3 The Officers and Committee of Lowestoft, Oulton Broad & District Canine Society hope that your day will be pleasant and enjoyable for everyone, with particular care and concern for the safety and care of children and dogs, and the horses and livestock on site Please remember that not all dogs and horses are accustomed to children, and may be confused or distressed by demonstrations of high spirits, noisy play etc. It is, therefore, essential that parents remain with their children at all times, and ensure that they do not approach or attempt to touch any dogs without the permission of the owner, and that children are not allowed in any areas on site where horses are present. Children must not be allowed to roam around the site, nor should they use any facilities outside the precincts of the show EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE This show is NOT judged on the Group system. This means that ALL unbeaten dogs, i.e. the winners of BOB, Best AVNSC, Best AV and the winners of the two Veteran classes, providing they have not been beaten in any other class/es, will be eligible to challenge for Best in Show. Please note this is a Limited Show, and CC winners are NOT eligible for entry. All unbeaten puppies, i.e. those puppies not beaten by another puppy, from any class, will be eligible to challenge for Best Puppy in Show. N.B. Puppies which have been beaten by an adult dog in any class, providing they were not beaten by any other puppy, will be eligible to challenge for BPIS. There will be challenges in each Group for: Best of Breed, Best Puppy in Breed, Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified, Best of the Any Variety classes. Best Veteran (from classes 72 and 73) will not be chosen until after BIS has been judged. As this is a Limited Show, and under KC Rules and Regulations, dogs need not be entered in a Breed class before being eligible for a Variety class. This means, for example, that you can enter a dog in (breed) Open and another of the same breed in AV (group) Open. If your breed is classified, you are not eligible for the AVNSC classes. However, in the case of Dachshunds, as only AV classes are scheduled, dachshunds may be entered in the AV Dachshund classes or the AVNSC Hound classes. To be eligible for entry at this show, all the owners of a dog must be paid-up members of the Society, You may pay your membership with your entries. In the case of dogs owned in partnership, each registered owner must be a member of the Society. If you wish to bring dogs which you are not showing, with you to the show, please enter them on the Entry Form, as Not For Competition (Entry fee for NFC is 1.00). You must include all the details of these dogs on the Entry Form. In view of the behaviour of some children at our last show, which resulted in complaints from the Broads Equestrian Centre staff, we regret that unsupervised groups of children will not be allowed into the cafeteria. Anyone with children found to be causing a nuisance to dogs, exhibitors, the staff, livestock or horses on the site, or in prohibited areas, will be asked to leave.

4 MEMBERS' LIMITED SHOW CUPS & TROPHIES Cups & Trophies are confined to paid-up members only, and will be awarded to the winners in Breed or Variety of Breed Classes. Only dogs winning a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize are eligible to challenge for any Cup/Trophy. There is a non-refundable charge of 1.00 per Cup/Trophy. Cups may be collected from the Trophy Steward after 1.00 pm. Exhibitors please note: whilst in your possession, the cups and trophies are your responsibility; any loss or damage will result in a claim being made against you. 5 ABOUT THE JUDGES Lizzi Egan (Snowlief) I ve been involved with dogs since I was 6 years old, and for the past 20 years have had a specific interest in Samoyeds and Ibizan Hounds. I have attended seminars on all the Sighthound breeds, as well as Ibizans and Sloughis, and the KC judges seminars. My first judging appointment, for Samoyeds, was in 1992, and I have judged Hounds on a number of occasions since. I am on the judging lists for Ibizan Hounds and Sloughis. I have made up three Champions, and my Ibizans have won many top awards, including Top Ibizan in 2007 and 2013, BCCs at Crufts 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, RBCC Crufts 2009, BOB Crufts 2014 with Ch Snowlief Time Stands Still, who also won Group 5 at Brabo in Belgium the same year, and my Snowlief team were 2nd in the Breeders' Final at Crufts My eldest Ibizan Hound, Lottie, is a registered PAT dog. I am currently a committee member of the English Ibizan Hound Club, and produce their Year Book. Lorraine Sheppard (Polanca) I have owned Bull Terriers for 26 years and shown for the past 10 years at both Open and Championship show levels. I have had my affix for 10 years. My dogs have represented the UK overseas twice in team competitions. I have been judging for 5 years and am included in the B list for the breed clubs. My family has always had Terriers and it's the group of dogs that holds the most interest for me. Nicky Soanes (Whistlecraft) I have been showing GSPs since 1998 and have judged mainly GSPs and HPRs at numerous shows as well as other Gundog breeds. I have also undertaken HPR field trial training with a number of my dogs and feel that Gundogs should be fit for the purpose that they were bred for. Loretta Morley (Loroso) The first Chihuahua (Long Coat) I bought was in He won his Stud Book number at Crufts in The first Long Coat bitch I bought was in 1990, and she had her first litter in I started judging Chihuahuas in March 1994, and I now award CCs in Long Coats. I have also judged Smooth Coats at Open Shows, and have judged AV Toy classes at Open Shows. Gordon Leaver (Shogandale) I have had Lhasa Apsos for 20 years, and first became interested in showing about 15 years ago. I currently serve on the Lhasa Apso Club committee, and one of my tasks is to take photographs for the Club s website. I have judged at several Open Shows, and I am also an experienced steward. Outside of the Utility group I also love Beagles and English Bull Terriers. My interests outside of showing include photography and classic cars. I am very much looking forward to my day judging at Lowestoft. Amanda Jefferson (Karisoke) I have owned and shown Pembroke Welsh Corgis since the mid 70s when I was 8 yrs old. My parents had a Pembroke Corgi when I was born and so my love for this fabulous breed began. My first judging appointment was at S.W.E.C.A in 1988 and I passed my A3 Judging Assessment in I have also shown Boxers for my parents and I also own a Boston Terrier. I think it s important to encourage new people into the world of showing and to be educated. Jane Clark (Capel) I have owned and bred boxers since 1985 and bred my first champion Capel Molly Packs In in the early 1990s who in the same year she was made up also was Top Boxer Puppy and Won Top Puppy at the EAST ANGLIAN Top Dog Of the Year competition. I have also in the past judged some other working breeds at various open shows. I was for many years until recently on the committee of the Essex and Eastern Counties Boxer Club. I look forward to participating in the judging of dogs at your Limit Show.

8 RULES and REGULATIONS 1. The Show will open at am. 2. Dogs will be received at any time but it is the exhibitor's responsibility to ensure that exhibits are available for judging when required. 3. Judging will commence in all rings at noon. 4. Exhibits may be removed from the Show after their judging has been completed. The Show will close half an hour after all judging has been completed. 5. The use of cooking stoves in the proximity of the tenting and benching areas is forbidden except as authorised by the Show Management. 6. Entry fees: 4.00 First Entry, 1.00 each subsequent entry. NFC 1.00; Membership which must be paid: Single: 2.50; Joint: 3.00; Junior: Catalogues 3.00 pre-paid only (None on the day). 7. There is no Prize Money on offer at this Show. 8. The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. 9. Puppies under six calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition. 10. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden. 11. Best Puppy in Show: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended. a. Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy which has competed and is unbeaten by any other puppy exhibited at the same show. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Where the Best of Breed or Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Breed and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Similarly, if the Reserve Best of Breed or Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it will also automatically be Best Puppy in Breed and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Breed and Best Puppy in Show must follow the selection of Best of Breed and Best in Show respectively. Best Puppy in Show must be selected from puppies which have been judged and which are unbeaten by any other puppy. b. Withdrawal from Other Competition: Puppies which become eligible for Best Puppy in Show may be withdrawn from all other competition, other than breed classes and Best Puppy in Breed, prior to the competition for Best Puppy in Show in order to remain unbeaten. A puppy beaten in competition for Best Puppy in Show may be subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dog declared Best Puppy in Show, however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Puppies may be withdrawn from AV Classes when judged before breed classes. c. Proviso: For the purpose of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and team or a Special Award confined to one breed will not be considered to be a beaten dog. 12. Best in Show: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/ Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions are suspended. a. The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and is unbeaten by any other dog exhibited at the same Show. Best in Show must be selected from all unbeaten winning dogs. Reserve Best in Show must be selected from the remaining unbeaten winning dogs following the selection of Best in Show. b. Withdrawal from Other Competition: Dogs which become eligible for Best in Show may be withdrawn from all other competition other than breed classes and Best of Breed prior to the competition for Best in Show in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Dogs may be withdrawn from AV Classes when judged before Breed Classes. c. Proviso: For the purposes of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and Team or a Special Award confined to a single breed, will not be considered to be beaten dogs. 13. Exhibits will not be admitted to Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management. 14. No modifications will be made to the Schedule except by permission of the General Committee of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible. 15. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) - Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.

9 16. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 17. Dogs in Cars on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do s and don ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events. When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle. Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to refuse any entry. 18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered. 19. The committee reserve the right to appoint a substitute should the Judge be prevented from fulfilling his/her engagement. 20. Every exhibitor making an entry for this Show shall be deemed to have agreed to abide by the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations and it is on this understanding only that entries are received. The Kennel Club shall be the final court of appeal in the case of a dispute. 21. All dogs must be registered at the Kennel Club before the Show. No animal other than a dog duly entered for the above Show will be allowed within the precincts of the Show. 22. The Show Committee will be most anxious for the care and safety of the dogs entered and for any property entrusted to them but it must be clearly stated and understood that the Show Committee will not be responsible for the loss or detention of or damage to a dog or dogs, boxes or other property, whether arising from accident or any other cause whatsoever or for any act or omission of themselves, their officers or others and it is on this understanding only that entries are received 23. No passes will be sent out. 24. Any owner, competitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as possible any fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches. 25. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event). 26. A dog may be disqualified by the General Committee from any award, whether an objection has been lodged or not, if proved amongst other things to have been: a) registered or recorded as having been bred by the scheduled Judge, this shall not apply to a Judge appointed in an emergency; b) exhibited without payment of appropriate entry fees. 27. Every exhibitor shall ensure that whilst the dog is being exhibited, its handler shall display the correct ring number.

10 DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates are not on offer shall be counted as wins at Open Shows. In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Members' classes or competing for Members' Specials each partner must, at the time of entry, be a member of the Society. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing of entries shall be counted when entering for any class i.e. Monday, 13th April Wins in Variety classes do not count for entry in Breed classes but when entering for Variety classes, wins in both Breed and Variety classes must be counted. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value. If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, the exhibitor may choose one of the following options: (1) Withdrawal The dog may be withdrawn from competition subject to the conditions of Regulations 9(j) and 20. (2) Transfer a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its colour, sex, weight or height the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct colour, sex, weight or height and, in the event of there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy and Puppy excepted, to the Open class for the correct colour, sex, weight or height. b) If an exhibit is entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy class, Puppy class or Junior class, which is over age but under twelve calendar months of age, eighteen calendar months of age or twenty four calendar months of age respectively, the Show Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy class, Junior class or Yearling class respectively for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior or Yearling class to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height. c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open class for the correct colour, sex, weight or height. d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dog may not be transferred to any other class. PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. JUNIOR For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. GRADUATE For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or 4 or more First Prizes at Championship Shows in Graduate, Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open Classes whether restricted or not where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed. POST GRADUATE For dogs which have not won five or more First Prizes at Championship and Open Shows in Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open classes, whether restricted or not. LIMIT For dogs which have not become Show Champions under Kennel Club Regulations or under the rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club or won 7 or more First Prizes in all at Championship Shows in Limit and Open classes, confined to the breed, whether restricted or not at Shows where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed.) OPEN For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the Show. VETERAN For dogs of not less than 7 years of age on the first day of the Show. SPORTING For breeds confined to the Gundog, Hound and Terrier Groups. NON-SPORTING For breeds confined to the Working, Pastoral, Utility and Toy Groups. ADVISORY NOTICE NOT FOR COMPETITION Societies may at their discretion, accept Not for Competition entries. Societies may accept such entries from breeds of dog not included within the title of the Society and at Shows held over more than one day, such entries may be accepted on any day from any breed.

12 REFRESHMENTS There are excellent facilities, at good prices, at the venue Hot and cold food and drinks are available all day Please note: Due to the behaviour of some children at our last show, resulting in complaints from Broads Centre staff, unsupervised groups of children will not be allowed in the cafeteria If you have a folding chair, please bring it with you, as numbers are limited at the venue DIRECTIONS TO THE SHOW BROADS EQUESTRIAN CENTRE The venue is on the A146 between Beccles and Lowestoft. Approaching from Beccles it is on the left hand side. The entrance is signposted CHURCH FARM. Post Code is NR34 7QN. The car park has been resurfaced. If you need help with getting from the car park to the hall please do not hesitate to ask. N.B. Weather permitting, some judging will take place outside.
