3 HISTORY Wishbone volunteer Karen Donnelly, donates 16 hours/week helping cats/kittens. October 2008 Wishbone Pet rescue established in Saugatuck, MI Foster home based operation governed by volunteer Board of Directors February 2009 Federally recognized as a 501C3 Non-profit Operation focus changes from a local pet rescue to community based pet rescue that includes support for humans in our Allegan County community too. February Volunteer efforts begin at Allegan County Animal Shelter working with the Sheriff s Department. January 2011 Established Wishbone headquarters, adoption center for cats and Thrift Shop in Douglas, MI. March 2011 Wishbone contracted to manage Allegan County Animal Shelter

7 What has Wishbone brought to the Allegan County Animal Shelter Operations? - Staffing / 8 part time shelter workers: 1 animal caretaker per shift 7 days/week 1 dog behaviorist 3 days/week 1 Licensed Veterinary Technician 2 days/week 1 Contracted MI Licensed Veterinarian 1 day/week - Spay/Neuter equipment and services for animals adopted at the Allegan Animal Shelter / Required by Dept. of Agriculture - Trap Neuter Release (TNR) for homeless outside dwelling cats - Medical Program: Full vaccinations, parasite control, heartworm prevention, canine heartworm & FELV/FIV feline testing, micro-chip, and heartworm positive dogs treatment prior to adoption. Medical care for injured animals upon arrival. - Outside exercise pens for operations and public viewing of animals to adopt - New stainless steel knife kennels for safer dangerous dog handling - Technology improvements to include Online Shelter Animal Database - Weekly adoption events at big box pet food stores thru-out Allegan & Kent County - Improved public shelter image: Improved community support with over 20 volunteers per week dedicating over 400 volunteer hours per month Treated and adopted: Brandon, stray not reclaimed.
