Here, all the animals lived in peace and harmony. All of them enjoyed the great benefits of the woods. It was nice, happy and safe place. One day some wicked animals saw this beautiful forest. They were greedy and selfish. They said to each other, This is the best forest in the entire world. This has to be our new home. They decided to burn down a part of the forest so that all the animals would flee from the flames. They set the forest on fire. All the animals ran around trying to save themselves. Among the animals was a wise hummingbird. She called out to other birds. Take water from the lake in your beaks and put in on the fire, she said. The birds did as they were told. Other animals looked on in amazement. They said, Can we help too? We don t have beaks to carry water. The hummingbird said to the animals, Of course you can help! Blow as hard as you can and the flames will be extinguished. Find a branch and hit the flames as hard as you can and the flames will be gone. To the lions, the hummingbirds said, You are the strongest animals. Go and find our enemies who destroyed this beautiful forest. So, all the animals fought the fire and the lions caught the enemies. After the smoke was gone, all the animals got together to rebuild their homes. All of them had helped by doing the best they could. Answer the following questions from the passage: i.
