HOUSING SYSTEMS Optimal housing system for breeders The number of healthy day-old chicks determines the success of a breeder operation. Producing healthy day-old chicks starts with the creation of the right environment. This facilitation must provide animals comfort and support for mating and the laying of their eggs. Fertilization and the quality of eggs are crucial for optimal hatchability. Premium + laying nest and slats are developed to meet these requirements and contribute to a successful breeder operation.
The Premium + laying nest is the worlds number one laying nest PREMIUM + LAYING NEST For premium-quality hatching eggs The Premium + laying nest is designed for the production of premium-quality hatching eggs. The hatchability rate of eggs is high thanks to the preserved egg shell quality. Eggs stay perfectly clean and the correct handling of the eggs avoids damages. The Premium + laying nest also reduces the amount of floor eggs to a minimum because of the high nest acceptance among birds. I have made a good choice by investing in quality equipment. The return on the investment has been very lucrative and still is. Nests of 1995 are still in perfect condition. Mr. De Klein Netherlands 8
High acceptance and optimal density The Premium + laying nest is well accepted among birds because it offers a comfortable, sheltered and secluded place to lay eggs. The nest environment remains in perfect condition, even with high bird densities and high temperatures. Single-walled plastic partitions make the nests mite unfriendly. High hatchability rate The quality of the egg shell has great influence on the hatchability rate. Eggs must stay clean and without cracks in order to avoid bacteria entering the egg. Laying eggs in a hygienic environment is vital for good hatching results. The egg is most vulnerable just after it is laid as the top protection coat of the egg has not dried yet. Also hatching eggs should be protected against variable temperatures that effect the embryo. Nest mats in the Premium + laying nest have an open structure and rounded design. This enables eggs to stay clean. Mounting clips of the nest mat enable easy installation and ensure a fixed position. The egg transfer from nest mat to egg belt is very gentle, so that the egg shell is kept intact. Egg protection flaps avoid eggs from being visible for the hens. Easy management and installation Installation of the nests is very simple due to the unique ClickFrame system. Double-hinged roof plates make inspection and maintenance of the nests fast and easy. The use of durable material and the quality design guarantees a long operation life-time and therefore a maximum return on investment. 9
PREMIUM SLATS Support optimal fertilization and hatchability of hatching eggs Premium slats are designed for easy cleaning, optimal manure passage and proper support for feet of breeders. These characteristics are very important for the hatchability and fertilization of hatching eggs. Proper support and grip during mating is essential for the fertilization of eggs. Optimal passage of manure allows slats and nests to stay clean. SLAT WASHER Save labour and time with the efficient slat washer The easy to operate slat washer saves time and labour. High pressure spray nozzles of the slat washer thoroughly clean both top and bottom of wooden or plastic slats. Even with cold water. The system stacks plastic slats in the denester and cleans 2-5 slats per minute, depending on the degree of dirt, soaking time and slat type. Save time and labour with the efficient slat washer 10
We have a very low amount of floor eggs and the nests are well accepted by the hens. The quality of the hatching eggs is very good and have a very high hatching rate. Mr. De Klein Netherlands 11

EGG HANDLING Careful handling from egg belt to egg tray From the moment an egg has been laid, it must be handled carefully in order to retain its quality. After all, the egg quality determines the hatchability rate. The egg handling systems of Jansen Poultry Equipment are designed to handle eggs with utmost care and therefore contribute to optimal hatching results.
FLEXBELT EGG CONVEYOR Safe and flexibel transport The FlexBelt egg conveyor has special carriers that handle eggs with utmost care. Special transfers transport eggs gently from the egg belt onto the FlexBelt conveyor. The conveyor s open structure allows dirt to fall through. Since there is no accumulation of dirt, eggs stay clean and maintenance is easy. The flexibility of the FlexBelt allows it to be installed in even the smallest spaces. A variety of bends and slopes is available with angles of up to 35 degrees. Obstacles do not form a problem, thanks to the possibility of both standing and hanging installation. The quality of our eggs is very good and the automated egg handling process saves a huge amount of labour. Mr. Kuipers Netherlands 16
MULTIFLEX ELEVATOR Brings eggs safely to one level The MultiFlex Elevator bridges difference in egg belt heights. Eggs are transferred carefully and stable from the egg belt to the carriers of the MultiFlex Elevator. Eggs role around in a stable and horizontal position. This is of great important for the hatchability. The open structure of the carriers allows dirt to fall through and eggs to stay clean. The in- and output units are height adjustable. This allows exact transfer of the eggs in every situation. COBOT Automatic and accurate handling of setter trays The Cobot system places setter trays automatically and accurately into containers. It has a capacity of handling up to 25,000 eggs per hour. Thanks to the compact and practical design, minimum space is required. This makes the Cobot very flexible and suitable for even small areas. The system handles both full and empty setter trays and can be used for a wide variety of containers and trays. Optionally, full trays can also be unloaded from the container. Visual control of eggs is still possible. 17
With the Premium + nest the percentage of floor eggs is less than 1%, resulting in a great production of quality eggs that are suitable for hatching. Four Corners Poultry Canada 18
HATCHERY PACKER Accurate and gentle setting into setter trays Special suction cups of the Hatchery Packer gently place hatching eggs into setter trays. A setting accuracy of 99.8% makes the system reliable for maintaining a good quality of the hatching egg. The systems allows a capacity of up to 28,000 eggs per hour, depending on the type of setter tray. An integrated tray denester allows the system to remain compact. FARM GRADER Compact system for egg grading The universal and compact FarmGrader for grading eggs can be used in combination with any packer system or egg conveyor. It can also be used as stand-alone unit. The FarmGrader can grade eggs in 4 different weight classes. The coloured touchscreen is easy to use. Relevant data can be imported in spreadsheet programs by means of an USB-stick. The FarmGrader can be used in any poultry farm where pre-weight selection is required. The Hatchery Packer has a setting accuracy of 99.8% 19

ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS Energy efficient environmental solutions Environmental solutions of Jansen Poultry Equipment reduce the development and emmision of fine dust, ammonia and odour. In addition, they make efficient use of energy. The basic philosophy of the environmental system design, is to make minimum use of energy by letting air flow through the systems with minimum resistance. Air scrubbers, manure drying systems and heat exchanger all work with this principle as starting point.
The manure drying systems achieve a fine dust reduction up to 60% MANURE DRYING SYSTEM CLASSIC Drying of manure at low energy costs The manure drying system Classic is developed to dry manure with minimal energy costs, in all seasons. This results in a reduction of manure disposal costs. More than that: the dry manure can even yield a profit when being marketed. The manure drying system Classic is registered under BWL V2 and has a fine dust reduction of 30%. MANURE DRYING SYSTEM COMPACT Accelerated manure drying The results of the manure drying system Compact are highly valued for various reasons. The dried manure has a lower weight and lower manure disposal costs and can also be marketed as natural fertilizer. The Compact system achieves a fine dust reduction of 60% and is energy efficient. The system is also suitable in limited space, due to its compact design. Finally, the welfare of humans and animals benefits from the reduced ammonia levels in the barn. 22
ALUBREEZE HEAT EXCHANGER An aluminium heart for optimum results The AluBreeze heat exchanger is essential for low-energy livestock houses. This heat exchanger uses the heat of the exhausted air to warm up the fresh incoming outdoor air, before it is blown into the livestock barn. The AluBreeze takes advantage of the unique AluPerfect heat conduction profiles for efficient heat transmission. The structure of this heat exchanger is compact and sturdy. The results are a fine dust reduction of approximately 20% and an improved environment in the barn. The disposal of wet manure is expensive. That is why we decided to purchase a manure drying system. Now we receive money for the manure instead of paying for it. Mr. van Heerikhuize Netherlands 23
The air scrubbers ensure an ammonia reduction up to 90% ECOFRIEND BIOLOGICAL AIR SCRUBBER User- and environment friendly The EcoFriend biological air scrubber filters have a high efficiency that ensure 70% ammonia reduction and additionally reduce fine dust. This is due to a separate collection of dust and feathers. Also, the large contact surface of the filter packages increases the efficiency. The high efficiency remains because the system is easy to maintain. The EcoFriend is easily accessible because of wide walkways between the filter packages and has a low energy consumption, due to the application of low static pressure fans, excellent design and the prevention of polluted filter packages. AMOCONTROL BIOLOGICAL AIR SCRUBBER Controlling the reduction of ammonia The great advantage of the AmoControl chemical air scrubber is the quickness and controllability of its washing process. The starting point of its design is a sparing use of water, acid and energy. The AmoControl is extremely effective, due to the separated dust section and spray section. The spray section works efficiently through to the effectiveness of acidified water. The AmoControl is more compact in size than the EcoFriend and the investment is lower. The fully automatic control provides more than 90% ammonia reduction and also fine dust is being substantially reduced. 24
OTHER CLIMATE SOLUTIONS A variety of climate solutions for ventilation, cooling and heating Factors such as the demanded production capacity, geographical circumstances, conditions on the farm and wishes of the customer determine which climate solutions are installed in the breeder house. Jansen Poultry Equipment offers a wide range of climate solutions for ventilation, cooling and heating to fit every specific situation. 25
