He sold them to a butcher for $4450. The cost of the dinosaur skeleton was 2/3 the cost of the mammoth skeleton. How much did he sell the dinosaur skeleton for? Math Word Problem 2 Two huge monsters went on a rampage in New York. My granny came to the rescue by biting them to death with her vampire dentures. When the monsters finally collapsed, we measured their length. The purple monster was 3/4 the length of the green monster. If their total length was 3661 m, what was the length of the purple monster?
Math Word Problem 3 Astronaut Andy and Spaceman Sandy went on their first spaceship flight with Xantrak, their alien friend. However, they vomited disgusting green stuff onto Xantrak's shoes. Xantrak was delighted to get a free meal. He collected the puke into 2 buckets to make spicy broth. The red bucket contained 2/5 as much puke as the blue bucket. If the total amount of puke the ecstatic alien collected was 4221 l, how much puke did the red bucket contain? Math Word Problem 4 Professor Prazy created two harpies in his lab and set them free in Sentosa Island. The harpies snatched my Math teacher and English teacher with their long sticky tongues and swallowed them whole. By the time the police managed to shoot down the harpies, my poor teachers were digesting in the harpies' bellies. The total length of their tongues was 1548 cm. If the shorter tongue was 1/5 the length of the longer tongue, how long was the longer tongue?
Math Word Problem 5 Baker Billy opened a bakery in my town and soon became very famous because of his outrageous pies. His two most popular pies are the porcupine quill pie and the beetle dung pie. His porcupine quill pie costs $85 more than his beetle dung pie. If his beetle dung pie costs 3/8 of his porcupine quill pie, what is the cost of the beetle dung pie? Math Word Problem 6 Fairy Francis and Minotaur Marvin despised each other. They decided to settle their dispute through a wrestling match. When the referee weighed them, he found that the mass of the Minotaur was 280 kg more than the fairy. However, the devious fairy defeated the Minotaur by raking him with his poisoned fingernails. If the fairy's mass was 2/7 of the Minotaur, what was the mass of the Minotaur?
Math Word Problem 7 Andrew caught two vampires, a mother and a daughter, in a cemetery and chained them in his attic. He plays Monopoly with them on Sundays. The daughter is 5/8 the age of the mother. If the mother is 282 years older than the daughter, what is the total age of the two vampires? Math Word Problem 8 Brandon had two sisters whose heads were crawling with lice. The blonde sister had 126 more lice than the brunette. If the brunette had 7/9 the number of lice of the blonde, what was the total number of lice on their heads? Brandon got rid of the pesky lice for them by setting their hair on fire.
Math Word Problem 9 Shamu the shampoo thief had a terribly itchy head. He broke into a vet's clinic last month and stole 77 bottles of dog and cat shampoo. He shampooed his hair daily after that. In a month's time, he had used up 23 bottles of cat shampoo and 1/5 of the bottles of dog shampoo. Now he has an equal number of dog and cat shampoo bottles. How many bottles of cat shampoo did he steal? Math Word Problem 10 Florence wanted to form her own sensational animal orchestra. She bought 197 ducks and pigs from Farmer Fred and began training them to play musical instruments. After a week of intense training, she realized that 2/5 of the ducks and 53 pigs had no musical talent. She roasted those animals on Thanksgiving Day and ate them with her family members. There was an equal number of ducks and pigs after that. The remaining animals performed for the Queen of Gondwanaland on her birthday. How many ducks performed that day?
Math Word Problem 11 Carl Cat wanted to create a rodent circus. He caught 195 rats and mice two years ago. He taught the rats gymnastics. He trained the rats to become clowns. After 6 months of training, he realized that 75 rats and 1/3 of the mice had no talent at all. Being a kind cat, he gave away those rats and mice to his toothless friend, Bruno. He had an equal number of rats and mice after that. His circus became an international success a year later. How many more rats than mice did Carl catch in the beginning? Math Word Problem 12 A raccoon died in my backyard last week. When I peered at it with a magnifying glass yesterday, I found 700 maggots and earthworms jostling in the smelly body of the raccoon. When I sprayed the raccoon with bug spray, 4/5 of the maggots and 202 earthworms died. An equal number of maggots and earthworms were left in the body after that. How many more maggots than earthworms were nestled in the body of the raccoon in the beginning?
Math Word Problem 13 Sammy lived in a small village. A big bandit swaggered into the village last year and began to demand for goats and chickens from the poor villagers. Brave Sammy killed the bandit with his slingshot and became a local hero. He had some red, green and yellow pebbles left after that. 1/2 of his pebbles were red, 1/5 of his pebbles were yellow and 27 pebbles were green. How many pebbles did he have altogether? Math Word Problem 14 When I walked into my classroom yesterday, I was alarmed to see my math teacher calmly teaching some gorillas, chimps and gibbons fractions. 1/4 of the animals were chimps. 2/5 of the animals were gibbons. There were 42 gorillas. How many animals were studying math altogether?

There were 85 toucans. How many breakdancing birds did I see altogether? Math Word Problem 16 There was a chuckling competition at a pond near my house. The animal with the loudest chuckle would get to kiss Princess Glorat, an obese alligator. How many animals in total chuckled that day?
Math Word Problem 17 Percy Pirate, Brian Bandit and Captain Crook sailed their ship into a sea dragon's cave and killed the dragon in a fierce fight. They later gleefully collected all the gold coins that the sea dragon had hoarded in its cave. Percy Pirate took 1/7 of the coins. Brian Bandit grabbed 2/3 of the remaining coins. Captain Crook pocketed the rest. If Brian took 250 more coins than Crook, how many coins were there in total? Math Word Problem 18 I went scuba-diving in the Indian Ocean yesterday and spotted some sharks playing hide-andseek. I joined them. 2/9 of the sharks were tiger sharks. 3/7 of the remaining sharks were bull sharks. The rest were cookie cutter sharks. If there were 87 fewer bull sharks than cookie cutter sharks, how many tiger sharks did I play with?
Math Word Problem 19 There was a beauty contest in my town yesterday. 3/8 of the contestants were preening peacocks. 1/5 of the remaining contestants were pirouetting parrots. The rest were toucans. There were 378 more toucans than parrots. How many contestants were there altogether? Math Word Problem 20 Crazy Charles walked into a haunted house at midnight. When he opened the door to a bedroom, he screamed in horror. A terrifying monster was drinking the blood of a chicken. The monster had many glaring eyes in its stomach. 4/9 of the eyes were red. 3/5 of the remaining eyes were glowing. The rest were blind. The monster had 494 more red eyes than blind eyes. Charles made a mad dash for freedom when the eyes winked at him. How many hideous eyes did the monster have altogether?
