Any and all dogs that are 10 months or older, on the day of the trial or the Target Odor Test (TOT), are eligible to compete. Handlers may show up to TWO dogs in NOVICE and ONE dog in Advanced or Excellent. Handlers may enter one additional dog in Advanced or Excellent as FEO. (NO EXCELLENT LEVEL IS OFFERED AT THIS TRIAL) Do I Need to Register with PSD? Yes, there is a one time registration fee of $30 to register a dog. Register online. Dogs must pass a Target Odor Test (TOT) in order to compete in the Standard Division, however if you do not pass you are still allowed to enter the trial as FEO (For Exhibition Only) for the day. My dog has an Odor Test from a different organization; do I have to pass a TOT? If you already have passed an odor test in another scent work organization, you do not have to take the TOT. Simply send a copy of the other organizations test to PSD. What are Divisions? FEO for exhibition only. Metallics: if a dog already received their title, they can continue to compete in that level/class. Standard Division: Standards to accomplish a title you have not yet gotten. Can I watch other competitors? Yes, you can watch, either after you run or you can watch a different level compete. Can my friend videotape my searches? Yes! And you may post them anywhere you like. Collars Any collar is allowed on the grounds except electronic or scent spraying collars. Only a flat, or martingale collar or leashes attached to a dead ring or harness are permitted to be used during a search. No tags on collars while searching. All dogs must be leashed at all time, except during an offleash search. Crating no crating inside for this trial. Food: Snacks, drinks and food will be available for all workers and volunteers. $5 donation requested from non- workers. Volunteer sign up link will be on our confirmation and Facebook site. Accessibility: Saturday s Site is a vet clinic with NO BATHROOM. Sunday s site is a working Christmas tree farm with indoor toilets, water but no climate control (AC). While all search areas are a single floor height (no stairs). There are uneven spots and single step ups of 8 or more. All dogs must be on a short leash and under control while on trial grounds except while showing. Dogs in Need of Space BOTH sites have plenty of parking and places to walk dogs at a distance of 10 feet or more. Please notify us of need for space and we shall accommodate. A red bandana is suggested for reactive dogs, but give all dogs space. Try Before Your Buy! Enter the trial ONLINE without paying for dog registration.
