2 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. The AKC will collect a $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee on each entry of a dog, and 50 cent Recording Fee for the first entry of a dog in all AKC licensed and member dog shows, obedience trials, and tracking tests. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Recording Fee to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rule. Ch.11, Sec. 2). In accordance with AKC Rally regulations, the AKC will collect a $3.00 per entry of dog Rally Event Service Fee. A show-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Recording Fees and Event Service Fees for AKC. CANADIAN CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS MUST BE DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS, AND/OR MADE PAYABLE IN U.S. FUNDS No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or its Superintendent assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COMPLETENESS OF ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH THE ENTRANT. RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. The Superintendent will add a $20.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor or agent may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. FAX ENTRIES Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Fee is $4.00 per dog per show. If the credit card charge is denied for any reason, an additional service charge of $20.00 will be added. FAX NUMBER: (360) This is for Fax Machine ONLY. Incomplete or illegible Fax entries are not acceptable as a valid entry in a show. Proof of transmission is not proof of receipt of a legible or complete transmission (under AKC Rule Ch. 11, Sec. 4). A Fax-Friendly entry blank PDF is available for download at Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. Should Exhibitor NOT receive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, PLEASE notify the Superintendent at (360) or dogshows@barayevents.com. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for bitches in season. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. The Superintendent will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. TROPHIES & PRIZES will be awarded in the ring to the person exhibiting the dog. No awards will be mailed. ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. The Club is not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors at this show. BEST OF BREED COMPETITION The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed (Variety) Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owner s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed Competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. NON-REGULAR CLASSES (Involving Multiple Dog Entries) STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud Dogs and two or more but not more than four of their get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. Get only to be judged, based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed competition, or some other non-regular class. Entry fee $29.00 (Stud Dog and two or more of its Get), if Stud Dog is not entered in one of the Regular Classes, Best of Breed Competition or some other Non-Regular Class. Entry fee $20.00 for Stud Dog Class as an additional class. BROOD BITCH CLASS: For Brood Bitches and two or more but not more than four of their Produce. Brood Bitches must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and must be shown in the ring with their Produce. The owner of the Brood Bitch need not necessarily be owner of the Produce. While the merits of the Brood Bitch are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Brood Bitch must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Produce must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed competition, or some other non-regular class. Entry fee $29.00 (Brood Bitch and two or more of its Produce), if Brood Bitch is not entered in one of the Regular Classes, Best of Breed Competition or some other Non-Regular Class. Entry fee $20.00 for Brood Bitch Class as an additional class. BRACE CLASS: Two dogs that are similar in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in brace competition must have at least one common owner. The dogs comprising a Brace MUST be named at the time of entry. If a dog, which is to be part of a Brace, is not entered in any of the Regular Classes or for Best of Breed Competition, it must be entered for Brace Class Only. An entry form for a dog entered in a Regular Class or for Best of Breed Competition and entered as part of a Brace MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes, Brace Class. If more than one Brace is entered by same owner, dogs comprising EACH BRACE must be so designated Brace No. 1, Brace No. 2, etc. NOTE: As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch or Brace Classes is based on the merits of more than one dog/bitch, no one of the dogs/bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. 7 BREED AWARDS The Dalmatian Club of America offers through the office of the Secretary, Mrs. Sharon Boyd, 2316 McCrary Road, Richmond, TX , the DCA Bronze Medallion for Best of Breed. CHALLENGE TROPHIES The following CHALLENGE TROPHIES are offered for permanent possession when won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog, nor at consecutive shows. All CHALLENGE TROPHIES to remain in the possession of the club until retired. These CHALLENGE TROPHIES are offered for shows on Aug. 21st and Aug. 22nd, Best of Breed - The TRAMAC/JWS/Spotlite CHALLENGE TROPHY: A Hand-Blown Glass Vase, offered by Meg Callea, Tramac Dalmatians, James W. Smith, JWS Dalmatians and Jennifer Meisch, Spotlite Dalmatians. The trophy will be retired after three wins by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog. There is commemorative purple glass keepsake donated by Tramac/JWS/Spotlite Dalmatians. Best of Breed - A Silver Wine Cooler in memory of Ethel Williamson. This trophy was retired in 1999 to Frances Remmele. It was donated back to the club in Best of Breed - The CADILLAC MEMORIAL TROPHY: A Goldtone Designer Classic Cup Perpetual Trophy in memory of Ch. Karastella Cadillac of MGR. This trophy was retired in 1999 to Frances Remmele. It was donated back to the club in Best of Winners - The HOO DOO DALS CHALLENGE TROPHY: A White and Blue Glass Bowl, offered by Terry & Karen Wissinger, Hoo Doo Dals. A commemorative Blue Plate will be given for each win. Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed - The PATZ & COBBS CHALLENGE TROPHY: A Crystal Lasered Dalmatian Head donated by Pat Zoscak, Patz Dalmatians, and Danny, Liz & Eric Cobb. 9 JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION EACH DAY NOVICE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who, at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For Boys and Girls who, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice & OPEN Class divided: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. Turn RIGHT onto the Lake Hills Connector (blue Bannerwood Ballfield Park sign). Stay in RIGHT lane and take FIRST RIGHT onto Richards Rd. (no street sign). Go 1/4 mile and turn at FIRST LEFT into park. (1.3 mi. from I-405) SATURDAY SHOW MARYMOOR PARK 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Pkwy. N.E. From Bannerwood Park, go NORTH on I-405. Take Hwy 520, EXIT 14, heading EAST. Take W. LAKE SAMMAMISH PKWY. exit. At end of exit, turn RIGHT. Go to first light and turn LEFT into Marymoor Park. Follow signs to show grounds and parking. The PUGET SOUND DALMATIAN CLUB reserves the right to remove any animal in distress from a parked vehicle or crate, and all persons attending these dog shows hereby waive any claim for damages against the club for such removal. PER AKC GUIDELINES, canopies are allowed but must be placed at least 10 feet from any ring. A clear walkway will be maintained around the rings. All dog-holding setups must be 20 feet from ringside. All canopies must be removed each day. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE: Animals left in vehicles will be monitored. If animals are in distress due to heat or any other circumstance, the vehicle will be forcibly entered, the animal recovered and the owner cited.
