1 JUDGING PROGRAM EVENT # , Rally , Rally SILVER BAY KENNEL CLUB OF SAN DIEGO All Breed Dog Shows, Obedience Trials and Rally Trials Saturday, February 24, 2018 Sunday, February 25, 2018 FSS-Open Shows Friday, Saturday, Sunday 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar, CA Unbenched, Indoors Day of Show Parking will be $14.00 for cars only TRAVEL DIRECTIONS - TAKE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5, EXIT VIA DE LA VALLE, TO DEL MAR FAIRGROUNDS, RACETRACK. Enter by the Solana Gate. Watch for electronic Fairgrounds sign and Dog Show signs. No admission will be charged to see the show. No exhibitor will be permitted to clean or prepare dogs anywhere except at special designated exhibitor, grooming areas. Rings will be in the Bing Crosby Hall, Exhibit Hall, and O'Brien Hall. Guards will patrol throughout the show. No parking in fire lanes (which are 20 feet in front of buildings and in rear of buildings). No crates, pens, grooming or parking of vehicles will be permitted between the Bing Crosby Hall and the Exhibit Hall. Please bring your own chairs, as chairs will not be available at ringside. LOADING ZONE - Unloading/Loading Zone is in between Seaside Pavillon and Exhibit Hall. The clock tower has been relocated. OVERNIGHT SET UP AND MOVE IN PARKING REQUIREMENT - All units must be self-contained, no water or electrical hookups available. Security guards will be on duty. No holding of parking spaces for others. Exhibitors will be held responsible for clean conditions in and around their crates both during and after the show. Waste water may not be emptied on the grounds or drained into open containers. Any unnecessary argument or abusive language will cause forfeiture of parking privileges, without refund. HANDICAPPED PARKING is available to those with proper DMV plates. Handicapped parking is to provide easy (paved) access, not necessarily next to the rings. PARKING HOURS Specialty parking available after 1 pm Thursday. No entrance into buildings until 6 AM Friday. DOG SHOW TOUR - YOU'RE INVITED TO ATTEND! Please join us on a 10:00 AM dog show tour on Saturday and Sunday. See the breeds, meet breeders, owners and handlers. Tour meets 5 minutes prior to our departure at the Superintendent's table in Bing Crosby Hall. 8 SATURDAY The compilation of entries in each breed and the division by sex, has been carefully prepared for your convenience. However, the Club and the Show Superintendent assume no responsibility for its absolute accuracy. The figure following each breed indicates the number of dogs, bitches and Best of Breed Competition, in that order. Variety Group Judging will start at 2 p.m. in Rings The Groups will be judged in the following order. Any change in this order will be announced at the show. Groups may be judged two at a time. NEW EXHIBITOR BRIEFING - A New Exhibitor Briefing will be held. The briefing location and time will be posted at the Superintendents Table. Spectators are welcome to attend. OFFICIAL NOTICE - CHANGE OF JUDGE Under Chapter 7, Section 8 of the American Kennel Club rules, the following judge changes are being made. The owner of each dog affected has the right to withdraw his entry and have his entry fee refunded provided notification of his withdrawal is received by the Superintendent no later than one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. Ms. Osburn will judge Rally in place of Mrs. Anderson. Ms. Dutra will judge Novice A & B, Beginner Novice A & B, Graduate Novice, Preferred Novice, and Utility B in place of Mrs. Andrus. Mr. Queijeiro will judge Brittany, Lagotto, Pointer, English Setter, Gordon Setter, Irish Setter, Irish Red & White Setter, PartiCocker Spaniels, Spinoni, Weimaraner, Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, Greyhound, Otter Hound, Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Saluki, Whippet, Zolo, Briard in place of Mr. Gonzalez. Mr. Berger will judge Juniors in place of Mrs. Stansell. Mr. Queijeiro will judge Black & Tan Coonhounds, Bloodhounds, Borzoi, Old English Sheepdogs in place of Mr. Horn. However, the Club and the Show Superintendent assume no responsibility for its absolute accuracy. 16 AKC Code of Sportsmanship PREFACE: The sport of purebred dog competitive events dates prior to 1884, the year of AKC s birth. Shared values of those involved in the sport include principles of sportsmanship. They are practiced in all sectors of our sport: conformation, performance and companion. Many believe that these principles of sportsmanship are the prime reason why our sport has thrived for over one hundred years. With the belief that it is useful to periodically articulate the fundamentals of our sport, this code is presented. Sportsmen respect the history, traditions and integrity of the sport of purebred dogs. Sportsmen commit themselves to values of fair play, honesty, courtesy, and vigorous competition, as well as winning and losing with grace. Sportsmen refuse to compromise their commitment and obligation to the sport of purebred dogs by injecting personal advantage or consideration into their decisions or behavior. The sportsman judge judges only on the merits of the dogs and considers no other factors. The sportsman judge or exhibitor accepts constructive criticism. The sportsman exhibitor declines to enter or exhibit under a judge where it might reasonably appear that the judge s placements could be based on something other than the merits of the dogs. The sportsman exhibitor refuses to compromise the impartiality of a judge. The sportsman respects the AKC bylaws, rules, regulations and policies governing the sport of purebred dogs. Sportsmen find that vigorous competition and civility are not inconsistent and are able to appreciate the merit of their competition and the effort of competitors. Sportsmen welcome, encourage and support newcomers to the sport. Sportsmen will deal fairly with all those who trade with them. Sportsmen are willing to share honest and open appraisals of both the strengths and weaknesses of their breeding stock. Sportsmen spurn any opportunity to take personal advantage of positions offered or bestowed upon them. Sportsmen always consider as paramount the welfare of their dog. Sportsmen refuse to embarrass the sport, the American Kennel Club, or themselves while taking part in the sport.
