AFTER THIS TIME, YOU MUST CONTACT THE SUPERINTENDENT ON SITE. CONFORMATION: Dogs may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is presented to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP: Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship juding at the show. Correction may be made from one age division to another, provided this transfer must be made to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship class at the show. OBEDIENCE OR RALLY: A transfer (i.e., from an obedience class to an obedience class; or a rally class to a rally class) may be requested if, according to the owner s records the handler and dog are eligible provided the club offers transfers. Transfers from an A to B class at the same level are allowed provided the host club allows transfers. The request for a transfer must be in writing and presented to the superintendent or trial secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial. Clubs may choose to accept transfers prior to the day of the trial and this should be clearly stated in the premium list. Transfers may be approved provided the class and judge are available, and the class has not reached its limit. New Exhibitor briefing will be held on Saturday, 11:45AM at the Superintedent s table. 3 AKC NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers. All dogs that are owner-handled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers* meet the requirements for this competition. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the judge s book, steward s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner. Professional handlers, household members and current assistants** to professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in any competition during the entire show. Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes. If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled group. If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for Owner-Handled competition and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety. If neither the Best of Breed nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are Owner-Handled competition eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch. If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all Champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex and then choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners. If Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are not eligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog remaining in the ring including Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as Owner-Handled Best of Breed/ Variety. If the Best of Winners is eligible, the other Winner is ineligible since it was defeated. No class dogs other than the Winners Dog & Winners Bitch are eligible to return to the ring. The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog competing in the Best of Breed or in Best of Winners competition. *Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years **A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. RINGSIDE CRATING AND RESERVED GROOMING Crates and dogs allowed in Holding s next to the rings immediately prior to their scheduled breed judging and must be removed immediately following judging. NO CAMPING OUT AT RINGSIDE. Non-reserved grooming spaces are available at no charge. Non-reserved day grooming: No electrical will be available, no equipment or dogs may be left overnight in Non-reserved grooming spaces. Non-reserved grooming is first come first serve each day and no saving of spaces. All grooming spaces will be designated with tape on the floor. Do not follow the parking strips. Electrical outlets and exercise pens will be allowed in RESERVED GROOMING SPACES ONLY. Grooming and crating area aisles must remain open at all times and control of these areas will be the responsibility of SKC. The club reserves the right to rearrange set ups to maximize available space. Show building will be available for set up from 3:00PM to10:00 PM on Friday March 9, Doors will be locked at 10:00 PM Friday and 10:00 PM on Saturday. Access to the grooming area Saturday and Sunday will be 6:00 AM Seattle Kennel Club ANNOUNCES PEE-WEE HANDLING Pee-Wee Handling competition will be held during the lunch hour on Saturday March 10th No entry fee required. All entrants need to be at ringside at 12:00. A responsible adult must accompany each child. Judge Tammie Wilcox Eligibility: All boys and girls at least 5 years old, and under 9 years old on the day of the event. All dogs must be at least 4 months old. AKC registration is not required. All entrants enter the ring one at a time to present their dog to the judge. Each child will receive a participation ribbon. Limit of 15 Participants JUDGING WILL BE HELD DURING BREAK IN RING 5 REGISTRATION WILL BE TAKEN AT THE CLUB TABLE SATURDAY MORNING, STARTING AT. EACH ENTRANT WILL BE REQUIRED TO FILL OUT AN ENTRY FORM. IN ADDITION TO AN ENTRY, A RELEASE MUST BE SIGNED BY THE CHILD S PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. NO ENTRY FEE. PeeWee Entries are open to All Breeds, including Miscellaneous and FSS Breeds, and All-American Dogs listed in the AKC Canine Partners Program. SHOW INFORMATION Lower floor of show site will be available to exhibitors for set-up from 3:00PM to 10:00PM Friday, March 9. Upper floor available for Education Booth set-up from 5:00-10:00PM. Doors are locked at 10:00PM. Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following Best in Show judging Sunday, March 11, Doors in the grooming and crating area will be available 6:00AM Saturday and Sunday. Entrance available on the South side on Royal Brougham Way. Each exhibitor will receive an acknowledgement of entry with identification stickers. A Sticker must be worn for admittance. Two Stickers are provided for each day that dog is entered (maximum 6 dogs per day). To gain admittance for each day into the show building, each person MUST wear their Sticker or pay admission. Absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS. No exercise pens will be permitted after each day except in reserved grooming area. All dogs shall be kept on leash except when in the obedience or agility ring. There shall be no drilling nor intensive or corrective training of dogs on the grounds or premises. STOOP TO SCOOP. Remember the Seattle City Poop Scoop Law $500 FINE for anyone seen leaving their dog s excrement on city property. Designated exercise areas will be clearly marked. Dog strollers may be used ONLY in grooming area and to and from rings during exhibition. Dog strollers are NOT PERMITTED in any other areas. No dogs that are disqualified for aggression will be allowed to enter these shows, nor be allowed to be on the grounds. In addition, no aggression reinstatement procedures will be performed at these shows. 3 SEATTLE KENNEL CLUB 2018

4 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS ALL EVENTS Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline Please note: Any hotel or motel listed in the premium list is subject to Event Committee Rules. We expect our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at this show has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. Clubs reserve the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. DOOR 6 DOOR 5 Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. DOOR 7 LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but Baths will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or Baths misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be Baths the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will Baths exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should LOADING follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs DOCK are free of internal and external parasites, any 37 42communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the 4Show 7 Grounds at 27 any 34time 45 while the 70show 81 is 88 in 99 progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without 2 9 further release or 32 consent The Club is not responsible for the actions or products 1 10 of 11 the 20 commercial vendors at this show DOOR 8 DOOR 9 DOOR RV USE OF RAMPS ALL BREEDS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotto Romagnolo, American Water Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirneco dell Etnas, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Keeshonden, Finnish Lapphunds, Norwegian Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, and Norrbottenspets (Misc.). At the discretion TRAILER of the judge through all levels of competition including Group SEC and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets. EAST The following breeds must be judged HALL on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels, Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4 6 Month Beginner 137 Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situation to judge any breed. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a DOOR 4 refund For 152the 163 judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds.
