1 Bobcat Unit Study Created by: Super Mommy To The Rescue
2 Terms of Use: This unit was inspired from my kids. We took a trip to the zoo yesterday. I wanted to create a unit on their three favorite animals. The reason my son liked the bobcat so much was because the bobcat was actually playing with the kids. They were racing each other along the fence. It was so cute. You may use and print this unit for your own personal use. If you would like to share this unit please direct people to and to the category Free Printables and have them download it from my site. Do not rip this apart or claim this as your own. Do not upload this on any file sharing site. All graphics were used in use of ClipArt.Com s terms of use. If you would like to learn more about Super Mommy To The Rescue please visit If you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to me at Stacie@supermommytotherescue.com 2012 Super Mommy to the Rescue All Rights Reserved
3 Bobcat Info Bobcats are mammals. They are nocturnal animals which mean they are awake at night. Humans don t see much of them because they are active at night. Bobcats are found throughout North America. You can find them in many different habitats such as forests, swamps, deserts, and even suburban areas. Did you know that bobcats are twice the size of a housecat? They have long legs, large paws, and tufted ears and are similar to their relative the Canadian Lynx. Most bobcats are brown or brownish red with a white underbelly and short, black tipped tail. Bobcats are fierce hunters and can kill prey that is bigger then them. They usually eat rabbits, birds, mice, squirrels and other smaller game. Bobcats hunt by stealth and deliver a final deathblow by pouncing. They can pounce up to 10 feet. Bobcats are solitary animals. The females choose a secluded den to raise their kittens. They can have from 1 to 6 kittens in a litter. The kittens normally stay with their mom for 9 to 12 months. While the kittens are with their mom they learn how to hunt before they set out on their own.
