AGREEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY: The Western Stock Show Association, its officials, officers, directors, employees and agents, hereinafter collectively referred to as Stock Show, and the Owner, Exhibitor, Associates, employees, their agents and/or representatives, hereinafter collectively referred to as Participants. AT NO TIME WILL STOCK SHOW ASSUME CARE, CUSTODY OR CONTROL OF ANY ANIMALS, LIVESTOCK AND/OR PERSONAL PROPERTY OF THE EXHIBITOR. AT ALL TIMES THE PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE FULL CONTROL, CUSTODY AND WILL CARE, FEED AND KEEP SAFE THEIR ANIMALS, LIVESTOCK AND PERSONAL PROPERTY, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF NATIONAL WESTERN AND THE SHOW MANAGEMENT. The Participants will be responsible and pay for any damages to Stock Show premises, facilities or equipment caused by the Participants and/or their livestock while on the premises of Stock Show. INDEMNITY: The Participants agree to be responsible for and pay, indemnify, save and hold harmless Stock Show and the City and County of Denver, against any and all loss, claims, cost and/or expenses, including reasonable attorneys fees, resulting from any loss or any claims or legal action of any nature whatsoever, whether or not reduced to a judgment, for any liability of any nature whatsoever that may arise against the Stock Show as a result of the operation, and/or the use of the premises including any acts of the Participants, or invitees or in connection with any of the rights or privileges granted by Stock Show to Participants, in this agreement and premium book, including any actions, without limitation, on any violation of patent, trademark, franchise, copyright, libel or defamation liability claim or suit including any claim or suit based upon the intentional, unintentional or negligent acts of the Participants, or invitees. The Participants further warrant that all copyright materials, to be performed or used during the term of this agreement, have been duly licensed or authorized by their copyright owners or agents and Participants agree to be responsible for all license and royalty fees incurred by reason of any performance or use of copyright materials and in addition to any provisions contained elsewhere in this agreement and premium book to idemnify and hold the Stock Show harmless from any and all losses and expenses incurred with regard thereto. The Participants will not be obligated to indemnify, defend or hold Stock Show harmless from any claim or demand which arises solely out of the negligent act or failure to act by Stock Show, its officers or employees. In addition, Participants will indemnify and hold harmless the Stock Show for all damage, expenses or liabilities incurred as a result of any expense, loss, claims, costs or any liability, including, but not limited to, consultant fees, legal or court costs, Stock Show management labor expenses and or cost, as well as expenses and or cost for blood, tissue, urine, hide and or carcass sampling and testing incurred as a result of Stock Show rule and regulation violations and all agreements here in, including, but not limited to unethical fitting, filling, meat tampering, illegal or non-approved use of drugs, medication and or prohibited substances as a result of Participants involvement in the Stock Show. Participants may also be sujbect to criminal charges. By submitting an application for entry, Participants agree to comply with all the rules and regulations governing National Western Stock Show as published in the National Western Stock Show Livestock Premium List. Further these provisions include total ownership of the entry for the prescribed number of days, continuous possession and care (Junior Division) and provisions against unethical fitting, filling, and/or alteration of conformation and color of animals, meat tampering and illegal or nonapproved use of drugs, medication and/or prohibited substance (criminal penalties for unethical fitting and alteration of livestock by tampering or sabotage or prohibited substance include up to eighteen (18) months in prison or a fine up to one hundred thousand ($100,000.00) dollars). (Refer to Section Colorado Revised Statutes) National Western Stock Show and Rodeo is a member of the North American Livestock Show and Rodeo Managers Association whose membership has approved the adoption of The National Show Ring Code of Ethics. Stock Show reserves the right to exclude any Participant from making an entry or competing or being eligible to win a premium, if he/she has been disqualified from competition in a member show of the North American Livestock Show and Rodeo Managers Association, or those Livestock Exhibitions, Shows and Sales that endorse The National Show Ring Code of Ethics, or has had a premium withheld or withdrawn on the grounds of rule violations involving deception, misrepresentation, fraud, sabotage, tampering or unethical fitting. Application for entry in National Western Stock Show acknowledges Participant has read the National Western Stock Show General Rules and Regulations; Junior Livestock Show Rules and Regulations; Auction of Junior Livestock Champions Rules and Regulations; specific and/or special division rules and regulations; and The National Show Ring Code of Ethics and agrees to observe and abide by these rules. The aforementioned Rules, Regulations and Code of Ethics apply to every Participant making entry in the National Western Stock Show. If Participant is a minor, Participant s parent or legal guardian must sign the National Western Stock Show entry forms acknowledging they have read the National Western Stock Show General Rules and Regulations; Junior Livestock Show Rules and Regulations; Auction of Junior Livestock Champions Rules and Regulations; specific and/or special division rules and regulations and The National Show Ring Code of Ethics and agree to observe and abide by these rules and regulations. Parent or legal guardian further acknowledges that they have read and explained to the Participant the Agreement of Responsibility and Liability and explained and cautioned the Participant on the penalties for prohibited substance, unethical fitting, sabotage and tampering of livestock. If Participant is making an entry in the Junior Market Division, signature of the 4-H County Extension Agent or FFA Advisor is required certifying the Participant is a member in good standing; and by signing the National Western Stock Show entry form the 4-H County Extension Agent or FFA Advisor is stating they have read the National Western Stock Show General Rules and Regulations; Junior Livestock Show Rules and Regulations; Auction of Junior Livestock Champions Rules and Regulations; specific and /or special division rules and regulations and The National Show Ring Code of Ethics and agree to observe and abide by these rules and regulations in respect to their participation. 4-H County Extension Agent or FFA Advisor further acknowledges that they have read and explained to the Participant the Agreement of Responsibility and Liability and explained and cautioned the Participant on the penalties for prohibited substance, unethical fitting, sabotage and tampering of livestock. I (we) have read and understand all aforementioned rules and regulations and The National Show Ring Code of Ethics as published in the Livestock Premium List and conditions of this agreement. I (we) certify the above information is true to the best of my knowledge and entries comply with all aforementioned rules and regulations in respect to my participation. PERSONAL RELEASE: In consideration of permission to participate in Stock Show events and restricted areas, the undersigned Participant on behalf of himself/herself, heirs, next of kin, spouses and assignees do hereby: Release, discharge and covenant not to sue the Stock Show, the City and County of Denver, sponsors, their officers, agents and employees (all hereinafter referred to as Releasees) from any and all claims and liability arising out of occurrences which cause the undersigned injury, death, damage or property damage. The undersigned covenants to hold releasees harmless and to indemnify releasees from any claim, judgement or expenses arising out of Participants activities. If Participant is a minor, releasor or parent or legal guardian of the undersigned minor agrees to release and indemnify the releasees from any loss, liability or damage or cost they may incur due to the presence or participation of the minor whether caused by the negligence of the releasees or otherwise. Gather cattle 2. Drive cattle 3. Execute obstacles remote from handler Each dog will have two opportunities to run the course on Thursday. Obstacles may be changed between runs. Dogs, based on their performance on the courses, will be divided into 3 classes: 1. Advanced dogs. Advanced dogs will be expected to run the course(s) completely without handler assistance. Sale order and eligibility for the advanced class will be determined by a panel of at least 3 judges. Opening bids for advanced dogs will be $2, Started dogs. Started dogs are expected to be younger dogs and should be able to gather without handler assistance but may require handler assistance to drive and to execute obstacles. Started dogs will sell after advanced dogs. Sale order and eligibility for the started class will be determined by a panel of at least 3 judges. Handlers who feel that their dog should be in the advanced class, but which are placed in thestarted class may withdraw their dog from the sale. Opening bids for started dogs will be $1, Sifted dogs. Those dogs judged by the judging panel to have health issues or to lack sufficient training orexperience to qualify for either the advanced or started class will not sell. No refunds of entry fees are provided for dogs sifted or withdrawn from the sale. 187

OPEN SHEEP USBCHA Sanctioned Trial ENTRY FEE: $80.00 PER DOG 1. Course will be announced prior to the handlers meeting. 2. All rules regarding the course will be reviewed at the handlers meeting imme diately prior to the event. 3. The top 10 will return for the final round. Points will not be cumulative from the preliminary round. Premiums will be paid on the final round to the top 10 contestants. First place will receive $500 plus a buckle. Second through tenth will be paid on a graduated scale. USBCHA points will be awarded on the preliminary round. 4. The Judges decision will be final. 105 Intermediate Sheep Trial 188

5 STOCK DOG TRIALS (continued) OPEN CATTLE NCA Sanctioned Trial ***NEW TWO (2) DAY TRIAL*** ENTRY FEE: $ PER DOG/PER DAY STOCK CHARGE: $15.00 PER RUN IN QUALIFYING ROUNDS The Open Cattle Stock Dog Trial will be open to fifty (50) dogs for the qualifying rounds. The top 20 dogs from the qualifying rounds will advance to the Open Cattle Finals. This will be a time and points trial incorporating Outrun, Fetch, Drive, and Pen work. Course and rules will be explained at the handlers meeting immediately prior to the event. Seventy-five percent (75%) of the entry fees will be jackpotted. Premiums will be paid to the top 5 places in the open cattle finals. First place will receive premium plus a buckle. Second through fifth places will be paid on a graduated scale. Class premiums will be paid out for the Thursday and Friday trials on the top five (5) dogs each day. 101 Thursday Open Dog Trial 102 Friday Open Dog Trial ***Must run in both trials to qualify for the final on Saturday, January 20, INTERMEDIATE CATTLE 40 DOG LIMIT ENTRY FEE: $75.00 PER DOG The Intermediate Cattle Stock Dog Trial will be open to 50 dogs. The course will be described at the handlers meeting. The Intermediate class is limited to handlers who are not competing and have not competed in an NCA sanctioned Open class. Any dog may compete in the Intermediate class, but may not run concurrently with another handler in any class. 103 Intermediate Cattle Dog Trial NURSERY CATTLE 40 DOG LIMIT ENTRY FEE: $75.00 PER DOG The Nursery Cattle Stock Dog Trial will be open to 50 dogs. The course will be described at the handlers meeting. Nursery dogs must have been bom on or after October 1, Nursery Cattle Dog Trial INTERMEDIATE SHEEP ENTRY FEE: $65.00 PER DOG The Intermediate Sheep Stock Dog Trial will be open to 50 dogs. The course will be described at the handlers meeting. Three (3) sheep will be used and standard USBCHA rules will apply. There will be a preliminary round and the final round will be determined by the number of contestants entered. This will be announced at the handlers meeting immediately prior to the event. Premiums will be paid to 5 places. First place will receive $350 plus a buckle. Second through fifth places will be paid on a graduated scale. 106 Intermediate Sheep Trial 189
