1 The York County Poultry Fanciers Association Welcome You to the 2018 Annual Spring Show Saturday, May 26 th 2018 Located at York County Fairgrounds, York, PA Judges: Michael Wasylkowski, Delaware and Keith Lutz, Pennsylvania The York Club invites you to join us to sell some birds, buy some birds, and show some birds all in the same weekend, not to mention catching up with other poultry enthusiasts like yourself. We would also like to take this opportunity to extend a THANK YOU to all members and friends of the club who have helped in any way possible to help make this show a success. Saturday, May 26th, 2018 Show Hall open 6:00am and all birds must be in cages and ready at 9am Food stand opening7:00am -? Judging starting-9:00am Ring Judging of Runners-10:00am (with brief history and understanding if anyone would like) Award Ceremony-immediately after all judging and paperwork is completed for awards!! Directions Address for the fairgrounds is 334 Carlisle Avenue, York, PA Off Route 30 and Route 74 PA Health Regulations The state of Pennsylvania requires that all poultry shown or for sale must be pullorum/typhoid free. In state exhibitors must be tested for AI within 30 days of the show date. Out of state exhibitors must be tested within 30days of the show date for AI. Exhibitors with flocks on US NPIP 90 day Avian Clean Flock are exempt from the 30 day requirement. Please have your paperwork with you. The show is open to all entries of standard and recognized non-standard varieties of Large Fowl, Bantams, and Waterfowl. 2.) Entries must be postmarked by May 12th, 2018 and accompanied by entry fees. Send check or money order made payable to: York County Poultry Fanciers Association with entry form to: Sue Reed- Taylor, 6880 Thompson Rd, Needmore, PA 17238, Phone # ) Entry fee must accompany entry form. 4.) Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. The show management reserves the right to refuse or reject any entry. 5.) Birds must be cooped in by 9:00am Saturday, May 26th, 2018, as judging will start at 9:00 am promptly. 6.) Birds showing signs of sickness, excessive stress or injury upon arrival or during the show will be removed from the show by show management or exhibitor. 7.) Judging will be done according to the A.P.A. and A.B.A. s Standard of Perfection. 8.) Exhibitors may not be permitted in aisle where the judging is being conducted. The Only persons to be in the aisle at the time of judging are the judge, the clerk and the show secretary!!!! 9.) No person except the exhibitor, the judge, and the Show Committee shall handle, feed, or water without expressed permission of the exhibitor. 10.) The York County Poultry Fanciers Association and Show Committee will use every precaution and guard against accident, mistake, loss, or damage, but will not be responsible should any occur. 11.) All specimens shall be the bonafide property of the exhibitor. 12.) Exhibitors making entries and failing to exhibit will automatically forfeit all fees paid for such entries, unless secretary is notified before closing date of entries. 13.) The Show Management urges that all birds be banded, although this is not required, and the band number written on the coop tag as the birds go into the coop. Do not write the exhibitors name on the card until judging completed. 14.) All protest must be made in writing to the Superintendent before the Judges leave the floor. A $25.00 deposit must accompany all protests. 15.) In all matters of dealing with the administration of the show, the decision of the Show Committee shall be final. 16.) No substitutions will be permitted once the coop tags are hung on the cages. 17.) Any exhibitor/spectator displaying inappropriate behavior will be escorted off the property immediately. 18.) Absolutely NO OUTSIDE SALES!!!!! per rules of the fairgrounds!! There will be inside spaces available for $20 each and sales $4.00 each. Sales cages will be on a first come first serve basis as we are limited on cages. You may purchase in advance or the day of the show. Please put tarps or paper down for sales spots to aid in clean up. Only birds from tested flocks may be sold on premises. Thank you for your understanding Junior Show Specifics All Junior show entries are subject to the same rules and regulations as the open show as well as the following guidelines.
3 1.) Please specify at the top of the entry form Junior entry; please indicate exhibitors age at the time of show. Otherwise birds will be entered in the open show and cannot be changed at the show! 2.) Eligibility to show as a Junior is limited to exhibitors between the ages of 5 and 18 years of age. 3.) All Junior Exhibitors must be present during the show, at coop-in and coop-out, and handle their own birds, or awards will be forfeited. 4.) Special Note: All Juniors are also competing in the open show as well and could possibly beat an adult in open 5.) We will be having Junior Showmanship at the show so study, study, study!!! Incubator Raffle/Cash Prize We are selling tickets for a NEW 1202E Sportsman or if you have enough incubators you may take the cash instead in the amount of $650. If you opt for the incubator it is an improved model of GQF s proven 1202 standard incubator. It has the same size and capacity as the electronic 1502 Sportsman but with less automation for reduced cost and will be shipped directly to your house at no additional expense. If the tickets are not all sold before the show date we are reserving the right to hold the raffle at the next spring show Thank you for your understanding. Food Stand We will have food prepared by Z & D Food Truck. As well as a table of homemade Baked goods for sale courtesy of club members and anyone else who would like to donate some homemade goods.
