BEST OF VARIETY COMPETITION BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed (Variety) Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owners records. If at the end of the 90 day period the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by the American Kennel Club, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. SPECIAL NOTICE CLUSTER OBEDIENCE TRIALS & RALLY TRIAL With the approval of the American Kennel Club, Obedience Trial classes and Rally Trial classes at the cluster will be consolidated to provide maximum efficiency in scheduling and judging. The Judging Program will include a complete list of breeds to be judged, and the order in which they will be judged. All Specialties in this Cluster that are offering Obedience Classes and/or Rally Classes will be judged together. Each dog will be judged and individual scores recorded in the respective breed s judge s book. For the group exercises in Obedience, all breeds will be judged in one group. If there are more dogs competing than can be spaced four (4) feet per dog on one side of a ring, some must be judged in another group. The judge will divide the class into equal sections and the group exercise will be judged after each section. Following completion of group exercises, the judge will complete the judge's books for all dogs entered in each Obedience class in the respective breed s judge s book. Ribbons and awards will then be awarded by breed. Qualifying points in Obdience are based on the number of dogs in each breed only. OBEDIENCE TRIAL CLASSES BOTH DAYS Qualifying Score required for All Prizes in Regular Classes. A Dark Green Qualifying Ribbon "Dog" means either sex. No refund for bitches in season. Regular Classes (each day): Novice Class A Novice Class B Open Class A Open Class B Utility Class A Utility Class B. Non-Regular Classes (each day): Veterans Graduate Novice Brace. The regular entry fee will be charged for these classes. The particular class you desire to enter must be shown on the entry form. Dogs entered in the breed classes may also be entered in these classes by paying the additional entry fee. RALLY TRIAL CLASSES FRIDAY ONLY Qualifying Score required for All Prizes in Regular Classes. A Dark Green Qualifying Ribbon "Dog" means either sex. No refund for bitches in season. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE Animals left in vehicles will be monitored by County Control Officers and Club Members. If animals are in distress due to heat or any other circumstance, the vehicle will be forcibly entered, the animal recovered and the owner cited. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS REGARDING CORRECTIONS OR CHANGES TO ENTRIES: Corrections other than the specific changes listed in Ch. 11, Sec. 6 (i.e. sex of a dog, transfers between age specific classes, and move-up s to BOB or BOV) are the only changes to the entries superintendents or secretaries are authorized to make after closing of entries. Owners are responsible for errors in the entry forms, regardless of who may make such errors. THIS RULE IS BEING STRICTLY ENFORCED BY THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ENTRIES CAREFULLY. Corrections to entries may be made by the Superintendent prior to the closing of entries if such correction is submitted in writing. Exhibitors are required to report any changes/corrections after closing directly to the American Kennel Club. ENTRIES, CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES, TRANSFERS FAX ENTRIES: Fax number: $4.00 per dog per event added for FAX-Credit Card entries. Both sides of entry form must be transmitted. Entries must be accompanied by a cover sheet stating the number of pages, what shows and how many dogs per show. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted for Fax entries. Credit card information (Credit Card number, expiration date, and cardholder name) must be on cover sheet. Note: Visa and MasterCard users You must include the 3-digit security code that appears above your signature on the back of the card. Proof of fax transmission is not proof of receipt of a legible or complete transmission (under AKC Rule Ch. 11, Sec. 4). 8 SWEEPSTAKES The Sweepstakes is open to all Poodles who are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age at the time of the Specialty. All dogs entered in a Sweepstakes class must also be entered in a Regular Class or for Best of Variety Competition at this Specialty, at the regular entry fee. Sweepstakes Classification Each Variety Dogs, 6 months and under 9 Bitches, 6 months and under 9 Dogs, 9 months and under 12 Bitches, 9 months and under 12 Dogs, 12 months and under 18 Bitches, 12 months and under 18 Division of Sweepstakes Entry Money Each Variety Club shall retain 35% for expenses. Remainder will be known as the Sweepstakes Fund. Ten percent (10%) of the Sweepstakes Fund will be retained for Best in Sweepstakes (6%) and Runner-Up to Best in Sweepstakes (4%). After deductions, the winners of the six classes in each variety will compete for the Sweepstakes Fund for their Variety, which will be awarded to the first two placements as follows: First Prize...60% Second Prize... 40% First Prize winners of each Variety will compete for Best in Sweepstakes. Remaining two winners, plus second place winner of the Best in Sweepstakes variety will compete for Runner-Up to Best in Sweepstakes. VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES The Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all Poodles who at the time of the Sweepstakes are seven years of age or older. Dogs entered in a Veteran Sweepstakes Class need not be entered in another class at this Specialty. Veteran Sweepstakes entrants may be spayed or neutered. Veteran Sweepstakes Classification Dogs, 7 years and under 10 years Bitches, 7 years and under 10 years Dogs, 10 years and older Bitches, 10 years and older Division of Veteran Sweepstakes Entry Money Each Variety Club shall retain 35% for expenses. 9 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. The AKC will collect a $1.50 AKC Event Service Fee and a 50 cent Recording Fee for the first entry of a dog in all AKC licensed and member dog shows, obedience trials, and tracking tests. A show-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Recording Fees and Event Service Fees for the AKC. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Event/Recording Fees to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rule. Chapter 11, Section 2). Rally Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 3. Recording Fees. At every licensed or member club rally trial, a recording fee of $3.00 shall be required for each entry of each dog. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTER- NATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS The judging will start promptly. Dogs may arrive anytime prior to their time of judging, and may leave immediately thereafter, unless required for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or its Superintendent assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMPLETENESS OF ANY ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH ENTRANT. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for bitches in season. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. The Superintendent will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. The Superintendent will add a $20.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor or agent may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP SUBSTITUTION OF DOG. There will be an Administrative Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Showmanship at each show. Only dogs eligible for this show will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. Should Exhibitor NOT receive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, PLEASE notify the Superintendent at (360) or dogshows@dbamlg.com. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children on the day of the show. FAX ENTRIES Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Fee is $4.00 per dog per event. If the credit card charge is denied for any reason, an additional service charge of $20.00 will be added. FAX NUMBER: (360) This is for Fax Machine ONLY. Incomplete or illegible Fax entries are not acceptable as a valid entry in a show. Proof of transmission is not proof of receipt of a legible or complete transmission (under AKC Rule Ch. 11, Sec. 4). ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent.
