WCHS is proud to present the following candidates for consideration for election to the Board of Directors from We have two candidates seeking re-election, and one new applicant eager to contribute to the future of WCHS. Please note, voting is by exception a 2/3 NEGATIVE vote is required to deny a candidate, and only current WCHS members may vote. Votes need to be received by 7/31 please your votes to webmaster@whitmanpets.org Kelly Sebold (re-election) is a Pullman native and WSU graduate who works at Pullman Regional Hospital as a speech language pathologist. She enjoys giving back to the community and currently serves on the WCHS board as Secretary. In addition, Kelly has written and won several grants for the organization and currently leads the Fundraising and Communication Committee. Kelly is seeking re-election for another 3 year term. Dr. Leticia Fanucchi, DVM, PHD (re-election) is a veterinarian specializing in animal behavior. She also advises the Shelter Training Program and has actively worked with and trained WCHS dogs for the last 6 years. She trained in behavior at the ASPCA headquarters in New York and with a board certified veterinary behaviorist in Florida before coming to Pullman. Leticia has assisted over the years as a member of the board and also led the Parade of Pets during the annual Furball fundraisers. Leticia is seeking re-election for another 3 year term. Kylene Daschofsky will be starting the DVM program at WSU in the fall with a focus in shelter medicine. She has over six years of experience both working and volunteering for non-profit, no-kill animal shelters (WCHS included). Her roles within shelter operations have allowed her to work within every aspect of running a shelter and she will bring that insight into the board with innovative ideas to improve WCHS. Sheltering is her passion and she would love to show her commitment through serving as a board member for WCHS for her first 3 year term.

3 Page 3 CRUZIN FOR CRITTERS IV A poker run to benefit Whitman County Humane Society in Pullman, WA. All riders and groups are welcome. Join us on Sunday, July 16th Check in at 10am and kickstands up at 11am. $20/ rider, $15/ passenger + one item from the shelter wish list per bike. "Wish list" items can be dropped off early at Animal Haven (WCHS shelter) during normal business hours, or at Zeppoz on the day of the ride. Entry form, shelter wish list, and other details can be found online at Join us Wednesday July 5th to watch the Spokane Indians take on the Vancouver Canadians at Avista Stadium. Bring your canine companion for Bark in the Park! Come meet your new feline family member at WCHS in August. All adult cat adoptions will be $20 throughout the month!

4 Page 4 Meet the lovely Bosco! Meet classy Cassini! He's a large, declawed, sweet older gentleman. Originally he came to us as a stray. He loves having his head rubbed while sitting in your lap. You can often find Cassini lounging around in or on his cat castle. Cassini does not appear to get along well with other cats. However, with a slow introduction, he may learn to tolerate them Cassini has also been diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, which is currently being controlled with medication. Like many older cats, Cassini has also been diagnosed with kidney disease. He is currently on a special diet to help manage this. Staff would be happy to talk to you about what this means for you as a potential adopter. We would love to see Cassini spend his golden years resting in a nice warm home. Come in and meet Cassini today! Cassini is one of our Hope Fund cats ( to learn more) and has a higher adoption fee of $175. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, has been tested for FIV/FeLV and internal parasites, as well as had full blood work and urinalysis completed. Foster Homes Wanted! Bosco was WCHS alum that was returned due to not being the right fit with his adopter. Bosco is a sweet fellow that likes to try to sneak face kisses! Bosco loves long walks more than anything else in the world, and he adores playing fetch with his squeaky chicken. When you approach his kennel at WCHS he'll jump and bark like crazy trying to get your attention, but all he wants is for you to take him outside on a sniff n' run! Don't let his loud voice fool you, he LOVES to cuddle and snuggle with his human friends; he just gets over excited at the idea of meeting you. In a home environment, Bosco hardly barks at all! Bosco does need a lot of exercise to stay happy and healthy. He loves his outdoor playtime. While Bosco has done well with his leash walking training, if he sees a small dog, cat or small child on a walk he will get very excited, bark and pull on the leash. While he tries to look tough, this guy HATES rain and cold weather so would really love life as an indoor dog, where he'll get to go outside in a safely enclosed area or on a leash to get his runs and jumps in! If you think Bosco might be right for you, please don't hesitate to come meet him! Bosco's adoption fee is $130. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and tested for internal parasites. National Lentil Festival Beer Garden Volunteers Needed Friday 8/18! It's that time again - WCHS needs volunteers to help man the Lentil Festival Beer Garden near Reaney Park on Friday evening, August 18th. Help is needed with ticket sales, beer pouring, and wristbanding from 4:30pm - 8:00pm and 7:45pm - 11:30pm. WCHS hopes to raise $4,000 from this event so if you can help out, please webmaster@whitmanpets.org as soon as possible. Are you interested in fostering? WCHS is looking for foster families, primarily for the cats and kittens at the shelter. Please webmaster@whitmanpets.org for information! Thank you!

5 Page 5 WCHS would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Ron and Heather Morgan and all the participants of the Benefit Bowling Tournament for a successful fundraiser. We were able to raise nearly $5,500 for WCHS! Thank you to WSU Athletics Marketing, WSU Baseball, and the community for making this year s Dog Day at the Park a success! The WSU Cougars were victorious in a 6-5 win over Oregon. This year WCHS raised $405 for the SNAP program from the 81 dogs that were in attendance! - Thank you once again to Dissmore s and everyone in the community who donated during the latest supply drive - We filled up our van!
