4 PETS ACT Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act of STANDARDS FOR STATE AND LOCAL EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS OPERATIONAL PLANS. Shall ensure that such plans take into account the needs of individuals with household pets and service animals prior to, during, and following a major disaster or emergency.. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS MEASURES. PROVIDING ESSENTIAL ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS WITH HOUSEHOLD PETS AND SERVICE ANIMALS FOLLOWING A DISASTER. Approved October 6, 2006.
5 PLANNING EFFORTS Monthly meetings of the County Animal Response Team. Revision and Adoption of the Moore County Animal Response Plan. Revision of the Moore County Emergency Operations Plan. Community Education Equipment and Training Resources

7 EXECUTION NIMS Compliant to be activated as an annex of the Moore County Emergency Operations Plan. Upon notification the Director of Animal Operations will: a. Notifies staff & volunteers to report to Animal Center for credentialing and assignment. b. Assigns personnel to staff Co-located Shelter and Animal Center. c. Requests Emergency Management staff to move CAMET to Co-located Shelter. d. Notifies County Veterinary Alliance to open Emergency Treatment Facility. e. Alerts County Cooperative Extension Agent to activate large animal sheltering assets. f. Reports to the Incident Command Post or the Emergency Operations Center to direct CART operations.
