3 RIBBONS AND ROSETTES Ribbons awarded for each placing within the obedience (regular and titling classes) and rally classes shall be awarded only to a dog that earns a qualifying score. Dark Green Ribbon COMPLETED TITLES- OBEDIENCE AND RALLY A turquoise and white rosette will be awarded to anyone completing any title at this trial. These may be picked up at the ring gate table immediately following the awarding of the class (or may be awarded by the judge in the ring) PRIZES Except where other-wise specified, prizes will be cash offered by individuals or contributions to the general trophy fund. All donors and sponsors will be recognized in the catalog. All prizes will be awarded only to a dog with a qualifying score. OBEDIENCE AND RALLY CLASS TROPHIES A cash prize will be awarded for all placements in regular obedience classes. A dog toy or similar item will be awarded for all placements in all obedience and rally classes. OBEDIENCE REGULAR CLASSES ONLY BREED TROPHIES A prize will be awarded to the highest scoring dog in each breed (varieties excluded) represented. HIGHEST SCORING DOG IN TRIAL Blue and Gold Rosette $30.00 cash Nancy Pollock Memorial Award The Nancy Pollock Memorial Award has been created to recognize and honor contributions made by the late Nancy Pollock to Sandia Dog Obedience Club. The Award shall be given annually at the Spring SDOC Obedience Trial to the Highest Scoring Dog in the Trial. The exhibitor (owner or agent) shall be awarded a prize at the Trial and names of the winners shall be displayed on a plaque at the SDOC training site. HIGHEST COMBINED SCORE- OPEN B AND UTILITY A OR B Blue and Green Rosette $40 cash The Couples Award The Couples Award has been created to recognize and honor the contributions made by couples of the club. Each year a couple in the Club s history will be recognized by this award for the Highest Combined Score in Open B and Utility A or B. The exhibitor (owner or agent) shall be awarded a prize at the Trial and names of winners shall be displayed on a plaque at the SDOC training site. 4 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS OBEDIENCE AND RALLY TRIAL RULES 1. Fees must accompany entries. Sandia Dog Obedience Club assumes no responsibility for incomplete or inaccurate information on the entry form or for a dog being entered in a class for which it is not eligible. 2. Entries must be on the most current official American Kennel Club entry form. Conditional, unsigned, incomplete, telephone, facsimile or ed entries will not be accepted. 3. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee 4. Entry fees will be refunded for bitches that come into season after the closing date of the trial. The trial secretary must be notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class in the trial and signed documentation from the bitch s veterinarian must be submitted to the trial secretary before the fees will be refunded. 5. All mail must be addressed to the Trial Secretaries address which since it is a post office box can only accept mail sent via USPS. Priority and Express mail must be sent with a waiver of signature requirements. 6. The Trial Committee may decline any entry for cause or may remove any dog on account of sickness or other cause and no one shall have any claim or recourse against Sandia Dog Obedience Club or any official thereof, nor the Trial Secretary 7. Sandia Dog Obedience Club is not responsible for the loss or damage to any dog exhibited, whether it results from an accident or other cause. It is to be clearly understood hat every dog at this trial is in the care, custody and control of the owner or his/her agent at all times. 8. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging 9. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring at the appropriate time. It is not the responsibility of the ring steward or any other officer or agent of the club to locate any dog for judging 10. Class placement ribbons and prizes will be awarded in the judging rings to the person exhibiting the dog, who will be considered to be the owner or agent of the owner. Prizes awarded for competition between classes will be awarded after completion of judging all classes at the trial. All prizes must be picked up the day of the trial; none will be mailed. 11. In the event of a tie score for any award, it will be the responsibility of the handler to have the dog available for a runoff. Any dog not present for the runoff forfeits its right to the award. 12. No double handling will be permitted at this trial. Individuals who attempt to double handle form outside the ring will be subject to action by the Trial Committee 13. A Recording fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 for each recordable single entry class are included in the entry fees in the Obedience trial. Rally entry fees in clued and AKC recording fee of $3.50 for the first entry and $3.00 for each additional entry of the same dog in Rally. These fees are paid the American Kennel Club. 14. The Trial Committee reserves the right to cancel the trial in the event of extreme weather conditions as per AKC directive dated July 23, Members and officers of the SDOC, trial committee members, the trial secretary, and family members of those listed will be allowed to show dogs at these trials. 16. All exhibitors are expected to clean up after their dogs at this trial site. Those failing to do so will be subject to official action 17. NO DOGS MAY BE LEFT IN BUILDING OVERNIGHT. DUE TO A CHANGE IN FAIRGROUND SECURITY, ALL DOORS WILL BE LOCKED FROM 10PM TO 6AM EACH DAY PARKING The regular parking fee at Expo New Mexico is $5.00 per entry. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e, age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his/her name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to the AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Section 3.) 5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience, and Rally trials should mark Breed as All-American Dog/Mixed Breed. Sire and Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
