Ma rshall 329 Newtown Road Wyckoff, New Jersey It was a big month for shows but almost all the news is second hand and incomplete. Helen Gaither's Ch. Gaidoune Grin and Bear It followed his Specialty win with a BOB a t Rock Creek K. C. on Sunday. the 17th. BOB at Catonsville K. C. on the 16th was the Stalters' Ch. Barberry Knowe Blizzard, who a lso scored a t 21

10 the Gloucester County and South Jersey K. C. shows, on the 23rd and 24th. From the far North comes news that Bill & Elizabeth Robert's Ch. Raab Hill Naughty Merry-Etta was BOB at both the Vacationland and Lewiston-Auburn K. C. shows, the 9th and 10th, going on to Group Third at the latter. The David Eadies are proud to have finished the Canadian title on their homebred, Am. Ch. Bonnie McLaurie Anstamm. She finished Oct. 17th in Toronto by scoring BOB over Specials under judge, Mr. John Devlin. Both titles were completed in less than a month's 1 time.., Except for the Specialty shows, entries have been fairly light and not too many youngsters are coming out. Could be that everyone is saving u p for the February Specialty and the "Garden". The STCA dinner the night before the Montgomery County show was well attended and the program committee deserves an "A" for effort on their attempt~ to cover a complex and difficult subject in a short time. Grooming was the topic and opinions and demonstrations both were rather inconclusive. Tom Kirk and Nancy Lenfestey made a valiant effort to demonstrate the proper techniques of putting a Scottie down for the show ring, but neither the time allotted nor the setting permitted more than a cursory "once over lightly" treatment of the subject. Several prominent judges voiced their opinions on the importance of grooming and adequately illustrated the subjective nature of the question. Dick Weaver had the new 1965 STCA Year Book ready as promised and it is a beautifully done job. Dick deserves a well earned bouquet for his efforts. Copies may be obtained from Dr. T. Allen Kirk, Medical Arts Building, Roanoke, Virginia, for $2.25 each. It is a fitting addition to the future history of the breed. CH. GAIDOUNE GRIN AND BEAR IT TOP WINNING SCOTTISH TERRIER OF BESTS IN SHOW, 27 GROUP FIRSTS, 2 SPECIALTY BESTS THROUGH OCTOBER 31, 1965 CH.
