My husband and I have been active in field work, obedience and agility trialing with our dogs. I have made visits to the breed ring to earn a conformation title occasionally. However, agility has taken most of my interest for the past twelve years. I enjoy the opportunity to see the skill and teamwork develop as I work with my dogs. Currently, I am running my dog, Goldencol s Time Flies (Quick), at the Intermediate JWW and Excellent A Level. Many of the Goldens that we have bred have also been performing well in agility, field and obedience. This gives me a feeling of pride and satisfaction, too. I have been instrumental in the development and promotion of the CKC agility program and I am a member of CKC Agility Team Canada Management group which supports sending our CKC dogs to the FCI world agility competition..i started judging agility in 2002 and I have judged both CKC trials and I have judged both CKC trials and AAC trials across Canada. I enjoy the challenge of judging, but enjoy running and training my own dogs even more. Enjoy your runs with your dog and always remember to keep the trial fun for your dog. ARLENE LEHMANN After completing a degree in Radio & Television Arts at Ryerson University, Arlene spent the next twenty years in the stimulating environment of television production and post production. Simultaneously she and her husband Eric also pursued a mutual equine passion, manifested in breeding Straight Egyptian Arabian horses. Cherry Hill Arabians was home to a herd of thirty horses and Eric and Arlene traveled to horse shows across North America, Europe and the Middle East, where twice they purchased horses to bring home to the breeding program. In the early eighties the first Giant Schnauzer came to reside at Cherry Hill. He was shown to his conformation championship by Arlene in three shows. The next Giant needed a job, so with her conformation and obedience titles, Biba obtained her ATCH in agility and an addiction was born. A Mini Schnauzer joined the family in 2000 and became an agility star with ATCh s and podium finishes. As much as Arlene enjoys training and competing with her beloved dogs, judging agility has also became a passion and has taken her across Canada, meeting lots of new friends along the way. Arlene would like to thank her mother and father, who she loves and misses, and who s no dog policy must have fanned the fire.

When a bitch comes into season after the entry has closed, a Veterinarian s certificate verifying the bitch was in season within the 10-day period preceding the trial must reach the secretary on or before the start of the trial. A full refund of entry fees and listing fees will be given. Equipment Familiarization will run before the Novice Class Jump heights in all classes in all trials will run from low to high. AGIILIITY FUN MATCH SATURDAY JJULY 2200t tthh,, Afftteerr tthee Trri iaal l GENERAL INFORMATION The Trial Secretary is in full charge of the Trials. No provision will be made for inclement weather. A limited area for indoor crating is available. There is no camping, water or hydro at this location. Food or toys are not permitted in the course area and handlers are not permitted to use whistles or other instruments or devices in the ring or within 10 feet of the course. There will be contact familiarization. A warm up area with one jump will be provided. Handlers in all classes will be able to walk the course, without their dog prior to the start of the class. It is the duty and obligation of the trial giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any participant at an event held under these rules, is not subject to indignities of any kind. The Agility Trial Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit, on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. MESSAGE FROM MCCANN'S RE: THE NEW TURF: WE ARE THRILLED TO HAVE INSTALLED THE HIGHEST QUALITY SPORTS FIELD FOR YOU AND YOUR DOG TO ENJOY WHILE COMPETING IN AGILITY. HOWEVER, CLEANING OR MAINTAINING OF THE ARTIFICIAL GRASS CAN BE A CHALLENGE. IT CAN NOT BE WASHED OR VACUUMED. ALL DEBRIS THAT FALLS INTO THE TURF MUST BE PAIN STAKINGLY REMOVED BY HAND. THEREFORE WE REQUEST THAT YOU PLACE EITHER A GRASS MAT OR TARP BENEATH YOUR CRATES, CHAIR AND ALL BELONGINGS. PLEASE ASSIST US BY CLEANING UP YOUR OWN AREA UPON DEPARTURE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LEAVING YOUR AREA AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE. WHEN LEAVING, PLEASE DO NOT SHAKE YOUR TARP INSIDE THE BUILDING. IF YOU SPILL SOMETHING OR IF YOUR DOG HAS AN ACCIDENT ON THE ARTIFICIAL GRASS, IT WILL NEED TO BE BLOTTED WITH PAPER TOWEL IMMEDIATELY, THEN DOUSED WITH WATER/VINEGAR SOLUTION. WITH YOUR ASSISTANCE WE ANTICIPATE ENJOYING THE NEW SPORTS FIELD FOR MANY YEARS TO COME. ALSO, A REMINDER, PLEASE DO NOT DUMP WATER BOWLS OUT THE FRONT DOOR FOR SOMEONE TO SLIP ON, BESIDE THE BUILDING OR OVER THE FENCE WOULD BE SAFEST. THANKS MARTI MCCANN. EVENT INFORMATION Handlers must be ready at the start line when called or risk forfeiting their run. OBSTACLES Obstacles shall meet the specifications in the CKC Agility Rules and Regulations effective January 1, The dog-walk is full size and 24 weave poles will be used. ELIGIBILITY To be eligible to compete in these trials, a dog must be 18 mos. of age and registered or be eligible for registration with the CKC, have an ERN or CKC Miscellaneous Certificate. 4 CKC NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE: 1) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee 2) In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. 3) These fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by non-ckc members and are not applicable to CKC members or American exhibitors. EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN) To obtain an ERN simply do the following: Send a photocopy of the dog s registration certificate reflecting current ownership with a written request for an ERN. Accounts may be paid with personal or business cheque, money order, Visa or MasterCard. For non-members of the CKC please note that if paying by cheque, the cheque must be certified. Non-residents of Canada please note that discounted cheques or money orders will not be accepted due to fluctuating currency rates. Provide a full return address. Faxed request will be accepted. Please ensure that your Visa or MasterCard number is legible and that you have included the expiry date and signature. An ERN must be obtained within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. If factors beyond your control prohibit this or present a problem, please send a written request for a 30-day extension. New Title rosettes will be available. SELECTED CLASS Section 8.4 CKC Jan 1/2010 rule book. The Selected Classes follow the Agility Trials Rules & Regulations. The Courses will be the same as in the regular classes but will have adjusted height & course times (see Section ) ENTRY INFORMATION: The owner or handler of the dog must sign the Liability Agreement on the back of the entry form. Incomplete entries will be returned. Entries will only be accepted if accompanied by the correct fees. Courier entries will be accepted if no signatures are required. Move-ups will be allowed after the closing date, up to 48 hrs prior to the scheduled start of Trial #31. Move-ups for trials 32, 33 and 34 will be accepted prior to the start of the indicated trial. Alterations, substitutions or cancellations of any entry after the closing date is prohibited, except Move Ups. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the entries were made. Judging schedules will be mailed or ed as soon as possible after the closing date. Tendering a NSF cheque is considered non-payment of fees and is punishable by disciplinary action. Any NSF cheque will be subject to a $20.00 service charge. Late Entries will be accepted up to one hour prior to the start of the trial by the trial secretary only if there is room in that trial/class.
