence at 8.30 am, No Check in, please ensure you have collected your numbers before 8.00 am, and please remember you have the same competitor number for each dog over the two days. Obedience Rings commence at 9.00 am, Check in and Vetting 7.45 am to 8.30 am and am to pm both days The Kennel Kitchen will operate from 7.00 am each day from the Clubrooms. CAMPERS: Please ensure you are registered to Camp at the Grounds during the trial (a Council Requirement) please write your details in the Camping Register located in the Kennel Kitchen. Security has been arranged for Friday and Saturday nights only. The WDTS is not responsible for any personal items left overnight at the grounds. DINNER Saturday Night: A table has been booked at the RSL for Saturday Night Dinner for anyone who wishes to attend, if you would like to join us for dinner please let Marg Kenna know in the Kennel Kitchen by 1.00 pm Saturday so we can confirm numbers with the RSL. Now for some Trial Entry tips: Register you and your dog with the Trial Electronic entry system if available; Register you and your dog s once, you do not need multiple entries with your name setup in various different combinations; Enter your name and dog s name clearly in Upper or Upper/Lower case, what you enter is what you get in the Catalogue and on your pass card, the Trial Secretary does not have time to retype your name and dogs details into a suitable format; Spell your Dog s name correctly; Make sure you have entered your dog s Titles. Titles must be printed on pass cards so if you do not enter them, the Trial Secretary does not have to do this for you; If you decide to use Paper entries, make sure the form and your writing is legible, do not photocopy old copies of forms; The Multi entry form was designed for just that, seven class entries can be entered on the form, so why use a Multi entry form for one entry on each page, waste of paper and time; Always include a phone number or address on the Entry form so you can be contacted;
