A $50.00 cash award will be offered in Fran s memory and the owner s name and puppy s name will be engraved on the memorial trophy, which will remain with LDKC. The dog must be owned by the handler at the closed of entries. It may be co-owned provided that it is handled through all classes by one of the co-owners. KINKO HIRONAKA MEMORIAL TROPHY (OBEDIENCE) -- The Lethbridge & District Kennel Club is pleased to offer this trophy for the high aggregate score from the 3 trials from either the Novice A or Novice B obedience classes (all qualifying scores must be earned from the same class). Ties will be broken to assure a single winner. A keeper trophy will be awarded and the owner s name and name of dog will be engraved on the memorial trophy, which will remain with LDKC. BREED BOOSTERS & EXTRA PRIZES BREED BOOSTERS ALL POODLES -- The Poodle Club of Alberta is pleased to boost the entry in Poodles (Toy), Poodles, (Miniature) & Poodles (Standard) on Sunday, November 20 under RICHARD PAQUETTE. Rosettes and prizes will be offered for BB, BOS, BP, BBP, WD, WB, RWD, RWB (in each breed). RALLY OBEDIENCE HERDING DOG - Andrea Knibbs, Connemara Shelties, is pleased to offer a prize to the Highest Scoring Herding dog in Rally Obedience on Sunday. In the case of a tie, the dog with the fastest qualifying score will be awarded the prize. Special Non-Qualifying Bonus! LDKC is offering a $5.00 coupon for each non-qualifying score in either Rally or Obedience. Each exhibitor must present their non-qualifying score sheet to the Trial Secretary to receive the Non-Qualifying Bonus Coupon. This coupon may be used to reduce the entry fee for any LDKC event (expiry December 2017). And yes, if you miss qualifying more than once, we WILL give you a coupon for each non-qualifying score! ATTENTION: If you received one of these coupons at a previous LDKC event, you must quote the Coupon Code on each entry (paper or online) to get the discount.

JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Saturday - during the lunch break ATTENTION: CKC JUNIOR HANDLING RULES EFFECTIVE JAN. 1, Section Junior Handler with the exception of PeeWees, must apply to CKC Head Office on the appropriate form for a Junior Handling Number within 30 days of competing in their first Junior Handling event. This Junior Handling Number will be used by the Junior Handler for the duration of their Junior Handling career. If a Junior Handler Number is not obtained, Junior Handling points earned will not be tracked. Classes Offered: Pee Wee (non-competitive) / Junior Novice / Intermediate Novice / Senior Novice / Junior Open / Intermediate Open / Senior Open. Age Structure: Pee Wee (4-6 years), Junior (7-11 years), Senior (12-18 years). Entry Fee: $2.00 payable at registration. Entries will be taken Saturday, 10:00-11:00 a.m. Dogs handled in the competition must be entered in the show/trial on that day. The LDKC will be offering a rosette for Best Overall Junior Handler.

Tendering of an NSF cheque or declined credit card in payment of entry fees shall be considered non-payment of entry fees and is an offense punishable by disciplinary action and cancellation of awards by the CKC. Attention US Exhibitors: Current exchange rate favors the American dollar. To take full advantage of this, please purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Personal cheques will be accepted, however they must be payable in US funds, and for the full amount of the entry. CLASSIFICATIONS The following CKC CONFORMATION classes (divided by sex) will be provided: Junior Puppy for dogs 6 months of age but under 9 months of age Senior Puppy for dogs 9 months of age but under 12 months of age Months for dogs 12 months of age but under 18 months of age Canadian Bred for dogs born in Canada; champions in any country excluded Bred By Exhibitor for dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder for this class, but need not handle the dog for further awards. Open for all dogs. Specials Only for any dog who is a Canadian Champion. A CKC Registration, ERN or MSC number must be indicated on the entry form at time of closing. The entry of a listed dog in Specials Only is not allowed. Baby Puppy for dogs 3 months of age but under 6 months of age. These puppies do not compete for championship points. Puppies need not be entered in Exhibition Only. There is no listing fee payable on Baby Puppies. Exhibition Only dogs entered in this class may not compete in any regular class but may enter and compete in Non-Regular classes and/or Parades if provided for in this premium list. Exhibition Only puppies 3-6 months of age may be entered in Exhibition Only 3-6 Months provided the Owner has also entered an eligible dog (3-6 months) in a Regular Class. These puppies may participate in Sweepstakes, if offered. **** NEW **** CANINE COMPANION NUMBER (CCN) A CCN allows mixed breeds and unrecognized breed dogs to participate in the CKC Performance Events: Agility, Obedience & Rally O. To enter any trial, the dog MUST have a CC Number prior to entering the event. A dog in this category may not be entered as Listed. The application form for the CCN can be found on the CKC website, under Forms On-Line, Registration. For more information and to register go to this link: DAY OF TRIAL ENTRIES Day of Trial entries for obedience or rally will be accepted each day if the limit has not been reached, on a first come, first served basis, beginning at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of each trial and ending 30 minutes prior to the start. No person who has previously trained or exhibited a dog through its C.D.X. (Companion Dog Excellent) title shall be allowed to handle a dog in this class. Novice B This is for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has not earned the title of C.D. (Companion Dog). Dogs in this class may be handled by any person. More than one dog may be entered by any handler, but each dog must have a separate handler for the group exercises. No dog may be entered in both the Novice A and Novice B class at any one trial. Open A This is for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of C.D. but has not earned the title of C.D.X. (Companion Dog Excellent). Only one dog may be entered in this class by any one exhibitor. The dog must be handled by the owner or a member of his immediate family. Any person who has previously trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a U.D. title may not handle a dog in this class.

9 Open B This is for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of C.D. in Canada. Dogs in this class may be handled by any person. More than one dog may be entered by any handler, but each dog must have a separate handler for the group exercises. No dog may be entered in both Open A and Open B at any one trial. A dog that has earned the title of C.D.X. must compete in Open B. Dogs eligible for entry in the Utility Class are also eligible for entry in this class. Utility A This is for any dog of any recognized or listed breed that has earned the title of C.D.X., but has not earned the title of U.D.. The dog must be handled by the owner or a member of his immediate family. Any person who has trained or exhibited a dog that has earned a M.O.T.C.H title may not handle dogs in this class. Handlers may enter more than one dog in this class. Utility B This is for any dog of any recognized or listed breed that has earned the title of C.D.X. or U.D. Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. Owners may enter more than one dog in this class. No dog may be entered in both Utility A and Utility B at the same trial. Pre Novice This is for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has not earned the title of P.C.D (Pre-Companion Dog). Dogs in this class may be handled by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class and must have an additional handler for each dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercise. A dog that has earned the title of C.D. is not eligible for this class. This class is an elective class and earning the title is not a requirement to advance to the Novice Classes. Novice C This is for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of C.D., C.D.X., U.D., or any Obedience Trial Championship Title prior to the closing date of the trial in which it is to be entered. Dogs in this class may be handled by any person. More than one dog may be entered by any handler, but each dog must have a separate handler for the group exercises. Dogs may compete in the Novice C class indefinitely. Scores earned by dog in the Novice C Class are not eligible for High in Trial and do not qualify a dog for any title. Novice Intermediate This is for any dog of any recognized or listed breed which has earned the title of C.D., C.D.X., U.D., or any Obedience Trial Championship. Scores earned by dogs competing in this class are not eligible for High in Trial. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. This class is an elective class and earning the title is not a requirement to enter the Open classes. UNOFFICIAL CLASSES - OBEDIENCE Veterans Class: for any dog that has earned the title of CD or higher and is 7 years or age or older on the day of the trial. This class is performed and judged in the same manner as the Novice Class. Dogs must also be entered in a regular Obedience Trial class or for Exhibition Only. The following CKC RALLY OBEDIENCE classes will be provided: Rally Novice A Dogs entered in this class may not have won a CKC Rally Novice (RN) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or member of their immediate family. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Dogs that have earned titles or are not the owners may enter in the Novice B class. All exercises are judged on leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. Rally Novice B Any dog may compete in this class until a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced class has been earned. The owner or any person may handle dogs in this class. All exercises are judged on leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Rally Intermediate This class shall be for dogs that have earned the Rally Novice (R.N.) title. A dog completing the R.I. or any other Obedience or Rally titles may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. Rally Advanced A This class is for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (RN) title but have not won the Rally Advanced (RA) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their immediate family. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Rally Advanced B This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (RN) title. Upon completing the Rally Advanced (RA) title a dog may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any person may handle dogs in this class. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Rally Excellent A This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (RA) title, but have not won the Rally Excellent (RE) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. A dog may not be entered or exhibited in this class after official notification from the CKC that the dog has won the title (RE). No dog may be entered in both Rally Excellent A & B at any one trial. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner or member of their immediate family. All exercises are judge off leash and the dog must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. Rally Excellent B This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (RA) title. A dog may compete in this class indefinitely. Any person is allowed to handle a dog in this class. All exercises are judged off leash and dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. For information only: Rally Advanced Excellent title -- Upon completion of the Rally Excellent title, qualifying scores may be accumulated from Rally Advanced B and Rally Excellent B to earn the Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title. To receive the RAE title, a dog must qualify ten (10) times in both Rally Advanced and Rally Excellent at the same trial. The title will appear at the end of the dog s name and a numeric designation will indicate the number of times the dog has met the requirements, i.e. RAE2, RAE3, etc. To be eligible to compete in these Obedience or Rally Obedience trials, the dog must be 6 months of age and registered or be eligible for registration with the CKC, have an ERN, PEN or a CKC Miscellaneous Certificate number. A dog may be spayed, neutered or debarked.

10 ATTENTION - ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER Effective Jan/1992 all dogs that are foreign-born and foreign-owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an ERN - Event Registration Number. This ERN does not register a dog with CKC for breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables a foreign-owned dog to be awarded titles by the Canadian Kennel Club. Each dog must have its own number. To obtain an ERN, mail or fax a photocopy of the dog's foreign registration certificate with cheque or VISA/MasterCard number (expiry date, cardholder's name and signature). Provide your complete address for return of the ERN to you. Cost is $59.40 plus 5% GST. ERN MUST BE APPLIED FOR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF FIRST DAY OF ENTERING A CKC EVENT. A CKC ERN registration form can be downloaded from the CKC website: CKC FAX NUMBER (416) CKC Non-Member Participation Fee - ( ) a) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. b) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. c) "these fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by Canadian resident non-ckc members and are not applicable to CKC members" *Please note that the CKC Membership Application and the Non-Member Participation Fee forms are available on the website, under CKC Services and then Forms On-line. If submitting a Membership Application, please ensure that you also complete the Non-Member Participation Fee form so that we are aware of the dogs involved. This fee does not have to be paid before entering this show. MOVING A CLASS DOG TO SPECIALS A dog which is individually registered in the records of the CKC or that has a Miscellaneous Certification Number (MCN) and has completed the requirements for a championship in accordance with these rules but at the time of closing of entries for show has not received confirmation of the title, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to Specials Only providing the transfer is submitted to the Show Secretary in writing by the order/handler at least one (1) hour prior to the opening of the show. When one or more all-breed championship shows and/or specialty shows are held on the same date in the same venue, the request for moving of class dogs to specials must be made a minimum of one (1) hour prior to the scheduled start of the show for which the dog is being moved up to. WITHDRAWAL OF ENTRIES Please note: An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry up to the closing date and time as published in the premium list. This may be done by telephone but written or electronic notification must be received by the Show Secretary no later than the official closing date and time. If written notification is not received by that time, the dog will remain entered in the show. ERRORS IN ENTRIES An error in an age-specified class, date of birth or sex, may be amended up to one hour before the start of the show. SCENT HURDLE TOURNAMENT Saturday, after BIS/HIT Judging A scent hurdle tournament will be held on Saturday after the conclusion of BIS/HIT. Dog Show Rule books and Obedience/Rally Trial regulations are available from the Canadian Kennel Club. 2. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the show which will be governed by CKC rules. 3. ENTRIES WILL BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY after entry closing, with receipt, judging schedule and exhibitor passes. If such acknowledgement is not received one week before the show date, please contact the Show Secretary. 4. It shall be the duty and obligation of the show-giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer or any participant at an event held under these rules is not subject to indignities CKC rule book, Section ENTRY FEES SHALL NOT BE REFUNDED AFTER THE CLOSING DATE in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. If because of riot, civil disturbance, or other acts beyond the control of the Club, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry will be made. 6. ENTRY FEES WILL BE REFUNDED WHEN A BITCH ENTERED IN OBEDIENCE OR RALLY COMES INTO SEASON after entry of the bitch has been submitted if a Veterinarians certificate, certifying that the bitch was in season within the ten day period preceding the trial, is delivered to the Show Secretary on or before the date of the trial. 7. ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON LEASH WHILE ON THE GROUNDS. You are responsible for cleaning up if you permit your dog to relieve itself outside the show building. Failure to do so may result in being expelled from the building for one day s showing by the Superintendent. 8. All empty rings are to be kept free of dogs. 9. SHOW PRECINCTS shall be the entire North Pavilion, Exhibition Park. 10. ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT UNDER CONTROL AT ALL TIMES. If not in competition the dog must wear a collar and be on leash a maximum of six (6) feet or appropriately confined in the benching area. ATTENTION: building opening/closing times open 6 am sharp, and close at 11 pm sharp Dogs may be left in the building overnight, so long as they are crated and owners/handlers leave a phone number where they can be reached in case of emergency on EVERY crate. ANY EXHIBITOR WHO FAILS TO PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION MAY BE EXCUSED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEKEND.
