Movement correct, only a little bit clamped. Very nice character. Good drive. Overall very nice dog with friendly character. Very good. Slightly open lips, complete scissors bite, correct coat texture, black coat, slightly reddish in some areas, correct complete markings placement. Medium blonde markings, slightly darker on head. Weak in pastern, rear angulation ok, correct tail and testicles. In movement, closed in rear, and closed in front, but fluid. Gait in circle movement. Tail carried high in movement. Correct coat, medium long, markings complete and correct in all parts and very well defined, slightly reddish in some parts. Correct front angulation, straight rear angulation. Topline ok, nice movement, closed in back. Dog is ideal weight. In movement carried tail well, although a little sideways. Friendly and secure temperament. Excellent. 2nd (43) DRIFTINGSKY TORNADO (Plummer, Mr T) Three and a half year old black and gold dog. Small testicles (chemically neutered). Medium type. Correct ears, middle brown eyes, I2 and I3 missing lower left due to accident. Deep black coat correct in texture, complete markings, but very minimal on muzzle and chest. Some black hairs on paws. Straight topline. Correct front angulation, straight in the rear. In movement high stepping. Closed in back with good drive. In movement carried tail high. Friendly character. Deep dark coat, with correct structure. Lovingly fed. Correct angulations, slightly weak in pasterns. Topline a little soft, because of weight. Movement closed in front, closed in rear and narrow at hocks. Nevertheless fluent movement with drive from the rear. Very friendly character. Excellent. Ears correctly set on but carried open on the left side. Beautiful wavy hair structure, deep black. The bitch carries much too much weight. The tail is anatomically correct. Loose elbows, slightly steep in front. Narrow paws in the hind legs. Good

11 angulation. The dog would present herself much better with less weight. Friendly behaviour. Very good. 3 rd (9) KENZA VAN DE HOEVEMEESTER (Chong, Ms G) 10 months old black bitch of medium height, carries 4 kilograms too much. Typical head with medium brown eyes. Complete scissor bite. Low set but mostly correctly carried ears. Slightly wavy hair structure, very good length. The tail is anatomically correct. In the front there is steep angulation, loose elbows, and strong paddling. In the back slightly steep, correct movement. Brown hair on chest, back & body. Friendly and open behaviour. Good. 4 th (35) METSAVAHDIN ROBIN (Mooney, Mrs H) 9 months old, rather small, black & gold bitch. Typical head with low & deep set ears that are not carried correctly. Medium brown eyes, complete scissor bite. The tan markings are completely set and should be a bit cleaner on the leg. The coat is a bit too smooth and shows a bit red on the leg. Tail is anatomically correct and carried rolled in a bit. Slightly steep angulation in front and back. Shoulders should be tighter. Good movement in the circle. Calm and friendly behaviour. Good. Class 12 Junior Bitch 1 st (22) ZWARTBOS ARRETON (Gutjahr, E & T) 14 months old, tall blond bitch of medium type. Feminine head with dark brown eyes. Beautiful pigmentation. Scissor bite with lacking M3 on the left side. Correct ears. Bit open lips. Medium blonde slightly waved hair of correct length. The anatomically correct tail is rolled in. Bit steep angulation in front, correct angulation & movement in the back. Unfortunately the bitch has defective teeth which detracts from the excellent impression which she gives otherwise. Very friendly behaviour. But for the teeth: Very good. 2 nd (48) ZWARTBOS CHALE (Shone, Mrs V) 14 months old, tall, black bitch. Medium type. Good head with low set & sometimes carried back ears. Medium brown eyes, complete scissor bite. Good pigmentation. Dark black coat, slightly waved hair structure, medium length. Bit of white on the chest and on the toes of the hind legs. 17 1 st 22 PINES ENIGMA VARIATIONS AT HIGHTIMBERS (Spencer, Mrs M) 2 nd 11 PINES JONATHANCREEK NOV EX (Foakes, P) I would like to thank the Hovawart Club of Great Britain for their invitation to judge their Pre-Beginner, Beginner, Novice and A classes at the Limited Obedience Show held on the 13th October as part of their weekend club show. Thank-you also to Elinor Anderson who stewarded very efficiently for me. We had a very good day the weather was chilly but mainly dry and the competitors and club members were all very friendly. For many of the competitors it was their first time in an obedience ring but Elinor managed to guide the new ones safely round the ring! Thanks also for the very nice gifts given to us at the end of the day. We also had a great evening beginning with a demonstration of heelwork to music by Mary Ray and an excellent dinner afterwards. The results of the obedience were; Pre-Beginners 1st: No. 19 Pines Meditation. A very nicely handled and happy round from this team. A few bits of wide working but a clear sit and down stay gained them this place. Congratulations and Very Well Done. 2nd: No. 4 Hightimbers Sixpence. Unfortunate to compete with the above dog today as there was very little difference in the scores and another clear sit and down stay. Most marks in the heelwork were lost for a tight lead but otherwise a very good round. Very Well Done. 3rd: No. 6 Pines Ankhet. Another good round with again marks being lost for a tight lead and a bit of wide working. Clear stays. Well Done. 4th: No. 18 Driftingsky Tornado. I think this was this team s first time in the obedience ring and they coped remarkably well. Marks were lost for the recall and also a broken down stay added to the lost points. Nevertheless a very good effort. 5th: No Pines Jules Maigret. I think this was also this team s first time in the ring and they managed quite well the recall being the main loss of points. However, well done on having a go! Beginners 1st: No. 9 Unique Van De Romerweide. An excellent round from this pair from the Netherlands with very good and positive handling. Wide working the main loss of points but otherwise a very nice round to watch. Congratulations and Very Well Done. 2 nd : No. 17 Hightimbers Penny. Another very good round from this team with just bits and bobs causing loss of points with just 1 point between 2nd and 1st. I made a note on my score-sheet very nice handling Very Well Done. 3 rd : No. 12 Pines Chanel. A good round from this team a few marks lost in all exercises except the stays which were

18 clear. On the whole, all the stays in all the classes were good in spite of the noisy shooting. Well Done. 4 th : No. 19 Pines Meditation. This young lady was thrilled to get a place in this class as well as winning the Pre-Beginners. Unfortunately a dodgy recall caused a loss of points and had that not occurred it could have been a quite different situation! Well Done. 5th: No. 7 Hofwarth Devonsent. Points were lost in all exercises except the stays which were clear. Nevertheless a good effort by this pair. Well Done. Novice 1st: No. 23 Hightimbers Dollar. The best round of the day from this team. A very young bitch with wonderful attention and accuracy lovely to watch. They will surely go far in obedience.
