Sunday, October 8, 9:00 pm SPECIAL RULES - READ CAREFULLY (These Rules also apply to Youth Division) IMPORTANT: Read carefully all GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS. ENTRIES 1. Entries will close early if capacity is reached. See General Rules Entry Requirements for additional explanation. Enter online or mail entries to Arizona State Fair, Pigeon Department, 1826 W. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ ENTRY FEE: $3.00 per bird entered is required and must accompany official entry form. Make checks payable to Arizona State Fair. 3. Entry must identify breed, variety, sex, age, and band number. Entry forms not properly filled out will be returned. 4. Entries improperly classified and identified will not be judged and entry fee will be forfeited. 5. The number of birds any exhibitor or his family member can enter is unlimited. 6. Pigeons shall be entered as singles. 7. SUBSTITUTIONS will only be permitted under the following conditions: breed, color/variety, age and sex of the bird substituted must be the same as the bird withdrawn. Changes involving different breed, color/variety, age or sex will NOT be permitted, NO EXCEPTIONS. Exhibitor s name and city will be listed on coop tags. ELIGIBILITY 8. Entries are open to the non-quarantined counties in Arizona. 9. Pigeons will be accepted on standard breeds ONLY. 10. Judges will eliminate from competition pigeons entered as a breed and variety not recognized as such. ARRIVAL 11. Check-in time will begin at 12 noon and all pigeons must be in place by 9:00 p.m. Exhibitors will bring their exhibits to the Agriculture Center building through the McDowell Gate (17 th Avenue and McDowell Rd). 12. Stock showing symptoms of disease upon arrival will be excluded from the exhibit. JUDGING 13. If Classes are small, colors may be combined to make competition. 14 Judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue the next day if necessary. CAGES 15. Plastic cable ties will be put on the cages after judging. RELEASE 16. No one will be allowed to remove any exhibit from the coop without the permission of the Coordinator or Assistants. 17. Checkout time will be according to schedule posted. All exhibits must be claimed between the posted hours. The Coordinator will not be responsible for any unclaimed exhibits after that time. All exhibits MUST be removed from the building by 9am, Monday, October Enter the Fairgrounds through the McDowell Gate to checkout their exhibits. Use receipt for entrance to pick up exhibits and obtain release slip from Coordinator for releasing of entries. PASSES, PERMITS AND VEHICLES 19. Any exhibitor paying entry fees of $30.00 (10 birds) or more will be entitled to five (5) single day passes ONLY. Any additional passes must be purchased at the gate. CLASSIFICATION

2 20. Birds will be classed by Breed, Variety/Color, Age and Sex as determined by the Pigeon Coordinator. 21. Birds with 2016 numbered seamless bands are classified as Young Cock or Young Hen. 22. Birds hatched prior to 2017 or without 2016 seamless bands are classified as Old Cock or Old Hen. 23. The most popular breeds are listed as Divisions. Please enter breeds that are not listed as Divisions as Division 400 (All Other Breeds) and list the name of the breed on the entry form. 24. 10 PREMIUMS Exhibitors may enter more than two birds in any one CLASS, space permitting, but will receive no more than two premium monies or ribbons per class. (i.e. 2 Homers, Blue Check Young Hens or 2 Homers, Blue Check Old Hens) Premiums are paid ONLY from the records of the judge s books. Ribbons, tags or cards have no value as to payment. Exhibitor s birth date must be on the entry form 3. All animals must be the property of exhibitor for a minimum of 30 days prior to opening day of the Fair. 4. Entry Form must be signed by County Extension Agent, FFA Advisor or Officer of Recognized Breed Association. For online entries, signature page must be mailed to the Entries Office along with payment of fees (if not paid online) within 5 days of deadline. 5. ENTRY FEE of $3.00 per single bird is required and must accompany official entry form. Make checks payable to Arizona State Fair. 6. Birds entered in this division will not be eligible in the open class. If exhibitor desires to enter in the open pigeon department, separate exhibits must be entered. 7.
