2 INTRO In this presentation we are talking about the endangered species name Dhole which is a red dog that lives in the Middle East and India which there are only 2,500 left on earth. We will not only talk about a recovery plan to save them but we will also talk about that is a Dhole's environment, why it is threaten, and how is the government affecting them.

3 INFO GRAPH Dhole's population compare to the Great White and the Tiger's population... In the info graph the Tiger population seems to be the largest in the graph has they have 3,890 Tigers still on earth, next is the Great white shark population which they have 3,000. Finally is the Dhole population which is the least amount on the graph and there are only 2,500 left on earth. This graph demonstrate that even the most endanger animals like the tiger or the great white shark will not compare in size of the Dhole Species.

4 RECOVERY PLAN 1. The dhole is a canid native to Central, South and Southeast Asia. Other English names for the species include Asiatic wild dog, Indian wild dog, whistling dog, red dog, and mountain wolf. 2. Two important reasons likely are habitat loss and decreases in prey numbers, especially because dholes have such large area and prey requirements.... Additionally, dholes consume more ungulates than tigers and leopards, indicating they require higher prey numbers than any other large carnivore in Asia. 3. Main threats to the species include ongoing habitat loss, depletion of prey base, persecution and possibly disease transfer from domestic and feral dogs. The main prey for the dhole are ungulates, which have also suffered high depletion of their population across the dhole's range. 4. They are endangered because of habitat loss. There are many floods due to dam construction in India and people are cutting trees down for firewood. Human are hunting their prey. It was put on the endangered list in 2008 and there are about 2, 500 left To plant more trees get volunteers to protect the environment supervise humans so they don't take their kill 5. The only zoo that is helping in the United States is the San Diego zoo and they have a dhole-breeding program. The recovery plan will take many years to get the environment back but it won't take too long to get people to stop taking their prey and to volunteer to protect them. It will cost about 10,000 dollars to plant 10 trees 6. Another part of that would help Dholes if the government would force the rule more to protect the dholes and if not stockmen would be killing more cubs from den or villager's stealing the prey from the dholes.

6 ANATOMY OF THE THREATENED OR ENDANGERED SPECIES ANATOMY OF THE THREATENED OR ENDANGERED SPECIES - Basic Anatomy (color, weight, pictures, etc), Lifespan / Longevity, Special adaptations - additional traits that make them different from their close relatives. Also known as the Asiatic wild dog, the dhole is a species of wild dog found in eastern Asia from India to China and as far south as Java. Adults reach up to 45 inches in length. Females can weigh up to 35 lb and males can weigh up to 44 lb. Their coats vary in color and can range from a deep cinnamon to a grayish brown and even a creamy-yellow shade. There are also shades of white appearing on the throat, legs, and face. Females give birth to litter sizes of up to 12 after a gestation period of 60 to 63 days. Dholes are very social, and all members of the pack help with raising and protecting the cubs. Dholes live to years
