Fees are to be collected by the show giving club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, fees are to be collected on the first entry only. AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 2 Foreign Exhibitors must submit entries with International Money Orders guaranteed in U.S. Funds. 3 ENTRY FEE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED: In the event of errors made on Entry Forms. Owners are responsible for any and all errors on Entry Forms, whoever may have made such errors In the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by veterinarian or judge or barred from competition by action of the show committee For duplicate entries or for entries in classes for which the dog is ineligible If the show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the club or show secretary No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees or signatures. Entries not on OFFICIAL AKC ENTRY FORMS (or photocopies of same which do not include the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side) are not acceptable. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing, by fax, telegram or JDC_ShowSecretary@msn.com prior to close of entries. Those received verbally by telephone are not acceptable. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The returned check, plus collection fees, must be made good by cash or money order before the dog will be allowed in the ring. The club may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or any other cause, and no person shall have any claim or recourse against the club or any official thereof. There will be no drilling or intensive or corrective training of dogs on the show grounds or premises. NO DOUBLE HANDLING will be permitted at this show. Individuals who attempt to double handle from outside the ring will be subject to action by the Show Committee. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. There is no provision for unentered dogs at this show. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of breed or class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. The club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All trophies must be picked up at the show, none will be mailed. All awards will be made in the judging ring before the completion of judging, to the person exhibiting the dog and that person shall be considered the rightful winner of the award. The Show Secretary should be advised of any award discrepancies. EXHIBITORS SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR VETERINARIAN S RECOMMENDATIONS TO ASSURE THEIR DOGS ARE FREE OF INTERNAL & EXTERNAL PARASITES, ANY COMMUNICABLE DISEASES, AND HAVE APPROPRIATE VACCINATIONS. THE SHOW GIVING CLUB, THE SHOW SECRETARY, THEIR AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, ETC. ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, OR INJURY SUSTAINED BY EXHIBITORS, HANDLERS, THE GENERAL PUBLIC OR TO ANY OF THEIR DOGS OR PROPERTY AND FURTHER ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR INJURY TO CHILDREN WHILE AT OR ON THE SHOW GROUNDS, OR IN TRANSIT TO OR FROM THE SHOWS. IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS WILL EXERCISE CONTROL AND RESTRAINT OVER THEIR CHILDREN AT THIS SHOW. VETERAN BITCHES The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches Veterans, 8 years & under 11 years Veterans, 11 years & over NOTE: 1 ST PLACE ONLY will be awarded in Veteran Dog & Veteran Bitch Classes NOTE: Chapter 11, Section 8, AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that castrated males may be entered in the Veteran Dog Class(s) and spayed females may be entered in the Veteran Bitch Class(s) at independent specialties only. SLED DOGS & SLED BITCHES. RULES: 1. Entry must be an AKC or CKC Registered Siberian Husky (eligible under Chapter 15, Section 1, AKC Rules Applying to Registration & Dog Shows). 2. There will be a class for dogs and a class for bitches. At the direction of the Show Chair additional classes may be offered based on the requirements of the Sled Dog Degree Program. 3. If entered in a class for which a full entry fee was paid, no additional fee will be required. If not, the entry fee for a regular class ($22.00) will be required. 4. To qualify for entry in the Sled Dog / Bitch Classes the dog must have completed one of the following three requirements: a. During the previous racing season, each entry must complete ten (10) heats with a minimum of four (4) miles per heat, or seventy miles of competition. All races must be on snow with sleds and under the direction of a Recognized Race Giving Organization with rules and recorded results. A Race Season is from April 1 to March 31. b. Entries who complete five (5) years in competition where the above rules are met shall be automatically qualified for the Sled Dog / Bitch Classes. A certificate of proof may be issued by the Chair of the Working Committee if the 5 years of proof of competition records are sent in. c. Entries who have been awarded an SHCA Sled Dog Certificate, either SD, SDX, or SDO, and are additionally eligible for entry in a conformation class at an AKC event, are eligible to compete in the Sled Dog / Bitch Classes. 5. Spayed bitches or neutered dogs are not exhibited in the Sled Dog / Bitch Classes as required by the American Kennel Club. A list of races in which the dog competed, or a copy of the five year certificate or a copy of the Sled Dog Degree must be sent to the Show Secretary when entry is made. 4 BEST OF BREED COMPETITION NOTE: Effective for all shows held on or after July 1, 1980, dogs which according to their owner s records have completed the requirements for a Championship after Closing of Entries for this show, but whose Championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the Regular Classes to the Best of Breed or Variety Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one-half hour prior to the start of judging at this show. (Chapter 11, Section 6, AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows) AWARDS OF MERIT In addition to selecting Best of Breed & Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, the judge will select Award of Merit winners. The number selected will be equal to ONE AWARD OF MERIT FOR EVERY 10 DOGS PRESENT IN THE BREED RING. There is no requirement for distribution of these awards between sexes and will be awarded in no particular order. BEST IN BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASSES BEST IN SLED CLASSES NON-REGULAR CLASSES.. Multiple Dog Entries NOTE: As the judges decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch and Brace Classes is based upon the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won in these classes. STUD DOG CLASS..... for stud dogs and two of their get Owner of the stud dog need not necessarily be the owner of the get. The stud dog may be entered separately in one of the Regular Classes, or if it is a Champion of Record, in the Best of Breed Competition. The stud dog shall be considered one entry and requires only one entry fee, this being the Regular Fee PLUS the Additional Class Fee, if the stud dog is entered in another class. The stud dog must be shown in the ring with their get. THE GET MUST BE ENTERED IN A REGULAR CLASS IN THIS SHOW. Judging to be on the merits of the get only. BROOD BITCH CLASS... same as for the stud dog except substitute brood bitch for stud dog and produce for get. NOTE: Chapter 11, Section 8, AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that castrated males may be entered as Stud Dog and spayed females may be entered as Brood Bitch. BRACE CLASS.. Fee is $18.00 as a unit Effective 1/1/05 Two dogs of the same recognized breed or variety that are similar in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs in the Brace must have at least one common owner. Dogs comprising a Brace must be named at the time of entry. Please add the name of the other dog in the Brace to your Entry Form. If a dog which is to be part of a Brace is NOT ENTERED in another class at this show, it must be entered for BRACE CLASS ONLY, with the appropriate individual Entry Fee of $ There is no additional fee for a dog entered in another class. In making entries for Brace Class Only, full particulars must be given on an Official AKC Entry Form. If the dog is entered in another class, Brace must be marked as an Additional Class. If more than one Brace is entered by an individual owner, please designate dogs comprising each Brace as Brace # 1, Brace # 2, etc. PARADE OF TITLEHOLDERS THIS IS A NON-COMPETITION CLASS FEE IS $10.00 All Siberian Husky Champions of Record, Obedience, Agility, Rally Titleholders of Record, Sled Dog Degree Holders of Record, Therapy Dogs & Working Pack Dogs are eligible for the Parade of Titleholders. Dogs need not be entered in any other class at this show. Each Parade entry will receive a PERSONALIZED PARADE ROSETTE IMPRINTED WITH THE DOG S NAME. Please print (or type) dog s name clearly on the Entry Form. Parade of Titleholders must be noted under Dog Show Class or under Additional Classes on the Official AKC Entry Form so that a Rosette may be prepared. SPECIALTY TROPHIES BEST OF BREED: The Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club, Inc. offers THE MR. & MRS. JOHN B. CLINE MEMORIAL TROPHY for Best of Breed at its Specialty Show. It must be won three times by the same owner for permanent possession, not necessarily with the same dog. This trophy will remain in the possession of The Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club until it is permanently awarded. The 24 Trophy is a Silver-Plated 11 Champagne Cup, mounted on a decorative Walnut Base. A Siltone Cup will be given to commemorate the award. Chapter 10, Section 2 For dogs that have not been certified by a judge to have received a third qualifying score toward a CDX title prior to the closing of entries. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. However, if a person has handled more than one dog in the first five exercises, that person must provide a handler for the additional dog in the same Long Down Group Exercise. If eligible as defined in the regulations, dogs entered in Graduate Novice MAY BE ENTERED in any other obedience classes. BRACE OBEDIENCE CLASS.. Chapter 10, Section 4 Entry Fee is $18.00 as a unit plus $22.00 for each dog NOT entered in another class For two dogs that are eligible under the Regulations and capable of performing the Novice exercises. Dogs need not be owned by the same person but will be handled by one handler. Dogs may be shown unattached or coupled (the coupling device will not be less than 6 inches in overall length). Whichever method is used will be continued throughout all exercises. A separate Official AKC Entry Form must be completed in full for each dog entered. Exercises, performances and judging will be as in the NOVICE CLASS. The brace should work in unison at all times. Either or both dogs in a brace MAY BE ENTERED in another class or classes. VETERANS OBEDIENCE CLASS... Chapter 10, Section 5 For dogs that HAVE AN OBEDIENCE TITLE and are AT LEAST SEVEN (7) YEARS OLD on the date of the trial. The exercises will be performed and judged as in the NOVICE CLASS. Dogs MAY BE ENTERED in another class or classes. At breed Specialty Trials, the minimum age requirements for the Veterans Class may be set by the breed Parent Club, in which case the age will be as stated above. PRE-NOVICE OBEDIENCE CLASS Chapter 10, Section 8 For dogs that HAVE NOT RECEIVED a third qualifying score in a Novice Class prior to the closing of entries.
