6 Comments: Well after weeks of training in some challenging conditions it was a pleasant change to have clear sky's and warm conditions for race 9 in the Dave Parry winter series , the Gisborough Moors race now in its 41st year. 210 runners took to the start line at Guisborough Rugby club and Nick Swinburn from Morpeth Harriers and Jayson Cavill York Knavesmire taking an early lead in the mens race with Emma Holt Morpeth Harriers leading the way from Rhona Marshall Scarborough AC and Lisa Bennett New Marske Harriers in third in the female race. By the time Roseberry Topping was scaled by Nick Swinburn he held a heathy lead which he maintained to the finish some 7 minutes clear of second, with Emma Holt holding onto her lead to claim a six minute victory and double win for Morpeth Harriers.. The men's team prize was won by York Knavesmire with excellent grouping and Scarborough AC taking the female teams race. It was Simon Greenwell taking time out from triatlon training who led home for promoting club Esk Valley. The next race and last in the Winter Series is the rearranged Blakey Blitz on Sunday the 29th April starting at 10:30 am, registration from 9.15am at the Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge.
