4 Race Rules Leaned on the CBA regulations (status ) Basically aiming for all categories: It is mandatory for the dog to wear a fitting harness for pulling or racing, harnesses for walking are not allowed. CANICROSS (CC) Distance 4 km 7 km The following categories are provided: Canicross women veterans: seniors: juniors: Canicross men veterans: seniors: juniors: from 40 years from 19 years to 39 years from 15 years to 18 years from 40 years from 19 years to 39 years from 15 years to 18 years If there are not reported 5 starters at least in the junior or veteran class, they will start with the seniors. The application of a school-aged boy or girl must be signed by the parents. The liable parents must confirm that the provided dog is not too strong, has a good character and does not endanger the adolescents. It is forbidden to change the dog during one stage. For the 3 day stage race a dog pool of two dogs is allowed, the change of the dogs is allowed only between the stages, but not during the stage! April *including 2x lunch and camping TIMING AND START The time is measured by time chip. Mass starts will be given on all three stages. The results of the three stages are summarized for the combined judgement of "Caniqueen" and "Caniking". REQUIREMENTS TO THE DOG In order to participate in a race, a participant must fulfill the following conditions: All dogs must be on the leash before, during and after the race. A collar that can be hooked as a full choke shall be prohibited. Retractable lashes are strongly prohibited. The length of the leashes may not exceed 2 m (when fully extended with a shock absorber). All dogs must comply with the local veterinary regulations at the handing out of the bib-numbers. Vaccinations must be valid. The pet passport with vaccinations must be provided on request. Participants must follow these rules, regardless of whether the organization is examining or not. In the case of an incident or accident, the owner is responsible for his dog. The responsible association or the local organizer cannot be responsible or liable for any problems under any circumstances. The accident insurance (of the runners) as well as the liability insurance for runners and dog are mandatory. The organizer cannot be held accountable for accidents or other damages caused by the dog and / or his owner. A participant who fails to comply with these regulations may be excluded from the race without warning or disqualified in hindsight. BEHAVIOR In principle the animal welfare regulations of the ARGE-TschO are applied. A participant must not act like an animal abuser against his dog. When an incident is seen with a participant or his animal, whether by a witness, on photos / videos or by the race management that results in disciplinary proceedings. In the event of a minor breach, this may be a penalty, in the case of a serious breach the participant is disqualified and expelled from the venue (see TschO). At changing direction, misconcentration or special circumstances like tricky trail sections (bridges, watering places, street crossings etc.) the participant can pull his dog on the leash but this only for as long as necessary, until the dog has overcome the object. This is also to show the dog the right way. This procedure can only be applied over a very short distance. Race officials may prohibit such action if there is no reason why such action is justified. The race officials are obligated to inform the race management about incomprehensible actions. That will make a decision. It is forbidden to support the dog from the outside in any way, whether by parallel walking, by bicycle or by any other means. A participant who claims external help in some way will be disqualified. EXAMPLES: A participant starts and waits on the trail for the following athlete to help him. A participant, who is subsequently started, assists the participant who started before him, except in case of medical need. A person on the bike or on foot who is already on the track before the participant to improve his performance. Calls are only permitted if the person remains on his or her place and is not in the finish area. This rule applies to all categories. A participant who is overtaken must take his dog aside and release the trail. A participant who wants to overtake another one calls "Trail!". The overtaking with his dog should remain on the one side of the track, the overtaken one on the other side. The participant must ensure that his dog does not harm any other dogs or participants. In case of aggression or just only playing, the participant must leave the trail or the start / finish area.

5 Race Rules OFFICIAL INFORMATION PANEL The organizer installs an official information panel with the following indications at each race: Agenda of the event CBA race rules + animal welfare regulations of the ARGE-TschO The official categories Possible changes The final classification after the event The penalties and disqualifications TRAIL SENTINELS The present trail sentinels watch the race and the maintaining of the race rules. They inform the race marshal about violations of the rules. They indicate the participants of possible dangerous passages. If necessary, they must provide first aid, organize a transport, either for first aid or for an admission to hospital. A participant who has a problem may approach every trail sentinel or contact the race management. Such incidents must be reported immediately to the race management. RACE MANAGEMENT The race management consists of: - The sports director of the discharging club - The trail chief of the discharging club - The responsible person for Stake-Out - The animal welfare director of the discharging club The race management examines complaints and misconduct and comes to decisions about that. A participant can be punished or disqualified because of a complaint by a trail sentinel, another participant or other members of the race management. The decisions are published at the official information panel. COMPLAINTS Complaints must be reported immediately to the race management. In case they are dependent of official information or announcement of the results, they must arrive not later than 30 minutes after the official information or announcement. The protest shall be addressed to the person in charge (the chairman/chairwoman or the sports director of the club) not later than 30 minutes after the end of the race in written form. Processing fee The amount covers the handling fee. The fee is not refundable, even if the complaint is accepted. The race management checks the details, intervews possible witnesses And then makes a final decision. The race management decides only about the canicross categories. Complaints regarding other categories are in the responsibility of the local event organizer. For the welfare of the dogs the trail can be shortend due to high temperatures (see TschO of the ARGE-TschO). DOPING Doping controls on both the runner and the dogs can be performed. ENTRIES Each participant commits as follows: - The entry form must be complete and correct including full address. - The registration has to include a chiplist of all dogs (including those which do not participate in the race). Otherwise the application is not valid. - Age and category have to be indicated truthfully. - He assures the organizer that his dogs are in best condition and healthy and that all required vaccinations according to the veterinary authorities are done. - He confirms that he has a liability insurance for himself and his dog. A copy of the insurance policy has to be added to the registration. - By filling in the entry form, he confirms that he has read the race rules and will accept them. - He/she confirms not to use performance-enhancing drugs (doping) neither for him- or herself nor his/her dog. The organizers are free in the organization of their event and do not have to justify their choices. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: By registering the participant agrees with the general conditions of participation. In case of a no-show there will be no refunds of the entry fee. The participant declares their agreement to the publication of their name in the participant list and the list of results. The participant approves of the usage of their personal data by any commercial third parties for the purpose of timekeeping. Photographs, films and interviews of the participants in radio, television, print media, books or photomechanical dublication made in connection with the event may be distributed and published by the organizer without any compensation. Participation is at your own risk. In case of registration by a third party (company registration, parent registration, relay registration), said person insures that the attendee has consented to the conditions of participation. The organizer cannot accept any responsibility or liability for damages of any kind, unless they happen on intent or gross negligence. This also applies to lost valuables, clothing and other objects. By registering and receiving the starting documents, the participant declares that there are no health concerns regarding their participation.
