Classification - Conformation Regular Classes Puppy Dog Puppy Bitch 6 months & Under 9 months 6 months & Under 9 months 9 months & Under 12 months 9 months & Under 12 months Twelve to Eighteen months, Dog Twelve to Eighteen months, Bitch Amateur-Owner-Handler, Dog Amateur-Owner-Handler, Bitch Bred-By-Exhibitor, Dog Bred-By-Exhibitor, Bitch American-bred, Dog American-bred, Bitch Open, Dog Open, Bitch WINNERS, DOG WINNERS, BITCH Non-Regular Classes - single dog entries (Saturday) Herding Titled Class - For Dogs or Bitches that have earned an AKC herding title of Started or above on any course or livestock. The following titles do not apply: Instinct Test certifi cate, Herding Test title, Pre-Trial Test title or any other non-akc title. Herding Titled Class, Dog Herding Titled Class, Bitch Veteran Class - For Dogs or Bitches, 7 years of age or older on the day of the show. Champions may compete, if they are within the age limits. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for entry in Veteran Classes at Independent Specialty Shows. Veteran, Dog Veteran, Bitch Any undefeated dogs that have competed at the show only in additional non-regular classes may compete for Best of Breed. AKC champions of record may be entered in these classes. Best of Breed Competition (Sunday) For dogs that are champions of record and dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of dogs whose championships are unconfi rmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owners records. Award of Merit (Thursday - 5; Sunday - 7) The judge may, at his or her discretion, recall into the ring those dogs and/or bitches from the total Best of Breed competition that the judge believes are worthy of fi nal consideration for Best of Breed and present Awards of Merit to recognize the qualities of those animals. Entry Fees & Policies Best Bred-By-Exhibitor Competition (Sunday) For winners of the Bred-By-Exhibitor Dog and Bitch classes. Best Veteran Competition (Sunday) For winners of the Veteran Dog and Bitch classes. Non-Regular Classes - multiple dog entries (Saturday) Stud Dog Class* - For Stud Dogs and at least two but no more than four of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The Stud Dog cannot be shown as the Get of another Stud Dog. Owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of Get. Get only to be judged based on merits of the Get. Each dog making up the Get must be individually entered in one of the Regular classes, Best of Breed Competition or a Non-Regular class (other than Stud Dog) at this show. Brood Bitch Class* - Same as Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. * Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed female may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.

3 Classification - Junior Showmanship Novice Class - For boys and girls at least 9 years and under 18 years of age on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) fi rst place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Class - For boys and girls at least 9 years and under 18 years of age on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice class. Master Class - For boys and girls at least 9 years and under 18 years of age on the day of the show, and who have won the ten fi rst place wins in an Open Class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. Junior, Intermediate and Senior Classes. Each of the regular classes may be divided by age into Junior, Intermediate and Senior Classes, provided the division is specifi ed in the premium list. A Junior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show. The Intermediate Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show. The Senior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. NOTE: Handlers must include their AKC Junior Handler Number on each entry. Performance requirements: A minimum of 2 AKC performance titles in at least 2 different venues (Obedience, Rally, Tracking, Herding, Agility). You must bring copies of the AKC performance title certifi cates to the show to verify eligibility for this competition. These must be AKC titles; herding instinct certifi cates, CGC and performance titles from other registries do not qualify. Classification for Working Dog Sweepstakes Working Dog, 6 months & Under 18 months Working Bitch, 6 months & Under 18 month- Working Dog, 18 months & Older Working Bitch, 18 months & Older Veteran Sweepstakes Requirements for Veteran Sweepstakes Any purebred Border Collie at least seven (7) years of age on the day of the show is eligible for the Sweepstakes classes. Dogs entered in these classes may be neutered/spayed. Dogs entered in any Sweepstakes class need not be entered in a Regular conformation class. AKC Champions of Record may be entered in these classes. At the completion of the individual class judging, each of the class winners shall be brought back to the ring for awarding of Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes. 4 Futurity Requirements for BCSA Futurity Any purebred Border Collie at least six (6) months of age on the day of the show and meeting the requirements is eligible for the Futurity Classes. Dogs entered in any Futurity classes need not be entered in any other class. AKC Champions of Record may be entered in these classes. A winner will be chosen in each Futurity class. At the completion of the individual class judging, each class winners shall be brought back to the ring for awarding of Best in Futurity and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Futurity. Only dogs which come from a litter nominated for the Futurity and have been individually nominated for the Futurity are eligible. Classification for Futurity Puppy Dog, 6 months & Under 12 months Puppy Bitch, 6 months & Under 12 months Puppy Dog, 12 months & Over Puppy Bitch, 12 months & Over Dogs Eligible to Enter These events are open to Border Collies which have been registered with the American Kennel Club and are six (6) months of age or older or have an acceptable foreign registration number (subject to restrictions in Chapter 11, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows). Obedience and Rally classes are also open to Border Collies which have been granted a PAL/ILP number and are six (6) months of age or older. Bitches in season may not compete in Obedience or Rally classes. Move-up Information Dogs shall be moved up to a higher Obedience or Rally class at the request of the owner, as a result of qualifying for an Obedience or Rally title, provided that the request is made to the Event Secretary no later than one-half hour before the start of the trial. notice is acceptable. Health Certificate Required Exhibitors from outside Wisconsin must comply with the following regulations: Wisconsin Dept. of Agriculture Rule Enacted in No person shall import a dog over six months of age into this state unless it is accompanied by an interstate health certifi cate including thereon a vaccination for rabies, etc. Such vaccination shall be conducted not more than 12 months prior to entry. Provided that when chick embryo vaccination is used, such vaccination shall be conducted not more than 36 months prior to entry. An interstate health certifi cate shall be executed by a veterinarian of the state of origin showing animals identifi ed thereon have been inspected and no infectious diseases disclosed and to include a rabies report. Participant Emergency Preparedness When traveling with your dog (s), it is important to have a plan in place should an emergency or disaster requiring evacuation occur. The following are some suggested components of your plan: 1. Have a recent photo and description of your dog prepared a head of time. 2. Bring a copy of each dog s medical information, to include immunizations, special health / medication needs, microchip or tattoo information and your veterinarian s phone number. 3. Have names, phone numbers and directions to area motels that allow pets. 4. Have a carrier and leash for each dog. 5. Carry bottled water in your vehicle in case of power failure or concerns regarding contaminated water. Notice to Exhibitors The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering this event, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualifi ed, excused, or barred from competition by action of the Event Committee. The Border Collie Society of America may cancel this event in extreme weather conditions. Entry fees will not be refunded if the event cannot be opened or completed by reason of riots, civil disturbance, fi re, an act of God, public emergency, an act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. Since bitches in season are not allowed to compete in AKC Obedience or Rally Trials, the club will refund all but $5.00 of the entry fee per day for bitches unable to compete for that reason. The Event Secretary must receive written notifi cation by letter hand-delivered, ed, or postmarked at least 30 minutes before the trial commences. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. There is a $20 returned check fee. No refunds will be issued for overpayment of less than $10. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Event Committee, be asked to leave the event site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. All dogs must be on leash or crated at all times except when in the ring. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Event Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors of their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Entries must be made on Offi cial AKC entry forms or copies and must include the signed Agreement and Rules. Junior Handlers must enter their JH# and complete back of form. Include only AKC titles on entries. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may have made such errors. No entry will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. Errors in entries made by the exhibitor cannot be corrected after the closing date. No refunds for duplicate entries. No dogs wrongly entered in a class may be transferred to another class except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows: a correction may be made in the sex of a dog, or a dog may be transferred from one division of the Puppy Class to another or between the Puppy and Twelve to Eighteen Month Class at a show prior to judging, and except that dogs which according to their owners s records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for a show but whose championships are unconfi rmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed competition, provided this transfer is made by the Event Secretary at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. Dogs under 4 months of age are not permitted on the show grounds of AKC Licensed Events. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites and any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. The Border Collie Society of America does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Offi cial AKC entry form for this event. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). Crating space is available on a fi rst-come, fi rst-serve basis. Dogs may not be left at the Fairgrounds overnight. Crates may be left. Dogs may not be left in closed vehicles without proper ventilation. If dogs are found in distress, BCSA will take appropriate action.

5 Handbills, circulars or any other printed material may not be sold or distributed at these shows except for BCSA printed materials. No Flexi-leads will be allowed in the building or ring area. No strollers or playpens will be allowed in the building. No professional photography or videotaping is permitted without permission. No gasoline or diesel generators are permitted inside any building or within 100 feet of any tent in which this dog show is conducted. The Event Committee reserves the right to remove any roped-off areas and allocate crate and grooming space, if necessary. Grooming space MUST be reserved. See form below or the BSCA website. No one is permitted anywhere that is marked Employees Only and/or No Admittance. Videotaping All rights to TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Border Collie Society of America (BCSA) or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the BCSA. All persons and animals on the Showgrounds and anytime while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant the BCSA the right to photograph, televise, videotape, or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfi rmed. The showing of unconfi rmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classifi cation in this premium list. If the dog show class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certifi cate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. Plastic sheeting MUST be placed under each crate in the guest room area. 5. Housekeeping must be allowed to clean a guest room (with dogs) at least every two days.
