4 PUPPY THURSDAY BREED GROUP BEST PUPPY IN SHOW Competition is offered for dogs & bitches entered and exhibited in the puppy classes to compete for Best of Breed Puppy through Best Puppy in Show. Puppies that win Best of Breed or Best of Winners in the regular conformation classes are automatically Best of Breed Puppy. BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR FRIDAY BREED GROUP BEST BRED BY EXHIBITOR IN SHOW Competition is offered for dogs & bitches entered and exhibited in the Bred-by-Exhibitor classes to compete for Best of Breed Bred-by-Exhibitor through Best Bred-by-Exhibitor in Show. A Dog or Bitch that wins Best of Breed or Best of Winners from the Bred-by-Exhibitor Class is automatically Best of Breed Bred by Exhibitor. VETERAN SPECIAL ATTRACTION SATURDAY NOTE: DOGS WINNING THE VETERANS CLASS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BEST OF BREED COMPETITION BY VIRTUE OF HAVING WON THIS CLASS. THIS IS A SPECIAL ATTRACTION CLASS ONLY. If you wish to be eligible for Best of Breed Competition, you must enter a regular class or Best of Breed Competition in addition to this Veterans Special Attraction Class. Competition is offered for dogs and bitches 7 years of age & older (divided by sex) from the Best of Breed Veteran through Best Veteran in Show. Neutered dogs & spayed bitches are eligible to compete. Veteran Best of Breed will be judged following the regular classes in each breed. Veteran Variety Groups will be held. Best Veteran in Show will be judged prior to Best in Show. TRANSFER OF ENTRIES NOTE: BECAUSE OF TRAVEL TIME TO THE SHOW SITE, TRANSFER OF ENTRIES AND REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS FOR PUBLISHED JUDGE CHANGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THE OFFICE AFTER 12:00 NOON ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17. AFTER THIS TIME, YOU MUST CONTACT THE SUPERINTENDENT ON SITE. CONFORMATION: Dogs may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is presented to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP: Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. Correction may be made from one age division to another. provided this transfer must be made to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship class at the show. OBEDIENCE OR RALLY: A dog who has earned a title after entries have closed may be moved to another class in a future trial, provided the transfer request is presented to the Superintendent in writing at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial. Move-ups may be approved provided the class and judge are available and the class has not reached its limit. USE OF RAMPS At the sole discretion of the judge, approved breeds may be examined on the ground or on a ramp: Boykin Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, *Basset Hounds, Whippets, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, *Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow Chows, Keeshonden, Norwegian Buhunds and Polish Lowland Sheepdogs.*By Board approved policy, Basset Hounds and Bulldogs are expected to be judged on the ramp during breed judging. For the judging of Juniors, the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp breeds. A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give reasonable notice to the Show Superintendent/ Show Secretary prior to the day of the show. AKC approval is not required. Ramps may be used in emergency situations to judge any breed. (In all but emergency situations, the exhibitor has no recourse. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund.) 4 FALL ROUNDUP CLUSTER SEPTEMBER 2013

OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice class. Novice AND OPEN ClassES divided: Junior 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. 6 GALLATIN DOG CLUB PRESENTS: EYE CLINIC Eye CERF exams will be available on the show site, in the main building from 8:30AM to 6:00PM on Saturday, September 21, 2013 & Sunday, September 22, 2013 (with time off for lunch), provided by: Dr. Steven Roberts, DVM, MS, DACVO, will be here from the Animal Eye Center in Loveland, Colorado, to perform Eye examinations during the show. In order to facilitate time-efficient exams by having the forms filled out in advance, please call his main office by September 11th if you intend to get an Eye exam. If it is more convenient, you may go to the website and fill out the individual form under the CERF tab; you may also fax or your dog s call name, registered name, registration number, microchip number/ tattoo, breed, color, sex and date of birth to his office. Please be sure to include your name, phone number and complete mailing address in your correspondence. Walk-ins are welcome but will be worked in around those who have made prior arrangements. We have made every effort to anticipate any problems, but we realize some bugs may surface, and ask that you report any problems. We ask for your patience & understanding & welcome constructive criticism or comments. We want this to be a wonderful experience for you and want you to come back! The Show Site will be available to exhibitors after 12:00PM on Wednesday, September 18, Dogs must be removed by one hour after Best in Show on Sunday. Any issues not covered here or in the AKC Rules & Regulations will be handled at the sole discretion of the Show Chair. For everyone s safety, no flexi-leads are allowed to be used in the parking areas or areas around the show & grooming buildings. Parking is a privilege extended by the Cluster and the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds. The clubs reserve the right to withdraw this privilege from any persons they feel cannot abide by the rules & regulations, or who resort to abusive language. All parking is at your own risk. The clubs, Show Superintendent & Fairgrounds assume no responsibility for fire, theft and/or damage to any vehicle or its cargo. Pursuant to our agreement with the Fairgrounds, there will be a charge for all overnight-reserved parking. Free day parking is available on a paved designated lot with no overnight setups allowed. No setups or dogs are allowed in the picnic shelters. X-pens are not allowed in any of the buildings, outside paved areas, or grass surrounding the Exhibition Building. If used, x-pens must be set up outside on either dirt or grass areas away from the Exhibition Building & area must be cleaned before leaving the grounds. X-pens with a secure, sturdy top will be allowed in grooming areas. Reserved overnight parking will be available after 12:00 noon on Monday, September 16, Handicap parking is available for legally-designated handicap vehicles only. Please clean up after your dogs on the show grounds & at your motel site. We want to retain these facilities for future events. Keeping your grooming area clean & picking up after your own dog is your responsibility. If your dog soils anywhere on the grounds, it is your responsibility to clean it up by signing the entry form for these events, you are agreeing that clean up is your responsibility. If you see an area that has not been cleaned up, please notify a club member immediately. 6 FALL ROUNDUP CLUSTER SEPTEMBER 2013

7 Ringside crating room is VERY limited please utilize this area as little as possible. Crates will not be allowed within 10 feet of rings & all crates, grooming tables & setups must be removed at the end of your breed judging. No crates are to be left overnight in the main hall of the Exhibition Building, except where specifically designated. Equipment left will be confiscated. Reserved grooming areas will be available after 4:00PM on Wednesday, September 18, Dogs are NOT to be left overnight in the grooming areas. Doors to indoor grooming areas will be locked PROMPTLY at 9:00PM & unlocked at 6:00AM Two bathing areas with two Booster tubs each are provided outside beginning at noon on Wednesday & ending at noon on Sunday (donations to pay for the tubs will be gratefully accepted). Off-site do-it-yourself dog bathing facilities in the area are very limited we know of one such facility off N Montana Ave across from Macy s. All complaints regarding conduct prejudicial to the sport will be dealt with in accordance with AKC Rules by the Event Committee. A limited number of folding chairs are provided for spectators around the rings. Please do not remove for personal use in other areas. Obedience & Rally transfers will be allowed at these trials per AKC regulations. RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. BaRay Events will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. We will not re-process checks. The exhibitor will be contacted & required to send a money order for the original amount PLUS the $25.00 NSF fee. Subsequent returned checks from same person may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed by the Club to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Refunds of entry less AKC fees will be allowed for bitches entered in Obedience or Rally that come into season after entries close with note from Veterinarian. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline Please note: Any hotel or motel listed in the premium list is subject to Event Committee Rules. We expect our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at this show has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. Clubs reserve the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Sec.15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent/Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All checks issued as prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Lost, Stolen and/or misplaced checks will not be replaced. Checks are valid for 90 days. The Superintendent is not able to cash checks. ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. 11 HELENA MONTANA KENNEL CLUB Presents the Fourth Annual PLAN OC OBEDIENCE MATCH OBEDIENCE RING RENTALS These will be held in the same two obedience rings as we are holding obedience competitions for all four days of the cluster. FRIDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 20, :00-8:00PM $5.00 for five minutes of individual ring time. Group stays (at no additional charge) after approximately every 10 dogs. We will have two obedience rings in use at the same time, each with a timer. Labor to set up the rings will have to come from the exhibitors themselves. You must provide your own judge if you want one. Sign-up sheets will not be available until Friday morning near the obedience & rally rings on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis. You can sign up that evening if there is time. WE QUIT AT 8:00PM. You pay no fee until you are ready to have the ring set up (jumps, no jumps, correct heights, etc.). Time starts when you & your dog walk into the ring. You will get five minutes to do any run-throughs, exercise or parts of exercises, play, train or stays that you wish to do. Any regular or non-regular classes can be run through. Verbal praise, corrections & gentle guiding are allowed (harsh corrections are not allowed). Food, toys & training aids are allowed, but you must pick up any food dropped on the mats. You can work with a helper. You cannot clump time together. If you want 15 minutes, for example, you must sign up in five-minute increments allowing someone else to have a turn before you go in again for your subsequent five-minute slots.
