5 About The Author. My Beautiful Best Friends Jake & Annie! Hi, my name is Nikki Brown and I am The UK s Leading Natural Dog Whisperer. I was born in November Back in August 2008, I was made redundant from my full time National Account Managers position, so I took this wonderful opportunity to finally fulfil a life-long dream of mine, and set up my own full time Natural Dog Whispering & Animal Healing business, which I proudly named Canine Angel. I operate my business from my home in the stunning Shropshire countryside and have been practising Natural Dog Whispering & Animal Healing for over 15 years. Through my personal training programs, manuals, videos and courses, I have helped countless pet owners all over the globe to find real trustworthy natural solutions to their animal s health and behavioural problems. I help by advising and training my clients on how to CURE these problems for good, but more importantly my education teaches them how to PREVENT these problems from ever returning or occurring in the future, which can literally save them hundreds if not thousands of pounds in pet care bills throughout the life of their animal companions. And it is not just the money I hope to help people to save but more importantly saving them all that heartache & worry that they feel when they see their beloved pet suffering in some way and feel helpless to know what to do about it. I also teach & train Canine Angel students from all over the UK who want to learn Natural Dog Whispering as a trade, so they too can begin their own part time or full time business helping others to make a bigger difference in both their own and their animals lives. 6 My journey into this fascinating line of work started back in the summer of 1998, when I began to study both dog and human psychology to gain a better understanding about the relationships we have with our pets and how we could look at improving the lives we lead with our animals. Back then, I wanted to learn purely for my own gratification as I always had a passion for dogs and had owned my first dog when I was a teenager. He was a Jack Russell Terrier, who I named Jake. He was my soul mate and probably the best dog I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was destined to come into my life and he taught me many valuable lessons about myself and about the world of dogs. If it was not for the tragic death he suffered, I would not be here sharing with you today, so we have him to thank for everything. It was his tragic death of being hit by a car that drove me towards wanting to learn more about the canine species and led me into studying Dog Psychology. It was during my 7 year study period that I had a revelation, one that completely opened my mind and set me on a path that has become my passion, my life s work and my mission. It was one of those light bulb moments where I suddenly realised and was awoken to my gifts and talents in animal communication and healing. The pet industry is a minefield of information and many pet owners don t really know what to believe or who to trust anymore. More and more pet owners are looking for answers to their pet s problems but don t know where to start, as they don t really understand where these problems stem from or what causes them. Over the years I have heard and seen these problems being misdiagnosed, which in turn leads to the wrong treatment being offered and the problem never really getting solved. Our pets are left suffering in some way, or discarded or re-homed or even worse - destroyed. What so many pet owners are not aware of is how the pet foods they are currently feeding their best friends can actually be the cause of many of their health and behavioural problems. Many of them have no idea what is even in their pet s foods, yet they continue to trust that the pet food manufactures are the experts in pet nutrition, and happily add dry or wet pet food to their pet s bowl on a daily basis whilst never giving it a second thought! My Own Personal Journey Into Health & Nutrition. I had learnt early on in life how diet and nutrition can help to heal disease within the body through my own personal experience, when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the young age of 23-years old. The news at the time hit me like a brick in the face and I went into shock and panic at first as you would expect it to, but this harsh lesson actually became one of my biggest blessings in life. It completely opened up my eyes to what the food and drug industry was doing to contribute to our own poor health and it inspired me to research into how food and nutrition is playing a major part in the diseases we face in our society today. 7 I was determined to learn as much as I could about how to find a way to heal my body and save my life. It was the start of a very profound change in my lifestyle, focusing me to get well again and sparking the urge for me to live my life. I found out that not only was the food that I was eating damaging my immune system and health, it also affected my moods and behaviour. In turn this affected my relationships, my work and my enjoyment of this very precious life - that we only get one chance at. I took up nutritional study courses and read many books on the subject. I was learning that the toxic fuelled, processed and microwave foods I was consuming every day, were in fact contributing to my poor health and life threatening disease. I learnt all about how raw food can help fight cancer and return the body back to full health. So I threw away my microwave and started to eliminate processed foods, sugars, fats and artificial sweeteners from my diet. I replaced them with more raw and live foods such as raw vegetables and fruits. I had learnt that raw broccoli was anti-carcinogenic, so I introduced this into my daily diet throughout my cancer healing process. In fact, I ate so much raw broccoli, I actually thought I would turn into one, but I have this firmly set in my mind that making that small addition to my diet probably saved my life! I had a small operation to remove the cancerous cells from my cervix but my gynaecologist was very concerned about the speed at which my cancerous cells were forming so he called me back for further investigation. His concerns were that he may not have completely removed all the cells and because they were forming at a very fast rate, he felt I may need more treatment! This news upset and worried me a great deal, as I had been eating healthy, resting, exercising and using positive visualisation techniques to heal my body and I began to doubt this had worked. On my next visit to my gynaecologist, he checked me over and gave me the incredible news that ALL of the cancerous cells had disappeared and my cervix was completely healed and there were NO traces of cancer or scarring when the cells had been removed. He actually commented on the amazing healing I had performed as he had never seen anything like it in the 28 years he had been doing his job! He asked me what my secret was and I laughed and said Raw Broccoli!!! I was on a total high that day as I walked out of the hospital and vowed to spread the news as far and as wide as I could! I wanted to help others to solve their health and behavioural problems - just as I had solved mine. I was not just a cancer survivor - I had found the secret to healing the body with good nutrition and positive thinking! It was when I began practising as a Dog Psychologist back in 2001 that I started to notice a pattern and the links between the types and brands of foods these dogs were being fed, and the mental, nervous and physical traumas they were suffering. This led me to my journey of studying pet diet and nutrition, and as I began to delve deeper into the research that had already been conducted in this area, I became quite horrified at what I found out. 8 It was becoming clear to me that the pet food manufacturers were caring more about their profits than they were about their customers or their pet animals! I found out that they were contributing to so many of the problems I was being asked to solve. It made me think back to my very first dog Jake and the utterly rubbish food I was feeding him back then. I would buy him tins of Chappie and unquestionably trust this was good food for him! Chappie is totally disgusting stuff, which I can now see why and how it contributed hugely to my dogs aggression and health problems back then. Like most pet owners are today, I was completely unaware of what was in these foods and just trusted the pet food manufactures were looking out for my dog s best interest! As I begun suggesting to my clients to change their dog s diet, we soon started to see some magic taking place in the remarkable changes to their pet s health and a decrease in their behavioural problems. My New Best Friend Arrives! Jake My Little Rascal! It was back in 2009, when my new best friend Annie arrived into my life that I really got to put everything I had learnt up to this point into practise. She came to me at 4 years old as a retired racing greyhound and she had some serious commercial pet food damage to heal. Annie was suffering with the worst case of mouth rot I had ever seen along with dehydration, organ failure and pancreatitis. She was severely unwell and had become very nervous & fearful and showed aggression towards anyone entering her kennel. The only thing she knew how to do was to bear her rotten teeth, snarl and bite anyone who tried to come near her. The poor thing was utterly frightened and constantly suffering in pain. Annie Is My Greatest Teacher of All! 5 years on and she is back to full gleaming health and thriving with life and is so happy. I aided Annie with her full healing by switching her from the disgusting processed diet she was on to her species appropriate diet of Raw Meaty Bones, and used Bio Resonance Natural Treatments & Remedies.
