SECURITY UPDATE & DAMAGE AT THE POOL 08/10/2010 Early Fall Security Meeting Wednesday, September 15th 6:30pm at AUE Elementary Cafeteria The Neighborhood Watch Program and SAPD will be hosting another security meeting to address the most recent activities and security concerns. Everyone in Stage Run will receive a bluecolored paper reminder flyer at their front door about a week before the event. Please come out and join us to become more informed about how to keep your personal property safe from criminals. We will have refreshments and some snacks available at the meeting. A few of you may not be aware of some of the problems we have experienced at our community pool. The most recent criminal activities occurred on the morning of August 11th. The pictures say it all and why it s extremely important to know what your kids are up too and the friends they hang out with. We are asking all parents of teenagers (Middle School/High School) to please keep an eye on your kids and to respect the active SAPD curfew. As a reminder the nighttime curfew for kids 16 and younger is Sunday thru Thursday, 10:30 PM to 6:00 AM; Friday and Saturday, 12:00 midnight to 6:00 AM. Daylight curfew (on school days) is from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Remember at age 17, kids are criminally responsible!!! We appreciate any help you can provide to us on any criminal activity with our community pool and park areas. DAMAGE NOTE: Neighbors living by the pool awoke on Wednesday, August 11th to the site of all the pool chairs, some heavy pool area tables and all the garbage cans (and garbage) thrown into our pool. While pushing the table in, it damaged the stone work on the side of the pool. See pictures. (Continued on Page 3) Copyright 2010 Peel, Inc. Stage Run HOA Newsletter September

BARKING DOGS I m an animal lover. I ve lived in Stage Run for almost four years and have enjoyed our community. I currently have one dog and a cat. My current dog is an indoor dog, but likes to go outside and lay in the sun. Once in a while she will hear a neighbor out in the back yard and start to growl or bark. There is also a squirrel that will annoy her from the trees and she will bark at it. When/if I hear her barking, I will stick my head out the door to have her stop, or bring her in. I do this because I don t want my neighbors to be annoyed. This is especially true in the evenings when we let her out for the last time to do her duty between 10-11pm, because we know that people are retiring for the day and need to get some rest. For the last few weeks I ve been woken up around 1pm to a dog barking. Many of you may know that once you ve been woken up from a deep sleep, it s difficult to get back to sleep. It s made worse when the dog that woke you is still barking. It seems to only bark at night as I don t notice it barking during the day. With the houses built so close together, a dog barking at one end of the street will carry all the way down to the other end. So, if I can hear your dog barking, most likely everyone else in the area does too! Don t you hear it as well? I have no problem if your dog is an outdoor dog. My request however, is to either bring your dog in at night or when the dog barks, get up and quiet it. Please, from my neighbors and myself, quiet your dog. Anonymous Dog Loving Homeowner WHY IS THE CABANA CLOSED? The Board recently noticed a lot of mortar separation and cracks occurring at the pool s covered cabana structure. Initial inspection by a repair company stated that the structure s rock façade could fall at any time and requires repair. The Board is in communication with KB Home who built the structure only 5 years ago. In the meantime, the Board is getting a private structural engineer scheduled to come out and provide a report as to whether the damage is cosmetic or truly a structural, engineering flaw. In the meantime due to safety issues, the area has been taped off and closed till we can obtain the report and finalize the repairs. We do not have a timeline yet, but the Board wants to resolve and repair as soon as possible. Your patience during this time is appreciated. Forward any questions to: board@stagerun.org Stage Run HOA Newsletter September 2010 Copyright Peel, Inc.
