1 OUR PROJECT AIMS Look at how animals live Think about language to make animals move Create sounds animals might make Write our own poems Perform our poems Work independently MISSION 1 Our first step is to do some research into TWO different animals. We need to find out the following and make notes in our books: What sort of animal it is - fish, bird, mammal, reptile, etc. What the animals look like colour, size, coats, ears, eyes, legs, etc. Where the animals live country (hot or cold), their homes (nests, burrows, in trees or under the ground), etc. How they raise their young what the babies are called, how they feed, how long they stay with their parents, etc. What they eat and how they get their food. What noises they make try to make sound words for these. MISSION 2 Create a mind map for your research on ONE of your animals. MISSION 3 Draw pictures of the following: Your two animals Their babies Their homes The food they eat Animal Magic

MISSION 6 Now produce a WORD-PROCESSED version of your poem for best. You may add a clipart picture if you like. MISSION 7 Now rehearse your poem aloud. You are going to perform it! Animal Magic
